GullySales

Your team answers price, delay and competitor pushback the same tested way.

Most deals do not die at the close. They die at the hesitation nobody answered well. We train your team on the objections your buyers actually raise, using responses built from your own deals.

  • One agreed response to every objection your buyers repeat.
  • Practice under pressure, not slides forgotten by Friday.
  • Managers who reinforce the responses in weekly reviews.

Gully Sales Private Limited works with sales teams across India, on the objections their own buyers raise.

In one paragraph

What is Objection-Handling Training for Sales Teams?

Objection-handling training teaches your sales team to answer the resistance that stalls deals: price, timing, an existing vendor, credit terms, and silence after a quotation. Gully Sales collects the objections your buyers actually raise, builds one agreed response to each, then drills your team until they can use it on a live call without sounding scripted.

The problem

Deals are not lost at the close. They stall at the first hesitation.

Ask your team why a deal did not close and you will usually hear that the customer went quiet. Look one step earlier and there is almost always a moment where the buyer raised a doubt, about price, about timing, about the supplier they already use, and the reply was a quick discount or a promise to follow up. Nobody had ever been given a better answer to give.

You will recognise it as

  • Quotations go out and then go quiet, and follow-up becomes just checking in.
  • Two reps answer the same price objection in two different ways, both improvised.
  • Discounts are offered before the buyer has even asked for one.
  • Reps talk more when a buyer hesitates, instead of asking what the hesitation is about.
  • We already have a supplier ends the conversation instead of starting one.

What it costs the business

  • Margin leaks quietly, because price is conceded in the room rather than defended with value.
  • The pipeline fills with deals that are neither won nor lost, and the forecast becomes guesswork.
  • Sales cycles stretch, because every unanswered doubt adds another round of follow-up.

Why it persists. Objection handling is usually treated as personality rather than skill. The owner handles hard conversations well, so the business assumes it cannot be taught, and new joiners are told to observe and learn. Generic workshops make it worse: they teach frameworks against textbook objections, not the four or five sentences your buyers repeat every week.

If it stays unresolved. The gap widens as you hire. Each new person invents their own answers, quality depends on who happens to take the call, and the business grows only as fast as its two strongest talkers can travel. Over time, price becomes the one lever anyone trusts.

What changes

What changes once your team has an answer ready.

In the first weeks

  • Improvising stops, because the objections that matter now have agreed responses.
  • Reps hear the objection out and ask one clarifying question before answering.

In how the work runs

  • Objections and loss reasons are captured in the CRM as part of the deal record.
  • Managers review recorded calls against one response standard every week.
  • New joiners reach a usable standard through practice rather than shadowing.

In sales and marketing

  • Reasons for loss become specific, so pricing decisions rest on evidence.
  • Discounting becomes a decision your team makes deliberately, rather than a reflex.
  • Deals going nowhere surface earlier, and are either revived or closed out.

In what management can see

  • Buyers hear the same steady explanation of your value from anyone they speak to.

Over the longer term

  • Objection handling becomes part of induction, so capability survives attrition.

We control the training, the response library, the practice sessions and the manager reinforcement. Revenue also depends on your pricing, product, lead quality and how consistently managers keep using the material. We report against agreed measures rather than promising an increase.

Who it is for

This is built for teams that already have conversations to win.

The businesses it suits

  • Founders who are still pulled into every difficult customer conversation.
  • Sales heads with three or more reps whose results vary widely by person.
  • B2B businesses selling considered purchases where buyers compare quotations.
  • Companies whose reps meet an entrenched incumbent supplier on most calls.
  • Businesses whose margins are being eroded by unplanned discounts.

What usually prompts the call

  • Your win rate has fallen while enquiry volume has stayed the same.
  • A competitor has entered your market at a lower price point.
  • You have raised prices and the team is struggling to defend the new level.
  • Deals sit in the same pipeline stage for weeks with no clear reason.

What Gully Sales does

The work, component by component.

