ERP software providers · Digital marketing

Plan a year of marketing around a sale that takes six months to close.

Digital marketing for an ERP provider is the plan that decides which channels reach the promoter, the accounts head and the CA, and what happens in the months between the first demo and the signature. GullySales writes that plan, gives each part an owner, and reviews it against pipeline rather than posts.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What digital marketing means

Digital marketing is the combined work of search, social media, advertising and website channels running together rather than as separate projects with separate people. GullySales runs these as one connected system so a change in one channel, such as a new offer, is reflected everywhere at once.

For ERP software providers

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “Three people decide and none of them read the same thing”

The promoter asks the company's accountant, the IT head reads about the product on LinkedIn, and the accounts head wants to see a GST return being filed.

  • “Nothing you publish this month closes this month”

An ERP deal signed in March started as a search in September, so a campaign killed after six weeks is killed before it has reported.

  • “The calendar follows the financial year, not the content calendar”

Year-end stock counting, audit season and a turnover crossing an e-invoicing band are when a business admits the spreadsheets have run out.

What we do

What we deliver for ERP software providers.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. One written plan naming the trades and the channels

Which two trades get pages and advertising, which audience is reached on LinkedIn, which through CAs and cluster meetings, and what is deliberately not being done this year.

Result: Everyone knows what the marketing is for.

  2. An owner and a fixed hour for each channel

A named person for the website, the advertising and the webinars, with the hour in the week when that work happens, agreed with you before we start.

Result: Work stops depending on whoever is free.

  3. A webinar and cluster meeting calendar

Four sessions a year on compliance and process, placed before year-end and audit season, with an invitation list built from your CRM and association lists.

Result: The business sees you at the moment it feels the pain.

  4. Pipeline measured instead of impressions

Enquiries, discovery calls, demos held and open deal value by source, recorded from the baseline and reported.

Result: You can defend the spend to your own board.

  5. A decision on what to drop

A review of each channel against the demos it produced, with a written decision to keep, change or stop, so nothing keeps running out of habit.

Result: Money moves to the channel that is working.

How the result is measured

  • Enquiries across channels
  • Cost per enquiry overall
  • Channel mix by contribution

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

Where to start for ERP partners

Write for the plant manager and the accountant before you advertise.

Pages by trade and problem
Write a page for each trade you serve, such as pharma distribution or fabrication, naming the stock, billing and GST problems its owners search. Record the form fills and which page they came from.
A demo script per trade
Prepare a short demo that uses the buyer's own documents, such as a challan, a purchase order and a GST return. Note what the accountant asked and where the demo stalled.
Pipeline sheet
List each prospect, the decision makers, the stage and the next step. Review it on a fixed day, so deals that went quiet are called, not forgotten.
Customer stories by trade
With permission, write how one named customer moved off spreadsheets or Tally, and what changed in the stock room. Record where the story was used and who asked.
Webinars and meetings for a trade
Host a session for one trade, such as a distributor group, with a clear problem. Record attendees by company and call each within a few days.
What to leave until later
Broad search ads for the word ERP and a content calendar for every platform. Choose one or two channels that reach the trades you serve, and give each an owner.

Who it is for

This is written for these ERP software providers.

  • ERP implementation partners for SAP Business One, Odoo or Microsoft Dynamics
  • Tally partners selling add-ons and customisation
  • Zoho partners and implementation consultants
  • Industry-specific ERP product companies
  • ERP providers for pharma and retail distribution
  • Manufacturing ERP and MRP software vendors
  • Construction and project ERP providers
  • Cloud ERP and SaaS accounting providers for small businesses

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • No one can say which trades the firm will take on, so a plan has nothing to aim at
  • You want a result from a single post or advertisement in a trade where deals are signed after many meetings

How it works

How the digital marketing work runs

The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.

  1. 1

    Agree the one aim

We settle what the campaign must achieve, such as enquiries for a launch or footfall for an event, and the date it must be live.

  2. 2

    Check what is ready

We list the channels you already run, who runs them, and what each can produce in the time available. Anything that cannot be done properly is left out.

  3. 3

Write the idea and the message sheet

We draft the one-sentence idea, test it against each planned format, and fix the wording that all channels will copy.

  4. 4

Brief every channel from the same sheet

Your agency, freelancer or in-house person receives the message sheet and calendar. Their work is checked against the sheet before it goes out.

  5. 5

    Run on the shared calendar

Channels go live together. If the offer changes, every channel is changed on the same day from the same sheet.

  6. 6

    Measure as one campaign

Enquiries and orders are read against the baseline. The reporting schedule is agreed in writing with the scope.

Where this fits

Three pieces of sales work, in this order.

This work sits inside sales process design, at stage 0, foundation. The audit comes before it, and sales management keeps it running.

  1. Step 1

    Sales audit

Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.

Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.

  2. Step 2 · you are here

    Sales process design

One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.

Start here if every salesperson sells differently.

  3. Step 3

    Sales management

A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

Start here if the team has targets and no routine.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

We are a small partner firm. How much of this can we run ourselves?
The webinars and the CA relationships should stay with you, because buyers want your implementation people. The pages, the advertising and the follow-up records are what we hold.
How long before we can judge it?
Watch discovery calls and demos from month two, and signed implementations from month six. An engagement runs for a term agreed in writing for that reason.
Should a small partner firm hire an agency or write its own content?
Write it yourselves where the knowledge sits, since a consultant who ran the implementation knows the buyer's worries. An outside writer or designer can polish pages and manage the site. One person at your firm should decide what is published.
How do we tell which channel produced a deal that took months?
Record the first source on the prospect the day they appear, and add every later touch, such as a webinar or a referral from a CA. At signing, review the notes. The deal usually has more than one source, so count both.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
