Car detailing studios · Analytics and reporting

See which service actually brings in repeat customers, not just one-time bookings.

Business analytics for a car detailing studio means tracking bookings by service type and customer. This shows which services, such as ceramic coating, actually bring customers back on a schedule versus one-time washes. GullySales sets up this tracking and reports it against the baseline.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What analytics and reporting means

Analytics and reporting is tracking where each enquiry actually came from, be it a search, an advert or a walk-in, instead of guessing which channel is working. GullySales builds this tracking from the first conversation and sends a plain report by enquiry source rather than by activity done.

For car detailing studios

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “Repeat rate by service reveals where the real value is”

A studio might discover that ceramic coating customers return for maintenance far more reliably than one-time wash customers, which should shape where marketing effort goes.

  • “Booking source tracking shows what is actually working”

Tracking whether a booking came from Google, Instagram or a dealership referral shows clearly where to spend more effort, rather than guessing from impression.

  • “Bay utilisation is a number worth watching, not just revenue”

A studio tracking how full its bays are by day and hour can spot slow periods worth promoting specifically, rather than assuming demand is evenly spread.

What we do

What we deliver for car detailing studios.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. Repeat rate by service type

Tracking of repeat bookings by service, such as ceramic coating against one-time washes, reported against a baseline.

Result: You see which service actually keeps customers coming back.

  2. Booking source tracking

A record of whether each booking came from Google, Instagram or a dealership referral.

Result: You know where to put more effort instead of guessing.

  3. Bay utilisation by day and hour

Tracking of how full your bays are by day and hour, to spot slow periods worth promoting.

Result: A quiet weekday becomes a period worth targeting, not ignoring.

  4. Analytics report against baseline

A report of these numbers against the baseline recorded before work started.

Result: You see whether bookings and repeat visits are moving in the right direction.

How the result is measured

  • Enquiries by source
  • Cost per enquiry by channel
  • Conversion rate by channel

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

One booking sheet, six columns

One booking sheet with six columns shows which service brings the car back.

Service and package
Record ceramic coating with its grade, PPF by panel or full body, interior deep clean or a plain wash. Repeat rates only compare when services are named the same way each time.
Car make, model and registration
Record the registration number on every visit. Owners change phones and families run two cars, so the car is the thing to count as repeat, not the caller.
Booking source
Pick one of Google, Instagram, dealership referral with the dealer's name, walk-in or existing customer. A fixed list is what makes the totals add up later.
Bay days used
Note the date the car came in and the date it left. A coating job holds a bay for days, and utilisation by day cannot be judged from the invoice date alone.
Maintenance wash due date
Set the date at handover and mark whether the car came back for it. This is the simplest test of whether your coating customers truly return.
Review asked and received
Tick the day of the reveal if a review was requested, and later if one arrived. It shows whether asking at the right moment makes a difference.

Who it is for

This is written for these car detailing studios.

  • Mobile car detailing services
  • Studio-based detailing centres
  • Ceramic coating and PPF specialists
  • Bike detailing and coating studios
  • Fleet and dealership detailing partners
  • Luxury and exotic car detailing specialists
  • Interior deep cleaning specialists
  • Car wash and quick service outlets

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • Bookings are not written down by service and date, so a report would summarise guesses.
  • Nobody at the studio will read the sheet and change what is offered, so the figures would sit unused.

How it works

How the analytics and reporting work runs

The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.

  1. 1

    Understand what counts as success

We agree what a good enquiry looks like for your business before measuring anything.

  2. 2

    Audit current tracking

We check which forms, calls and WhatsApp clicks are tracked correctly, which are half tracked, and which are not tracked at all. Duplicate and misfiring tags turn up at this stage.

  3. 3

    Set up shared tracking

Analytics, forms, call tracking and the CRM are connected, and every live link is tagged to the sheet. A test enquiry is sent through each route to confirm it arrives with its source.

  4. 4

    Build the reporting format

A single report template is agreed, so each period's numbers are comparable to the last. Each platform's own figure sits beside the figure from your register, with the gap explained.

  5. 5

    Report and adjust

Numbers are reported with a recommendation, and campaigns are adjusted based on what the numbers show.

Where this fits

Three pieces of sales work, in this order.

This work sits inside sales process design, at stage 1, prospecting and lead generation. The audit comes before it, and sales management keeps it running.

  1. Step 1

    Sales audit

Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.

Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.

  2. Step 2 · you are here

    Sales process design

One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.

Start here if every salesperson sells differently.

  3. Step 3

    Sales management

A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

Start here if the team has targets and no routine.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

What does a small studio need to start tracking this?
A simple booking record noting service type and source is enough to begin, before considering any dedicated software.
How often should this be reviewed?
Monthly is usually enough to spot trends without overreacting to a single slow or busy week.
How do we count a customer who books two services at different times?
Give each car a row per visit, with the registration number repeated, and count repeat by car. A customer who first had interior cleaning and returned for a coating is one car with two visits, which tells you which service opened the door.
How do we tell whether the free maintenance wash is paying for itself?
Log each maintenance wash as its own service with the bay time it takes. After a season, compare which cars returned for paid work afterwards. If the washes crowd out coating bookings, move them to the slow days that the bay record shows.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