Objection audit and competency baseline

We collect the objections your buyers actually raise from calls, quotations and lost-deal notes, rank them by frequency and by the revenue they hold up, then score each rep against the same observable behaviours on real conversations.

Why it matters:
A generic module on price does nothing for a team whose real blocker is credit terms, and training without a baseline cannot be evaluated later.
You receive:
A ranked objection list in your buyers' words, and a scored baseline for each rep.
Business value:
You know which objections cost you money, and where each person stands, before anyone is trained.

Response library and curriculum

Each priority objection gets one written response in your team's spoken language, built on your own evidence: comparisons, references, specifications, service terms, total cost over time. Your senior sellers correct the wording before anyone is trained on it.

Why it matters:
A response nobody would say out loud is a response nobody uses, and imported frameworks rarely survive an Indian buyer's questions about credit and delivery.
You receive:
A written objection library with one agreed response each, and a modular curriculum mapped to it.
Business value:
Everyone answers the same question the same way, and the material stays yours after the programme ends.

Practice and field application

Workshops end in drill, not discussion. Reps take objections cold, on the phone and face to face, with the difficult buyer played properly. Between sessions they use the responses on live deals and log what happened, so we can correct what sounds stiff in the field.

Why it matters:
The gap between the classroom and the field is where most sales training quietly dies.
You receive:
Recorded role-plays with written feedback, a field log per rep, and a one-page field card.
Business value:
The response survives a real buyer, because it has already survived a room of colleagues and a live call.

Manager reinforcement and certification

Your manager or founder learns what to listen for in a call, how to score it, which question to ask in the weekly review, and how to correct without deflating people. Each rep is then certified live on a familiar objection, a hard one, and one they have not seen.

Why it matters:
Without a manager who keeps using it, any programme fades within two review cycles.
You receive:
A manager guide, a call scoring sheet, a weekly review agenda and a certification record.
Business value:
The standard belongs to your own management routine, so capability keeps improving after we step back.

Measurement and refresh

We link call quality to your pipeline numbers and report against the baseline over a full quarter. New objections created by a competitor move or a price revision are added to the library and drilled in a short refresher.

Why it matters:
Objections change when the market changes, and a library nobody updates slowly stops matching reality.
You receive:
A measurement report against baseline, and a refresh plan for new joiners and new objections.
Business value:
You can see whether behaviour actually changed, and the material stays current instead of ageing on a shared drive.

What you will have at the end.

  • A ranked objection library drawn from your own calls, quotations and lost deals.
  • One agreed response per objection, in your team's spoken language, with supporting proof.
  • A competency baseline for each rep, scored against the same observable behaviours.
  • A modular curriculum sequenced around the objections that cost you the most revenue.
  • Recorded role-play sessions with written feedback for every participant.
  • A one-page field card each rep can keep in the CRM or on the phone.
  • An anonymised extract of a scored call, showing what a good response sounds like.
  • A manager reinforcement guide, a call scoring sheet and a weekly review agenda.
  • A certification checklist and the record of who has passed each level.
  • CRM fields for capturing objections and loss reasons at the deal level.

How it runs

The engagement, step by step.

  1. 1

    Discovery and objection audit

We sit with you and the team to understand what you sell, who you compete with and where deals stall, then go to the evidence: recorded calls, quotations that went cold, lost-deal notes and follow-up threads. Every objection is written down verbatim and ranked.

    You provide:
Call recordings or access to sit in on calls, recent quotations, lost-deal notes and CRM access if you have one.
    We produce:
A ranked list of the objections that actually cost you deals, in your buyers' own words.
    Done when:
You agree the shortlist of objections the programme will address.
  2. 2

    Competency baseline

Each rep is scored against the same observable behaviours on a sample of real conversations, so we know where each person starts and which weakness is common across the team. The scoring sheet is agreed with you first.

