Employer branding · Technology

The first thing a candidate wants to know about you is the bench.

Employer branding for an IT services or consulting company turns on one question a candidate asks in round two: project or bench. The careers page, the job posts and what your consultants say have to answer it before the interview, and GullySales writes all three from those consultants.

A colliery lamp room seen from the counter: the roller shutter half up over a deep hatch, rows of cap lamps and their batteries hanging on hooks in the recess behind it, a rack of self-rescuers on the wall above, and a check-board of pegs beside the hatch with a single brass tally hanging on it where a lamp has gone out

Where this sits

For IT services and consulting companies

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • Your post calls people resources

A candidate reads the word and hears a line item on a client invoice. It is the single word that tells an experienced engineer what this place thinks of them, and it sits in most posts in the trade.

  • The bench question is never answered anywhere

Between projects, does somebody get training, a reduced salary, or three months of silence? Everybody asks it. When the site says nothing, the candidate believes the worst version they heard from a friend.

  • Deputation gets mentioned after the offer

A role in Bengaluru turns out to be eighteen months at a client site in Pune, or a shift matched to the client's hours. Said at the start it is a trade-off. Said at the offer stage it is a betrayal, and the candidate tells everybody.

  • The training agreement is discussed last

Freshers sign a service agreement they do not understand and their parents find out months later. Whatever your terms are, somebody who read them on your site before applying does not turn into a dispute in month nine.

What we do

What we deliver for IT services and consulting companies.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A careers page that answers allocation

How projects are assigned, what happens between them, and who decides. Written with your delivery heads so it matches how the bench is run rather than how the policy document reads.

Result: The question that used to take twenty minutes of every interview is settled before the call.

  2. Job posts tied to real projects

One post per opening, naming the kind of client, the city, the shift and the work, instead of a nine-technology wish list assembled from three proposals.

Result: Applicants who match the project rather than the keyword.

  3. The service agreement in plain language

The training period, the notice and any bond, written the way your own HR and counsel confirm them. We do not advise on what the terms should be or whether they hold.

Result: Nothing at the offer stage that the candidate has not already read.

  4. Profiles of people who changed projects

Consultants describing the move from one client to another, what they learned and what they lost. The ones who found it hard are more useful here than the ones who found it easy.

Result: An honest picture of a career here instead of a promise of growth.

  5. Campus and referral material

A short deck and a post format for engineering college placement cells, plus lines your consultants can send to a batchmate.

Result: Both hiring routes say the same thing, so nobody is surprised in week one.

How the result is measured

  • Applications received per open role
  • Careers page engagement and time on page
  • Candidate drop-off during the interview process
  • Referral hires as a share of total hires

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, then reported every month against it.

How it works

From your first message to the first monthly report.

No open-ended retainer. Each step has a point in time and something you receive.

  1. 01 · Day 1

    Free audit call

45 minutes with whoever handles your enquiries: how they arrive, how fast they are answered, where they are lost.

  2. 02 · Within a few working days

    Written, scored report

Six areas scored, fixes ranked by return and cost. If you want our help, the scope and fee come with it, in writing.

  3. 03 · Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

Enquiries by source, reply time, conversion and cost per order, written down so every later month has an honest comparison.

  4. 04 · Month 1

    The first fix goes live

Usually the cheapest one on the report: reply time, a follow-up sequence or the marketing-to-sales handover.

  5. 05 · Every month

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words.

  6. 06 · Month 3 to 6

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. No twelve-month lock.

How the work runs for IT services and consulting companies

  1. 1

    Talk to current employees

We interview a cross-section of staff honestly, including some who might raise uncomfortable points.

  2. 2

Find the genuine reasons to join

We identify what is actually true and attractive about working there, rather than generic claims that could apply anywhere.

  3. 3

    Build the careers content

The careers page, job post templates and employee stories are written from what staff actually said.

  4. 4

    Review the candidate experience

We check what happens between application and offer, since branding cannot fix a process that loses candidates through delay.

  5. 5

    Hand over and refresh periodically

Content is handed over for ongoing use and revisited periodically as the team and roles change.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every monthly report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No lock-in, no guarantees we cannot keep

Three to six months at a time. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.

#257, 3rd floor, Sri Nanjundeshwara Complex, Nagarbhavi 8th Block, Outer Ring Road. How we work.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Do you supply consultants or run our payroll?
Neither. GullySales does not recruit, does not maintain a candidate database, and has nothing to do with payroll, invoicing or offers. We write what a candidate reads before they apply, and your recruitment team takes it from there.
Should we publish the bond terms? Nobody else does.
Publish them. A candidate finds out from a forum or a batchmate anyway, and the version they find is worse than yours. Have your own counsel approve the wording, because the agreement is yours and so is the risk of describing it wrongly.
People sit on the bench for months and appraisals are frozen. Will this help?
No, and we would say so on the audit call rather than take the work. Advertising a place people leave inside a year only makes the churn faster and cheaper to observe. Sort out allocation first.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped in the free audit and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
Three to six months at a time. There is no twelve-month lock, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
Fixes to reply time, follow-up and your Google Business Profile usually show in weeks, because the enquiries already exist. Ads show in days once follow-up is ready. SEO and content take months. The audit tells you which applies to you.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you meet on the audit call. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
For the audit, last month's enquiries in any format and 45 minutes with whoever handles them. After that, access to the accounts the work touches, such as the website, Google Business Profile or CRM, and time for the monthly review.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Every month is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. Terms run three to six months at a time, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
