CPA and accounting firms · Pay per click advertising

Buying clicks in March fills the season you already cannot staff.

Pay per click advertising for a CPA firm earns its place on high value work, such as an IRS resolution or a monthly accounting retainer. GullySales sets the campaigns to the niche, blocks the price shoppers who arrive looking for a cheap return, and measures proposals rather than clicks.

What pay per click advertising means

Pay per click advertising (PPC) is paying a fee each time someone clicks your advert on Google or another platform. It puts you at the top of a search page immediately, instead of waiting for ranking to build. GullySales sets the targeting, writes the ad text and checks spend daily against enquiries received.

For CPA and accounting firms

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • The cheapest clicks bring the work you want to shed

Tax preparer near me is a price search. The owner typing it is comparing you with a storefront at a strip mall.

  • Advertising is regulated as promotion

Claims about outcomes, savings and rankings fall under the AICPA rules and your state board's own conditions, and the licence at risk is yours.

  • Timing decides the price and the value

Costs rise through the spring, when your capacity is gone. The same budget in June buys advisory conversations you can actually take.

What we do

What we deliver for CPA and accounting firms.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. Campaigns limited to the work you want

Separate campaigns for your niche, for monthly accounting and for notice resolution, each with its own budget and its own page, instead of one campaign for accounting.

Result: Spend goes to engagements worth a partner's time.

  2. A negative keyword list for price and software searches

Blocks on free filing, refund calculators, software names, tax preparer jobs and the student searches that arrive every January.

Result: The budget stops paying for people who were never going to hire a firm.

  3. Landing pages written for one engagement

Each advert lands on a page about that single piece of work, with what is included, how pricing is set and a short form asking for entity type and revenue.

Result: The enquiry arrives with enough detail to scope.

  4. Ad copy checked against professional conduct rules

Claims written so nothing promises a refund, a saving or an outcome, with your state board's advertising conditions on the record before anything runs.

Result: Nothing goes live that a board complaint could be built on.

  5. Spend read against proposals and accepted work

Every advert enquiry tagged into the proposal record, so the monthly report shows proposals sent, accepted and their value against the spend.

Result: You can say what an accepted engagement cost to win.

How the result is measured

  • Cost per click
  • Cost per enquiry
  • Enquiries from paid search

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, then reported every month against it.

Who it is for

This is written for these CPA and accounting firms.

  • Sole practitioners and two-partner firms
  • Multi-partner regional firms
  • Tax-only practices
  • Client accounting and advisory service teams
  • Audit and assurance practices doing non-profit and benefit plan work
  • Niche firms serving a single industry
  • Bookkeeping firms adding tax work
  • Firms preparing for succession or a sale
  • New firms in their first two years

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • You want a guaranteed Google ranking or a guaranteed number of leads. Nobody honest can promise either.
  • You need enquiries by next week and have nobody to answer them.
  • You want posts and reach reported, not enquiries and orders.

How it works

From your first message to the first monthly report.

No open-ended retainer. Each step has a point in time and something you receive.

  1. 01 · Day 1

    Free audit call

45 minutes with whoever handles your enquiries: how they arrive, how fast they are answered, where they are lost.

  2. 02 · Within a few working days

    Written, scored report

Six areas scored, fixes ranked by return and cost. If you want our help, the scope and fee come with it, in writing.

  3. 03 · Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

Enquiries by source, reply time, conversion and cost per order, written down so every later month has an honest comparison.

  4. 04 · Month 1

    The first fix goes live

Usually the cheapest one on the report: reply time, a follow-up sequence or the marketing-to-sales handover.

  5. 05 · Every month

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words.

  6. 06 · Month 3 to 6

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. No twelve-month lock.

How the work runs for CPA and accounting firms

  1. 1

    Assess

In the free audit we look at where clients came from, revenue per client, proposals sent against proposals accepted, and what happens between May and August.

  2. 2

Decide what you want more of

One or two niches and a service mix chosen against capacity and price, with a written note of the work the firm will stop taking.

  3. 3

    Rebuild the front door

Niche pages, the profile, the partner bios and the proof, written so a prospect can recognise their own business on the page.

  4. 4

    Fix the proposal

A qualifying call, a scope template and a fixed-fee proposal that goes out in two days, with a follow-up on every one that goes quiet.

  5. 5

    Market when you can answer

The campaign runs May to August, year-end planning goes out in November, and January to April is triage rather than promotion.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every monthly report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No lock-in, no guarantees we cannot keep

Three to six months at a time. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • Hours that fit your day, agreed up front

Which hours we overlap with yours is settled before any work starts, so you know when a reply is coming and when it is not.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Can we say we are the best firm in town?
No. Superlatives and comparisons are exactly what the misleading promotion rules are aimed at, and your state board may go further. Say what you do and for whom, and let the specifics carry it.
Should we bid on competitors' names?
We advise against it. It is expensive, it annoys peers who also refer work, and some boards take a dim view of it. Ask yours before anybody suggests it again.
Are we allowed to advertise this way?
Yes, within limits. The AICPA Code of Professional Conduct rules out false, misleading or deceptive promotion, and your state board adds its own conditions, including how the CPA title may be used. Commission and contingent fee restrictions also shape what may be promoted and to whom. Your state board has the last word and we write to it.
Do you do bookkeeping or tax preparation too?
No, and it is worth saying plainly, because that is what most firms cold-calling your practice are selling. We are a sales and marketing firm. We never touch a client return, a trial balance or client tax data, and we ask for no access to your tax software.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped in the free audit and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
Three to six months at a time. There is no twelve-month lock, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
Fixes to reply time, follow-up and your Google Business Profile usually show in weeks, because the enquiries already exist. Ads show in days once follow-up is ready. SEO and content take months. The audit tells you which applies to you.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you meet on the audit call. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
For the audit, last month's enquiries in any format and 45 minutes with whoever handles them. After that, access to the accounts the work touches, such as the website, Google Business Profile or CRM, and time for the monthly review.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Every month is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. Terms run three to six months at a time, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
