CPA and accounting firms · Reputation management

You cannot answer a bad review by saying what really happened.

Reputation for a CPA firm is what a banker hears, what a prospect reads, and what staff say on hiring sites when capacity is your real constraint. GullySales sets up the review routine, drafts replies that disclose nothing about a client, and watches the profiles where a complaint appears first.

A statue plinth seen close: the bronze figure implied only by its feet and the hem of its drapery above the top of the frame, one face of the stone pedestal scrubbed pale and the other still grimy and carrying a scrawl of paint, with a pressure hose coiled on the steps beside a bucket, brushes and cloths

What reputation management means

Reputation management is watching what is said about your business across Google, social media and review sites, and responding to it before it changes a buyer's mind. GullySales monitors mentions, drafts responses to negative reviews and flags recurring complaints back to your team.

For CPA and accounting firms

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • Confidentiality cuts off the obvious defence

You may not confirm that someone is a client, let alone correct their account of the engagement. The reply has to work inside that.

  • The worst reviews come from the clients you were going to release

A fee increase or a handover letter turns into a public complaint, which is a reason to plan the wording before the letters go out.

  • Hiring reviews cost you client capacity

Staff pages read by a senior deciding where to spend their next busy season decide whether you can take on more work at all.

What we do

What we deliver for CPA and accounting firms.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A review routine timed to a finished piece of work

The ask goes out after a filed return or a resolved notice, from the person who did the work, with wording that keeps the client's details out of it.

Result: Recent reviews appear without anybody chasing clients.

  2. Reply templates that disclose nothing

Drafted responses for the common complaints about fees, deadlines and responsiveness, written so no engagement is confirmed or described.

Result: Nobody writes a reply at midnight that a board could read.

  3. Permission on file before a name is used

A short written consent covering the client's name, the quote and where it may appear, kept on record and checked before any page goes live.

Result: Proof is published without a confidentiality problem behind it.

  4. A wording plan for repricing and release letters

The fee letter and the handover note written so a client leaves with somewhere to go, which is the difference between a shrug and a review.

Result: The pruning happens without a public argument.

  5. A watch on the profiles that matter

The firm's listing, the directories and the hiring sites monitored, with a named person who sees it first and a rule for what gets answered.

Result: You find out before a prospect or a recruit does.

How the result is measured

  • Average rating
  • Response time to reviews
  • Negative mentions resolved

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, then reported every month against it.

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • You want a guaranteed Google ranking or a guaranteed number of leads. Nobody honest can promise either.
  • You need enquiries by next week and have nobody to answer them.
  • You want posts and reach reported, not enquiries and orders.

How it works

From your first message to the first monthly report.

No open-ended retainer. Each step has a point in time and something you receive.

  1. 01 · Day 1

    Free audit call

45 minutes with whoever handles your enquiries: how they arrive, how fast they are answered, where they are lost.

  2. 02 · Within a few working days

    Written, scored report

Six areas scored, fixes ranked by return and cost. If you want our help, the scope and fee come with it, in writing.

  3. 03 · Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

Enquiries by source, reply time, conversion and cost per order, written down so every later month has an honest comparison.

  4. 04 · Month 1

    The first fix goes live

Usually the cheapest one on the report: reply time, a follow-up sequence or the marketing-to-sales handover.

  5. 05 · Every month

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words.

  6. 06 · Month 3 to 6

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. No twelve-month lock.

How the work runs for CPA and accounting firms

  1. 1

    Assess

In the free audit we look at where clients came from, revenue per client, proposals sent against proposals accepted, and what happens between May and August.

  2. 2

Decide what you want more of

One or two niches and a service mix chosen against capacity and price, with a written note of the work the firm will stop taking.

  3. 3

    Rebuild the front door

Niche pages, the profile, the partner bios and the proof, written so a prospect can recognise their own business on the page.

  4. 4

    Fix the proposal

A qualifying call, a scope template and a fixed-fee proposal that goes out in two days, with a follow-up on every one that goes quiet.

  5. 5

    Market when you can answer

The campaign runs May to August, year-end planning goes out in November, and January to April is triage rather than promotion.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every monthly report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No lock-in, no guarantees we cannot keep

Three to six months at a time. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • Hours that fit your day, agreed up front

Which hours we overlap with yours is settled before any work starts, so you know when a reply is coming and when it is not.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

A former client posted something untrue. Can we correct it?
Not with the facts of the engagement. Reply briefly, invite them to call the managing partner, and leave it there. Your state board and your own counsel set the limits here.
Are testimonials allowed at all?
Yes in most states, with permission and without misleading claims, though the conditions differ and some boards say more than others. Get your board's position in writing before you build a page around them.
Are we allowed to advertise this way?
Yes, within limits. The AICPA Code of Professional Conduct rules out false, misleading or deceptive promotion, and your state board adds its own conditions, including how the CPA title may be used. Commission and contingent fee restrictions also shape what may be promoted and to whom. Your state board has the last word and we write to it.
Do you do bookkeeping or tax preparation too?
No, and it is worth saying plainly, because that is what most firms cold-calling your practice are selling. We are a sales and marketing firm. We never touch a client return, a trial balance or client tax data, and we ask for no access to your tax software.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped in the free audit and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
Three to six months at a time. There is no twelve-month lock, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
Fixes to reply time, follow-up and your Google Business Profile usually show in weeks, because the enquiries already exist. Ads show in days once follow-up is ready. SEO and content take months. The audit tells you which applies to you.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you meet on the audit call. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
For the audit, last month's enquiries in any format and 45 minutes with whoever handles them. After that, access to the accounts the work touches, such as the website, Google Business Profile or CRM, and time for the monthly review.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Every month is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. Terms run three to six months at a time, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
