Industrial automation companies · WhatsApp marketing

Use WhatsApp for what plant engineers already use it for: drawings, photos and quick answers.

WhatsApp marketing for an integrator means using the app plant engineers already keep open for site photos, drawings and quick questions, rather than broadcasting offers to a list. GullySales sets up a clean business number, saved replies and rules for who gets which message.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What WhatsApp marketing means

WhatsApp marketing is sending updates, offers and reminders to customers on the app most Indian buyers already check daily. GullySales sets up business WhatsApp, writes the message templates and keeps the list consented and current.

For industrial automation companies

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “Engineers already share site photos on WhatsApp”

A maintenance engineer sends a photo of the panel or a fault code to a vendor in seconds. A company that asks for an email with an attachment loses that moment to one that answers the photo.

  • “A personal number holds the customer relationship”

When enquiries come to the senior engineer's own phone, the company does not own the thread. A move to another employer takes the plant's contact and the history with it.

  • “Group broadcasts irritate the buyers you want”

A plant head who gets a product blast at night stops reading your messages. Messages to this audience should be a response to something they asked, or a relevant note sent with their agreement.

  • “Drawings and quotes sent as loose files get lost”

A PDF forwarded in a chat is hard to find three weeks later. Without a naming habit and a record of what was sent, the team cannot say which version of the offer the plant holds.

What we do

What we deliver for industrial automation companies.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A business number with a proper profile

A WhatsApp Business setup carrying the company name, address, hours and a catalogue of the solutions you deliver.

Result: A plant sees one company number, not an engineer's phone.

  2. Saved replies for common questions

Short answers for site visit requests, document requests, AMC queries and spares, written in plain engineering terms.

Result: Routine questions are answered the same way every time.

  3. Rules for who answers what

A simple map of which engineer or sales person handles each type of message, and a backup when they are on site.

Result: No enquiry waits because one person is unavailable.

  4. A habit for sending quotes and drawings

File naming and a short cover note, with the record updated in your CRM when a document is shared.

Result: You can say exactly what each plant was sent.

  5. An opt-in approach for updates

Permission asked before any news or reminder is sent, with an easy way to stop messages.

Result: Contacts hear from you because they agreed to.

How the result is measured

  • Messages delivered
  • Reply rate
  • Enquiries from WhatsApp

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

What to send

These are the messages a plant engineer will reply to.

Fault photograph and a first question
A saved reply asking for a photo of the panel display and the machine, so an engineer can judge the fault before travelling.
Drawing or datasheet by name
A message sending the drawing file with a clear name and revision, so it can be found again in a crowded chat.
Quote status note
A short line saying which round the quote is in and what you await, sent to the engineer and not to a group.
Site visit slot confirmation
A message with the date, the name of the engineer coming and the safety papers they carry for the gate.
AMC reminder for the plant
A message sent before a contract ends, naming the equipment covered and a person to call for renewal.

Who it is for

This is written for these industrial automation companies.

  • PLC, SCADA and HMI system integrators
  • Control panel and MCC panel builders
  • Robotics and pick-and-place integrators
  • Special purpose machine builders
  • Process automation and DCS integrators
  • Industrial IoT, MES and energy monitoring providers
  • Authorised channel partners and distributors of automation brands
  • Drive, motion control and servo specialists
  • Retrofit and migration specialists for old control systems

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • Your engineers talk to customers on personal numbers and would leave with the chats, so the record would go with them.
  • Your plants forbid phones on the shop floor and use email for drawings, so the channel would not reach the right people.
  • You plan a broadcast to every plant contact without asking, which risks irritating the buyers you most want.

How it works

How the whatsapp marketing work runs

The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.

  1. 1

Read the chats you already have

We read how customers write to you, which questions repeat and where a chat goes quiet. The repeated questions decide what gets automated first.

  2. 2

Sort the list and the permission

Contacts who asked to hear from you are separated from numbers that only sit in a phone book. We agree the wording new contacts will see before they say yes.

  3. 3

Choose the app or the API

One phone and a small team can stay on the ordinary app. Several people on one number, templates or a CRM link need the API through a provider, which is its own piece of setup work.

  4. 4

Write the replies and the plan

The greeting, away message, saved replies and handover rule are written in your words and approved by you. The message plan and its templates follow.

  5. 5

    Connect the record and test

Each link carries its source line and each chat lands in the CRM. We test on real phones, including a customer who asks for a person.

  6. 6

    Read the unanswered questions

A question the first reply could not answer becomes a new saved reply or a fixed handover. Stop requests are watched too, with the number's quality rating where the API is used, since both show a message plan that has gone too far.

Where this fits

Three pieces of sales work, in this order.

This work sits inside sales process design, at stage 0, foundation. The audit comes before it, and sales management keeps it running.

  1. Step 1

    Sales audit

Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.

Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.

  2. Step 2 · you are here

    Sales process design

One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.

Start here if every salesperson sells differently.

  3. Step 3

    Sales management

A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

Start here if the team has targets and no routine.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Can we send bulk messages to plant contacts?
Check the platform's current rules on business messaging and consent before any bulk send, as they change. For this audience we favour replies and agreed updates over broadcasts. A short message to a contact who asked for it carries weight that a mass message does not.
Should engineers use their own numbers with customers?
Better that customer conversations come through the company number or are recorded in your CRM. An engineer can still reply personally, but the thread and the files should belong to the company, so work continues when people change roles.
Does WhatsApp suit large corporate plants?
Some plants have strict rules on external chat apps, and purchase will still want email for formal offers. Use WhatsApp where the engineer starts it, and follow with a formal email for quotes. We ask each account how they prefer to be contacted.
How does a plant's own security policy limit messaging?
Some plants bar personal phones inside the gate or require drawings to travel by email. Ask each customer which channel they allow and record it. Send the quote or the drawing by the method they name, and use WhatsApp only for brief updates they have accepted.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