    You provide:
A sample of calls per rep, and an hour of each rep's time where recordings are unavailable.
    We produce:
A per-rep baseline score and a team-level view of the weakest behaviours.
    Done when:
You sign off the baseline as the measure for the rest of the engagement.
  3. 3

    Library and curriculum design

We draft one response for each priority objection using your own evidence, your senior sellers review and correct the wording, and the curriculum is sequenced so the costliest objections are drilled first.

    You provide:
Two review sessions with your strongest sellers, plus the product, pricing and service facts we may state.
    We produce:
The written objection library and a modular curriculum mapped to it.
    Done when:
Your team confirms the wording is something they would genuinely say.
  4. 4

    Workshops and drill

Modules run as short working sessions, each ending in drill. Reps take objections cold in front of peers, on the phone and face to face, including the buyer who goes quiet rather than argues.

    You provide:
Committed time from the full team, a room, and a manager present in every session.
    We produce:
Delivered workshops, recorded role-plays and written feedback per participant.
    Done when:
Everyone has handled each priority objection out loud, under pressure, more than once.
  5. 5

    Field application and reinforcement

The team applies the responses on live deals and logs the result. We review a sample with your manager, keep what works, rewrite what sounds stiff, and add objections we did not anticipate. Your manager takes over the weekly review here.

    You provide:
Continued call recordings, a weekly field log from each rep, and the manager's time.
    We produce:
Reviewed calls with feedback, a corrected library, and the manager guide and review agenda.
    Done when:
Your manager is running the weekly call review without us in the room.
  6. 6

    Certification, measurement and refresh

Each rep is certified against the agreed standard in live scenarios, and anyone short of it gets a focused re-run. We then report against the baseline across a quarter, covering call quality and the pipeline numbers agreed at the start.

    You provide:
Access to pipeline and CRM data for the reporting period.
    We produce:
A certification record, a measurement report against baseline, and a refresh plan.
    Done when:
You can see what changed in behaviour and in the numbers, and what to run next.

Ways to work with us

Take the response library, the drills, or the whole programme.

Objection audit and response library

A focused build with no workshops: we audit your calls and lost deals, rank the objections and write the agreed responses. Suited to a small team that will run its own practice sessions.

Team training programme

The full sequence for your sales team: baseline, library, curriculum, workshops with drill, field application and certification against an agreed standard.

Programme with manager reinforcement

The training programme plus a reinforcement period in which we train your managers, review calls with them each week and report against the baseline over a quarter.

New-joiner induction module

A repeatable version for teams that hire often, so each new rep works through the same library, drills and certification before carrying a target.

Why Gully Sales

What you are actually choosing when you choose us.

The material comes from your deals, not a template.

Every response in your library is written against something a real buyer said to your team, and reviewed by your own senior sellers before anyone is trained on it.

Training sits inside a sales system, not beside it.

Gully Sales builds sales processes, playbooks, CRM discipline and pipeline reviews. Objection handling plugs into those, so the responses show up in your CRM and your reviews, not only in a workshop.

We train the manager, because reinforcement is what lasts.

Your manager learns to score a call, run the weekly review and correct behaviour, so the standard keeps being applied after we step back.

We work in Indian SMB selling conditions.

Long payment terms, entrenched dealer relationships, family-run buyers and decisions that pause for a season. The responses assume that reality rather than an imported sales model.

We measure behaviour, not attendance.

Success is a scored call and movement against a baseline you agreed at the start, not a feedback form at the end of the day. If behaviour has not changed, we say so.

Where it applies

The same service, in different businesses.

Industrial equipment and engineering

The situation:
Buyers ask for a quotation after the site visit, compare it against two cheaper vendors, then stop replying.
How it applies:
Responses built around total cost over the machine's life, downtime, spares availability and service response, with the comparison points the engineer actually cares about.
Likely benefit:
Your team holds a price difference in the conversation instead of conceding it by email a week later.

Healthcare clinics and hospitals

The situation:
Patients and attendants hesitate at cost and at the need for a procedure, and the front desk responds by repeating the price.
How it applies:
Responses that address the real concern, outcome, safety, recovery time and payment options, delivered with the sensitivity a clinical setting requires.
Likely benefit:
Enquiries convert to consultations through a conversation that respects the patient rather than pushing them.

