E-commerce · Packaging Supplies
The carton is two centimetres too small, so the buyer orders from someone with a size chart.
Boxes have to hold a product, survive a journey and fit the shelf, the courier's weight slab or the pallet. The buyer therefore starts with a measuring tape and a weight, and the supplier who can match both on the page gets the call.
A 90-minute audit call and a written, scored report. Turnaround, reporting and term are agreed in writing after the audit.
In one paragraph
Boxes are the corrugated cartons, die-cut boxes and printed folding cartons that products are packed and shipped in, bought by size, ply and quantity. GullySales builds the size tables, the made-to-size request and the follow-up on each quotation, so a buyer who needs a particular box finds yours and orders again.
Standard sizes and made-to-size work are two different sales. One is a catalogue and a price break. The other is a conversation about a sample, a die and an artwork, and the site has to handle both without confusing them.
Last updated 7 Oct 2026. Product, labelling and advertising rules for packaging supplies differ by product and change. We describe them in general terms, so check the current position with your own adviser or the regulator before you publish a claim.
Who it is for
This is written for you if you sell boxes online.
- Corrugated box makers selling standard and made-to-size cartons
- Folding carton and die-cut box printers who serve brands and shops
- Traders who stock cartons by size for local buyers
- Rigid and gift box makers who sell to jewellers, sweet shops and hamper sellers
Not for
It is not the right fit if.
- A plant that makes only huge runs for a few large customers. It does not need a catalogue online.
- Anyone who cannot give a size and a price without a visit. The buyer will not wait for it.
How buyers choose
What decides the sale of boxes.
Internal size, not outside size
The buyer measures the product plus a gap for cushioning. Inside length, width and height in the unit they use, and the weight the box holds, are the columns of the table that matter.
Three-ply, five-ply, and what they mean
Ply and strength grade are asked about by any buyer who has had a box collapse. Plain wording on what each is for, such as books against glassware, saves a phone call.
Stock size or made to size
A seller with a new product has no standard size to buy. They want to know if you make to a size, whether a tool or die is charged and the minimum order for a new size.
Printing on the box
Brands decide on one-colour or full-colour print, matte or gloss, and ask for a proof. The artwork format and what a printed minimum run is should be stated on the page.
Where sales are lost
What usually goes wrong when you sell boxes online.
In the words sellers use on the first call.
“Buyers do not know their box size”
A size finder that takes the product's length, width, height and weight, and returns the stock size and a cushioning allowance, answers the question the buyer cannot.
“Made-to-size enquiries drag on with no answer”
They need a drawing, a sample and a quotation, and each waits on the other. A request form that takes the product dimensions and an uploaded photograph starts the process in one go.
“Our printed cartons come back for colour”
A buyer's idea of the colour is a phone screen. A proof, written approval and a note that shades differ between screen and print prevent the dispute.
“Local buyers phone us because they cannot see the price”
Buyers who see no price move to a supplier who shows one. A starting price per piece at stated quantities draws them back.
The scope
The work we would propose for boxes.
Measured on qualified enquiries, quotation requests, follow-up, orders won and repeat orders. Anything here that needs a platform or tool we have not used with you is confirmed in the audit before it goes in the scope.
- Size table by usePages grouped by what is packed, such as books, bottles, garments, sweets and electronics, each with sizes, ply, weight limit and pack quantity.
- Box size finderA simple tool that takes the product measurements and weight and suggests a stock size. Built if the audit shows enough buyers need it.
- Made-to-size requestA form that takes the dimensions, weight, quantity, print needs and a photograph, so an estimate and a sample can be arranged from the first contact.
- Quotation follow-upA date and a name against every made-to-size quotation, because a buyer will compare it with two others.
Printing guide and artwork upload
A page on artwork formats, colour proof and what the buyer approves before printing. It makes brands comfortable ordering custom work.
What we do
What you get for boxes.
Each deliverable and what it is there to change.
A stock size chart
All sizes in one table by inside dimension and weight limit, with the price at each quantity. It answers most calls before they come.
A made-to-size request page
A form asking for what the estimator needs, with a message on what happens next. It shortens the route to a quotation.
A printing and artwork guide
Formats, proof, approval and the minimum for a printed run. It prevents the colour dispute.
A box strength explanation
A plain page on ply and strength for common products. It stops buyers choosing too light a carton and blaming you.
How the result is measured
- Qualified enquiries
- Quotation requests
- Made-to-size requests
- Follow-up on each quotation
- Orders won
- Repeat orders
Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.
How it works
From your first message to the first report.
No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.
First
Free audit call
90 minutes with whoever handles your enquiries: how they arrive, how fast they are answered, where they are lost.
After the call
Written, scored report
Six areas scored, fixes ranked by return and cost. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come with it, in writing.
Before work starts
Baseline recorded
Enquiries by source, reply time, conversion and cost per order, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.
After the baseline
The first fix goes live
Usually the cheapest one on the report: reply time, a follow-up sequence or the marketing-to-sales handover.
As agreed
Report against the baseline
What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.
At renewal
Renew on the numbers
The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.
What we need from you
What to have ready before the audit call.
None of it has to be tidy. We read what you have.
- Your stock sizes with ply, weight limits and prices at each quantity
- Samples or photographs of printed work you have done
- The charge, if any, for a new die or tool
- Your usual pack quantities and delivery area
- A list of your repeat buyers by what they order
Selling in India and abroad
Selling boxes beyond your own market.
Where you sell decides sizes, units, seasons and returns. We work from Bengaluru and have no overseas office, so for a new country we start from your own sales and the platforms you already use.
Export cartons carry more
A buyer shipping by sea asks about strength for stacking, moisture and palletising. The page should say which of your cartons are made for export loads.
Sizes in inches and centimetres
Overseas buyers use one or the other, sometimes both. Showing both in the table prevents a wrong order.

Why us
Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.
Marketing and sales, as one job
Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.
The person on the first call does the work
No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.
A baseline before anything starts
Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.
The fee in writing, split three ways
Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.
No guarantees we cannot keep
The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.
One office, and we say so
Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.

Option 4
Guidance for your own team or agency
