Home improvement stores · Search engine optimisation

Be the page a family finds when searching for tiles, fittings or a fitter.

SEO for a home improvement store is the work of making your ranges, your project services and your location appear when a household searches for something to fix, paint or fit. GullySales works on the page structure, the wording of range and project pages, and the technical basics behind them.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

Home improvement companies: show a real physical business scene illustrating Lead and sales pipeline. Record the enquiry source, book the site survey, and chase until the householder signs or turns the quote down.

What search engine optimisation means

Search engine optimisation (SEO) is the work of getting your website to appear when a buyer searches Google for what you sell. GullySales builds pages around real search terms, fixes technical issues that block ranking, and tracks which searches actually bring enquiries.

For home improvement stores

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “Searchers name the room, the fault or the item”

People type a leaking tap washer, bathroom tiles for a small room, or how to waterproof a terrace. Each phrase is a page the store can own. One page titled Hardware answers none of them, so range pages must be written in the words used at home.

  • “A wide range makes a thin site”

Hundreds of items listed with a name and a price give a search engine little to read. A handful of pages explaining which adhesive suits which tile, with the brands you stock, stand better than a long run of near-empty product pages.

  • “Brand names pull searchers to the brand”

A search carrying a paint or fittings brand is answered by the maker and the large marketplaces. A store page wins by adding what they cannot: stock on a shelf near the searcher, a named fitter and delivery inside your area.

  • “The seasons move the questions”

Waterproofing before the rains, fans and coolers before summer, lights before festivals. A page prepared before the season is searched is the page found when it arrives, and a page written in the middle of it is late.

What we do

What we deliver for home improvement stores.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. Range pages in household wording

One page each for paint, tiles, taps, electrical and hardware, written around what the buyer is trying to do.

Result: Each department has a page that a searcher can land on and understand.

  2. Use guides tied to your stock

Short explanations such as which putty goes under which paint, naming only brands you actually hold.

Result: Every guide links to the shelf where the product sits.

  3. Titles and descriptions for every department

Page titles and snippets that name the item, the use and the town.

Result: Search results show a clear line for each page, not a blank or a repeat.

  4. Project pages for kitchen and bathroom work

A page per room project describing the package, the fitter panel and how a quote is asked for.

Result: A family searching for a room refresh lands on the project desk page.

  5. A technical check of the site

Loading on a phone, pages indexed, duplicate pages removed and links that lead nowhere repaired.

Result: A written list of what was found and what was fixed.

  6. A Search Console baseline

The queries and pages recorded before the work starts, so later movement can be read against them.

Result: You can open Search Console and see which phrases bring visits.

How the result is measured

  • Ranking positions
  • Organic traffic
  • Enquiries from organic search

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

Who it is for

This is written for these home improvement stores.

  • Multi-category home improvement stores in a city
  • Neighbourhood stores selling paint, fittings and hardware
  • Home improvement stores with a project desk
  • Stores that supply small contractors and handymen
  • Stores attached to a building materials yard
  • Franchise or brand-linked home improvement outlets
  • Stores with an interior and renovation service desk
  • Stores in smaller towns serving a whole district

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Your brief

You tell us what you need in a few short steps: your business, what you want, where enquiries come from and how they are handled.

  2. After the brief

A conversation and a written scope

We read it, then talk with whoever handles your enquiries. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come in writing, and nothing starts before you have read them.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

The numbers this work is meant to move, such as enquiries, quotations, orders, visits or renewals, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

The fix we agreed to start with is put in place and measured against the baseline, whether that is a reply, a follow-up, a page, a listing or the handover between marketing and sales.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

How the search engine optimisation work runs

  1. 1

    Audit and baseline

We record where the site stands today: positions, traffic, technical faults and the enquiries search currently produces. Nothing starts until this number is written down.

  2. 2

    Decide what to rank for

We map the searches your buyers use, in your words and theirs, and pick the ones worth the effort for your margin and your capacity.

  3. 3

    Fix the foundations

Technical faults first, because the cheapest gains are usually there. Then the Business Profile and directory consistency.

  4. 4

    Build the pages

A page for each thing you do, written to answer the question it is searched for, with a clear next step at the end.

  5. 5

    Publish and earn mentions

Content goes out on the calendar. Links and mentions are earned from real relationships, not bought.

  6. 6

    Measure, report, adjust

At the interval agreed at the start we report what moved and what did not, and change the plan when the numbers say so.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.

#257, 3rd floor, Sri Nanjundeshwara Complex, Nagarbhavi 8th Block, Outer Ring Road. How we work.

Your brief

Tell us what you need, and we will read it before we call.

Eight short steps about your business, what you want and who decides. Most questions are a tap, and you can skip any you would rather answer on the call.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Does every product need its own page?
No. A product page with only a name and a price adds little. Write pages for the departments and the uses, and give a product its own page only when people search for it by name and you can say something useful about it.
How long before the store ranks?
Nobody can promise a ranking or a date. It depends on competition in your town, the age of the site and the work done. GullySales records a baseline first so you can read the movement yourself in Search Console.
We already sell on a marketplace. Do we still need our own pages?
Yes. A marketplace listing belongs to the marketplace and cannot offer a fitter, a project desk or a visit. Your own pages are the only place a family can reach the store directly.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
