Digital PR · Marketing

Know which coverage you bought and which you only asked for.

Digital public relations (digital PR) is the paid and placed half of press. A release distributed to online outlets, a sponsored article, a founder interview, a place in a roundup of firms in your category. Each of those is bought at a price.

In one paragraph

Digital PR places your announcement, founder story or expert article on online publications, usually with a link back to you, and most placements are paid rather than earned. GullySales writes the story, approaches the publications, and marks every target as paid or pitched before anything is booked.

A journalist reading a pitch and deciding on their own to write about you is a different thing, and our public relations and corporate communications page covers it. Nobody can sell you that decision. What can be sold is the placement, and the two are mixed up on purpose in this trade.

So two limits go on the table before money moves. Editorial coverage cannot be guaranteed, and a publication that promises your story will appear on a date has sold you a paid placement, whatever the invoice calls it. The second limit is search: no ranking outcome is promised here, because the search engine decides for itself how to treat a link.

The problem

Does this sound like your business?

What owners tell us on the first call, in their words.

  • We paid for a release and it appeared on sites nobody reads

Blanket distribution copies one release onto dozens of low-traffic pages, so the coverage report runs to three sheets and not one of those pages is read by a buyer.

  • The editor called it a feature and then sent an invoice

Nobody asked at the start whether the piece was paid, so the business believed it had earned the coverage until the bill arrived.

  • We were promised first-page rankings from the links

Placements were sold as a search outcome, which no agency or publication can promise, because the search engine decides whether a link counts for anything at all.

  • The announcement went out three weeks after the event

No story had been written in advance, the managing director's quote was still waiting for approval, and by the time it was placed the news had gone cold.

What we do

Everything that is included.

Each deliverable, and what it gets you. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. Story check

An honest read of what is announceable this quarter, and what is better held back until there is something to say.

  2. The written story

The release, the founder byline or the interview answers, written once and properly rather than as a template with the company name changed.

  3. A target list split in two

Every publication marked paid or pitched, with the placement fee quoted by that publication before you commit to it.

  4. Outreach and follow-up

Approaches to the editors who actually cover your category, followed up once, instead of a mass mail to a bought address list.

  5. Sponsored article coordination

The brief, the draft, the publication's own disclosure wording and the approval, run to the publication's deadline.

  6. Coverage record

Every placement logged with its date, what it cost, whether it was paid, and how the link on it is marked.

  7. Referral and enquiry report

Visits and enquiries traced from each placement back to your site, set against what that placement cost.

How the result is measured

  • Placements published, each marked paid or earned
  • Referral visits from each placement
  • Enquiries traced to a placement's landing page
  • Pitches sent against pitches accepted
  • What a search for your company name returns

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, then reported every month against it.

Who it is for

This is written for you if these sound familiar.

  • Companies with an announcement that has a date on it: a new plant, a second branch, an award
  • Founders who want an interview or a byline on a site their buyers read
  • Businesses whose name returns nothing beyond their own website and a directory listing
  • Trade sellers whose industry titles run paid features, who want to know what one is worth
  • A company building a record of coverage before a fundraise or a hiring push

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • Owners who want a named publication on a named date without paying for the placement
  • Businesses buying links for rankings, since nobody honest promises a search outcome from a link
  • Companies with nothing to announce, where a release about nothing is the fastest way to waste a budget

How it works

From your first message to the first monthly report.

No open-ended retainer. Each step has a point in time and something you receive.

  1. 01 · Day 1

    Free audit call

45 minutes with whoever handles your enquiries: how they arrive, how fast they are answered, where they are lost.

  2. 02 · Within a few working days

    Written, scored report

Six areas scored, fixes ranked by return and cost. If you want our help, the scope and fee come with it, in writing.

  3. 03 · Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

Enquiries by source, reply time, conversion and cost per order, written down so every later month has an honest comparison.

  4. 04 · Month 1

    The first fix goes live

Usually the cheapest one on the report: reply time, a follow-up sequence or the marketing-to-sales handover.

  5. 05 · Every month

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words.

  6. 06 · Month 3 to 6

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. No twelve-month lock.

How the digital PR work runs

  1. 1

    Agree what counts as news

We separate the announcements an editor will find interesting from the ones only the company cares about.

  2. 2

    Write the story first

Copy, quotes and images are approved inside your business before a single publication is approached.

  3. 3

    Split the list

Paid placements are priced and pitched targets are listed apart from them, so you know which one you are buying.

  4. 4

    Place, pitch and follow up

Paid placements are booked and scheduled, pitches go to named editors, and a pitch that is refused is reported as refused.

  5. 5

    Record and report

Coverage, referral visits and enquiries go into the monthly report, with no ranking claim attached to any of it.

Proof

What happened when owners fixed this.

Real clients, the work we did, and the result as it was recorded. Where no number was recorded, none is claimed.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every monthly report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No lock-in, no guarantees we cannot keep

Three to six months at a time. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Can you guarantee our story gets published?
Only where the placement is paid. A publication selling the slot will commit to a date and a format. An editor deciding on merit commits to nothing, and an agency that promises otherwise is quietly buying the placement on your behalf.
Will these links improve our Google rankings?
No promise is made here, by us or by anyone else. Many placements mark their links as sponsored, and the search engine decides on its own what weight a link carries. Buy digital PR to be found and believed when a buyer looks you up, not as a ranking tactic.
How is this different from public relations?
Public relations is a journalist choosing to write about you after a pitch, and our public relations and corporate communications page covers that work. Digital PR is the placement itself, bought and scheduled like media. Most companies need both, and the cost and the certainty are nothing alike.
Should the article say it is sponsored?
Yes, and the publication's own policy decides the wording. A disclosure line does not stop a buyer reading the piece or finding it when they search your name. Hiding a paid placement puts the publication's standing and yours at risk.
How is this priced?
There is no published price. Each publication quotes its own placement fee and you approve it before we book anything. Our fee covers the story, the outreach and the coordination, and it is agreed in writing after the free audit.
How long is the contract?
Three to six months at a time. There is no twelve-month lock, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
Fixes to reply time, follow-up and your Google Business Profile usually show in weeks, because the enquiries already exist. Ads show in days once follow-up is ready. SEO and content take months. The audit tells you which applies to you.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you meet on the audit call. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
For the audit, last month's enquiries in any format and 45 minutes with whoever handles them. After that, access to the accounts the work touches, such as the website, Google Business Profile or CRM, and time for the monthly review.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Every month is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. Terms run three to six months at a time, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
