Grand opening and store launch advertising · Marketing

The opening crowd is booked six weeks before the shutter goes up.

A launch has one fact your other advertising does not. The date is fixed, and everything is booked backwards from it. A hoarding cycle starts on the media owner's date, an insert drops on the day that route is covered, and printing takes its own days.

In one paragraph

Grand opening and store launch advertising is a dated campaign built to fill one weekend and then keep the place busy. It buys hoardings inside the catchment, inserts down the right roads, and an offer that stops on a date. GullySales works backwards from your opening day and gets every booking placed in time.

The catchment is smaller than owners want it to be. For a showroom or a clinic, buyers come from the distance they will travel on a working evening. That is measured in minutes of traffic, not kilometres.

Then there is the offer. A crowd turns up for a reason, and the words now open are not one. An opening price that ends on a date, a gift for the first hundred customers, a free check-up camp. Any of those gives people a reason to come this week instead of sometime.

The problem

Does this sound like your business?

What owners tell us on the first call, in their words.

  • We advertised the whole city for a shop on one road

Most of that money reached people who will never drive across town for a haircut or a service. A launch catchment is a few minutes of traffic in each direction.

  • The hoarding went up after we opened

Mounting dates slip, and a launch has no room for it. A site that goes live three days late has missed the only week it was bought for.

  • A crowd came on Sunday and nobody came back

An opening offer with no reason to return fills one weekend. The second visit is what makes a launch worth its cost, and nothing was built to bring it.

  • Nobody can say what the launch actually did

Footfall was not counted, no code was printed on anything, and the billing for those days was never set against an ordinary week. There is no number to plan the next branch on.

What we do

Everything that is included.

Each deliverable, and what it gets you. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. Catchment drawn from the door

The roads, junctions and residential pockets people will really travel from, drawn outwards from your shutter. A launch in Nagarbhavi does not need Whitefield to hear about it.

  2. Backwards schedule from opening day

Every booking, print run, approval and delivery dated against the opening, with the last safe date for each one written beside it.

  3. Pre-opening and opening-week split

What runs before the date to build expectation, and what runs on the weekend itself, with the money divided between the two on purpose.

  4. Permissions checked, not assumed

Who permits the arch, the banner, the standee on the footpath and the sound system. The local body and the police station have separate rules and separate lead times.

  5. An offer with a stop date

A launch price, a gift for early customers or a free camp, printed with the date it ends, so the reason to come is this week.

  6. Counting at the door

Footfall recorded on the opening days, a different code on each medium, and a campaign number, so the weekend can be read against a normal one later.

  7. The week-two plan

What runs once the crowd goes home. The branch has to fill on ordinary Tuesdays and an opening burst does nothing for those.

How the result is measured

  • Footfall on opening days against a normal week
  • Opening offers redeemed, split by the code printed on each medium
  • Calls to the campaign number during launch week
  • Repeat visits in the month after the opening
  • Sites, inserts and spots delivered on their booked dates

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, then reported every month against it.

Who it is for

This is written for you if these sound familiar.

  • A first showroom, clinic or restaurant opening where nobody in the locality has heard the name
  • Retail chains adding a branch that has to be busy in week one rather than month six
  • Franchisees opening under a known brand, with a launch budget and the principal's rules to work inside
  • Builders opening a site office or a sample flat on the road buyers use to reach the project
  • Owners who opened quietly last year and spent six months explaining to the neighbourhood that they exist

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • A store whose fit-out date is still moving, because a dated media cycle that has to be rebooked costs the full rate again
  • Anyone expecting advertising to carry a location buyers cannot find or park anywhere near
  • Sellers whose buyers are a few hundred people across the country, where an opening crowd is the wrong thing to buy

How it works

From your first message to the first monthly report.

No open-ended retainer. Each step has a point in time and something you receive.

  1. 01 · Day 1

    Free audit call

45 minutes with whoever handles your enquiries: how they arrive, how fast they are answered, where they are lost.

  2. 02 · Within a few working days

    Written, scored report

Six areas scored, fixes ranked by return and cost. If you want our help, the scope and fee come with it, in writing.

  3. 03 · Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

Enquiries by source, reply time, conversion and cost per order, written down so every later month has an honest comparison.

  4. 04 · Month 1

    The first fix goes live

Usually the cheapest one on the report: reply time, a follow-up sequence or the marketing-to-sales handover.

  5. 05 · Every month

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words.

  6. 06 · Month 3 to 6

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. No twelve-month lock.

How the grand opening and store launch advertising work runs

  1. 1

Fix the date, then work backwards

We take the opening date from whoever is doing your fit-out, add the buffer that date always needs, and schedule every booking against it.

  2. 2

    Drive the catchment

We go along the approach roads to see where your buyer comes from, which carriageway they come on, and where they are already stopping.

  3. 3

    Book the dated media first

Hoardings, insert drops and radio spots are confirmed early, because the good dates near a festival go first and cannot be added back later.

  4. 4

    Produce and clear it

Flex, inserts and standees are printed to each media owner's specification, with permissions for anything outside the shop cleared before the day.

  5. 5

Run the weekend and count it

Footfall, codes and calls are recorded across the opening days, then set against an ordinary week once you have had one.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every monthly report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No lock-in, no guarantees we cannot keep

Three to six months at a time. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

How far ahead should we start?
Weeks, not days. Hoarding cycles begin on the media owner's dates, insert routes have fixed drop days, and printing takes its own time. The creative is the last thing to settle, never the booking.
Is a newspaper insert still worth it for a shop opening?
For a local catchment, yes, as long as it goes down only in the routes that reach you. Inserts are bought by distribution area, so the waste comes from taking a whole edition when your buyers live along four roads. Ask which routes are on offer before you agree a quantity.
What if the opening date moves?
That is the expensive part, which is why we build a buffer into the schedule. A confirmed hoarding cycle or insert drop that has to shift is rebooked at the media owner's discretion, and reprinting dated artwork is your cost either way.
Can you tell us which advertisement brought the crowd?
Partly. A different code on the insert, the standee and the hoarding tells you which one people carried in, and the campaign number catches the calls. Word of mouth and the shutter itself bring the rest, and we will not pretend to split that.
Do you run the event on the day?
We plan and coordinate the advertising around it, including the permissions the media itself needs. The ribbon, the caterer and the sound crew are booked by you or your event vendor, and we keep the media dates matched to what they are doing.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped in the free audit and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
Three to six months at a time. There is no twelve-month lock, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
Fixes to reply time, follow-up and your Google Business Profile usually show in weeks, because the enquiries already exist. Ads show in days once follow-up is ready. SEO and content take months. The audit tells you which applies to you.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you meet on the audit call. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
For the audit, last month's enquiries in any format and 45 minutes with whoever handles them. After that, access to the accounts the work touches, such as the website, Google Business Profile or CRM, and time for the monthly review.
