The shade looked right in the shop and wrong in the bedroom.

An interior paint buyer is choosing a colour for a room they will live in for years, and most of the choice is anxiety. Will the cream turn yellow in the evening light. Will the matt show every handprint. Will the smell clear before the guests arrive.

A 90-minute audit call and a written, scored report. Turnaround, reporting and term are agreed in writing after the audit.

In one paragraph

Interior paints are the emulsions, primers and wall putty used on the inside walls and ceilings of homes, offices and shops. GullySales builds shade-by-shade pages, a room and finish guide and a litre estimator, and follows up the painter or homeowner who asked for a bulk price.

The product is nearly the same across sellers, so the sale is made by who answers those worries first. That is a page-writing and follow-up problem, and a paint dealer who has spent years answering them over the counter already knows the words.

Who it is for

This is written for you if you sell interior paints online.

  • Paint brands and dealers selling emulsions, primers and putty on their own store
  • Sellers who give shade advice by WhatsApp and want the same help to work on the website
  • Distributors serving painters and interior contractors who order for several flats at once
  • Stores that sell wall putty, primer and ceiling paint as a set for a repaint

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • A seller who cannot say what the shade code looks like in daylight. Colour is the whole sale here, and bad photographs cost it.
  • Sellers who only supply new construction projects under builder contracts. The buyer is a purchase desk, not a homeowner.

How buyers choose

What decides the sale of interior paints.

  1. Room, light and mood

People search for a bedroom colour, a living room colour for a north-facing room, or a shade to match the sofa. Pages that show the same shade in morning and evening light answer the worry that decides the sale.

  2. Matt, satin or sheen

The buyer asks whether it can be wiped, whether it hides uneven plaster and whether it will look flat. A line on washability and a photograph of the finish on a real wall do more than the word premium.

  3. Putty and primer, or not

A repaint over an old distemper wall needs different preparation from fresh plaster. The buyer wants to be told, in order, what goes on first, and many buy the primer only because the page said so.

  4. Smell, drying and move-in dates

Families repaint before a festival, a guest visit or a new baby. They ask how soon the room can be used. Quote what is printed on your tin and nothing more.

Where sales are lost

What usually goes wrong when you sell interior paints online.

In the words sellers use on the first call.

  • “Shoppers browse shades for weeks and do not order”

A shade browser is a buyer in no hurry. A sample pot, a saved palette and a reminder when they are near a repaint date keep them from forgetting you.

  • “The painter says to buy a different brand”

The painter often decides the brand, because they have to apply it. A trade page with application notes and a price list gets you into that decision.

  • “They order the wrong size and come back for more”

A second tin from a different batch can look slightly different on the wall. So the quantity guess matters more than it seems, and the page should say to buy enough in one go.

  • “Customers ask which paint to use and we answer on WhatsApp for free”

That conversation is the sale. If it lives in one person's phone, it is lost when they are away. A short guided questionnaire collects room, wall condition and budget before the call.

What we do

What you get for interior paints.

Each deliverable and what it is there to change.

  1. A wall condition guide

Which preparation fits fresh plaster, old emulsion, distemper, a damp-marked wall. It sells the putty and primer along with the paint.

  2. A shade page for every code

Name, code, daylight photograph and nearby shades. Buyers searching by code reach you instead of a rival's page.

  3. A room-size litre chart

A simple table by room size and coats, with the assumptions shown. It cuts the gap between what was bought and what was needed.

  4. A painter's price sheet

Pack sizes and trade rates in one file that can be sent on WhatsApp, with reorder by message.

How the result is measured

  • Purchases and conversion rate
  • Average order value
  • Quotation requests from painters
  • Repeat orders
  • Sample pot requests
  • Share of orders that include primer or putty

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Free audit call

90 minutes with whoever handles your enquiries: how they arrive, how fast they are answered, where they are lost.

  2. After the call

    Written, scored report

Six areas scored, fixes ranked by return and cost. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come with it, in writing.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

Enquiries by source, reply time, conversion and cost per order, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

Usually the cheapest one on the report: reply time, a follow-up sequence or the marketing-to-sales handover.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

What we need from you

What to have ready before the audit call.

None of it has to be tidy. We read what you have.

  • Your shade card, with codes and finish options
  • Photographs of shades on real walls, if any exist
  • The data sheets for each emulsion, primer and putty
  • A sample of the questions customers ask on WhatsApp
  • Your sales by pack size and the months they peak

Selling in India and abroad

Selling interior paints beyond your own market.

Where you sell decides sizes, units, seasons and returns. We work from Bengaluru and have no overseas office, so for a new country we start from your own sales and the platforms you already use.

  1. Indoor paint is a heavy export

A pail of emulsion is weight and volume for a small order, and freight can exceed the product. Start by looking at which export enquiries your platforms already receive.

  2. Local standards for indoor air

Overseas markets have their own labelling for indoor paints. What your product needs to carry is for a forwarder or the destination's authority to confirm.

FAQ

Questions about selling interior paints online.

How do I help customers pick a shade when they cannot see it?
Show every shade in at least two kinds of light and offer a sample pot. A pot costs you little compared with a returned tin. Add a line that screens do not show true colour.
Should I sell putty and primer on the same page as the paint?
Yes, as a suggested set. A buyer who is not told about primer usually skips it, and the finish suffers. Say what each coat is for and let them add them in one click.
Do I need a visualiser tool that paints a photo of the room?
Not at first. A good tool is expensive and a buyer still wants a real sample. We would put shade photographs and a sample pot first and look at a visualiser only if your orders justify it.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped in the free audit and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after the audit, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
Fixes to reply time, follow-up and your Google Business Profile are the quickest to show, because the enquiries already exist. Ads can follow soon after follow-up is in place. SEO and content take longer. How long each takes depends on your business, and the audit tells you which applies to you. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you meet on the audit call. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
For the audit, last month's enquiries in any format and 90 minutes with whoever handles them. After that, access to the accounts the work touches, such as the website, Google Business Profile or CRM, and time for the review meetings.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.