Building materials and interiors

The situation:
Contractors and architects already buy from a familiar dealer, and every conversation ends with we are comfortable with our current supplier.
How it applies:
A structured way to open an incumbent relationship: what to ask, which gap to look for, how to propose a trial order without attacking the existing supplier.
Likely benefit:
Reps have a route into accounts they previously wrote off after the first meeting.

Education and training institutes

The situation:
Parents compare fees against a nearby institute and ask for a discount before enrolment.
How it applies:
Responses built on outcomes, faculty, batch size and placement support, with a clear position on when a concession is offered and when it is not.
Likely benefit:
Counsellors defend fees consistently, so one discount conversation stops setting the price for everyone.

Proof

Work we can point to.

Agrinia, an agricultural technology business

The problem:
The sales team was without objection-handling techniques and high-impact questions, and without the pitches and call scripts that carry them into a real conversation.
What we did:
Gully Sales provided the team with objection-handling techniques, high-impact questions, sales pitches and call scripts, and trained it on closing technique including meeting preparation and win-loss debriefing.
The result:
The case study reports higher sales closure rates, with comprehensive training in sales techniques empowering the team to close deals more effectively.

Questions buyers ask

Before you enquire, the answers you will want.

How will classroom learning actually change what happens in the field?

The programme does not stop at the classroom. Every module ends in drill, not discussion. Between sessions each rep uses the responses on live deals and logs what happened, and we review a sample of those calls and correct what sounds stiff. Your manager then scores calls weekly against the same standard.

How is this different from general sales training?

General sales training covers the whole selling motion, from prospecting to closing. This programme takes one moment, where a buyer resists, and works it until your team is fluent. It is built on the objections your own buyers raise, in their words, and drilled to a certification standard.

How long does the engagement take?

It depends on team size, how many objections matter and whether the reinforcement period is included. An audit and response library is short. A full programme runs through baseline, library design, workshops, field application, manager reinforcement and certification, then reports over the following quarter. We put the sequence in writing after the free audit.

What do we need to provide?

Recorded calls or permission to sit in on live conversations, recent quotations, lost-deal notes and CRM access if you have one. Then committed time: the full team in the workshops, your senior sellers for two review sessions on wording, and your manager for reinforcement. The manager's time matters most, because reinforcement is what makes the change hold.

How do you measure success?

Against a baseline you agree before we begin: scored calls per rep, win rate by stage, quotation to order conversion, sales cycle length and average discount against list. We report on the same measures over a quarter, and we are explicit about what we control and what depends on your pricing, product and lead quality.

What is excluded from the scope?

We do not sell on your behalf, set your prices or rewrite your product. Lead generation, campaign work, CRM implementation and compensation design are separate engagements, though we will tell you when one of them is the real constraint. Negotiation and closing technique are related but distinct programmes.

Our prices are genuinely higher than our competitors. Can training fix that?

Training can help your team explain a real price difference with evidence, so the buyer compares value rather than a number. It cannot make an uncompetitive offer competitive. If your price sits out of line with the value you deliver, we will say so and point you towards pricing or positioning work instead.

Will the responses make our team sound scripted?

That is the risk we design against. The library gives a structure and the proof to use, not lines to recite, and your senior sellers review the wording before anyone is trained on it. Drill exists so the response becomes natural rather than memorised, and in field review we cut anything that sounds like a script.

2 more questions

Can you train in regional languages?

Yes. Most Indian sales conversations happen in a mix of English and a regional language, and a response only works in the language the buyer will hear. We build and drill the responses in the languages your team actually sells in, with your senior sellers fixing the phrasing.

What if we do not record our sales calls?

Many teams do not, and we start where you are. We run structured live assessments instead, sit in on meetings and calls, and reconstruct objections from quotations, follow-up messages and lost-deal conversations with your reps. We usually recommend introducing simple call recording during the engagement, with your team's knowledge.
