Cricket academies · Buyer persona

The parent pays, the child decides to stay, and the academy must win both.

A buyer persona for a cricket academy describes the people in the decision: the parent who pays, the child who must want to return, and the school teacher or friend who suggested the name. GullySales works on writing those people down from your own enquiries.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What buyer persona means

A buyer persona is a plain description of the kind of customer who actually buys from you. It includes what they search, what worries them and who else they ask before deciding. GullySales builds this from real enquiries and past sales rather than a generic template, then uses it to write every page and advert.

For cricket academies

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “The paying parent worries about safety and time”

The parent who writes the cheque thinks about the drive after work, the injury risk and the tuition clash. The coach's record matters less than whether the evening fits the household. Messages that address those concerns get replies.

  • “The child has a veto that arrives in the third week”

A child who dislikes the group or the coach stops asking to go. The family then leaves quietly, and the academy never learns why. The child is a second buyer who needs a first session that feels good.

  • “The dreaming parent and the practical parent want different things”

One parent pictures an India cap, the other counts fees against a school year. An academy that speaks only to the dream loses the practical parent, and the reverse. Both appear in the same household.

  • “The recommender is rarely the buyer”

A sports teacher, a physiotherapist or a neighbour names the academy. They do not pay and are never thanked. Knowing who these people are lets the academy keep them informed and give them somewhere to send a family.

What we do

What we deliver for cricket academies.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. Written personas from your own enquiries

The anxious first-time parent, the ambitious parent and the transferring family, each built from real conversations.

Result: Your team describes the same parent the same way.

  2. A list of what each persona asks first

The first questions each persona raises, and the answer that settles it.

Result: Replies address the actual worry.

  3. A child's first-session checklist

What makes a nervous child want to come back: a name used, a small success, a friendly group.

Result: The first session is designed for the child as well.

  4. A map of recommenders

Teachers, physiotherapists, shop owners and neighbouring parents, noted with how each reaches families.

Result: You know who sends families, and who has never heard from you.

  5. Reasons for leaving, recorded

A simple question to every departing family, noted without argument.

Result: The academy sees why families go, not just that they do.

How the result is measured

  • Enquiry match to persona
  • Conversion rate by persona
  • Content aligned to persona

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

  • Neighbourhood cricket academies

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Your brief

You tell us what you need in a few short steps: your business, what you want, where enquiries come from and how they are handled.

  2. After the brief

A conversation and a written scope

We read it, then talk with whoever handles your enquiries. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come in writing, and nothing starts before you have read them.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

The numbers this work is meant to move, such as enquiries, quotations, orders, visits or renewals, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

The fix we agreed to start with is put in place and measured against the baseline, whether that is a reply, a follow-up, a page, a listing or the handover between marketing and sales.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

How the buyer persona work runs

  1. 1

    Understand the current view

We start with how your team currently describes the customer, since the gap between belief and reality is often the finding itself.

  2. 2

    Audit past enquiries and sales

We look at recent enquiries and closed deals to see who actually bought, not who was assumed to buy.

  3. 3

    Interview customers and staff

Short, structured conversations surface the real language, worries and triggers behind a purchase.

  4. 4

    Build the personas

Findings are written into short, usable persona documents rather than a long report.

  5. 5

    Apply to your marketing

We show exactly where each persona should change a page, an ad or a script you already have.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

How many personas do we need?
Keep the number small enough that nobody forgets one. Start with the families you already have, group them by what they asked first, and revise as enquiries come in.
Should we ask the children what they think?
Yes, informally, through the coach after a session. A child's answer shows whether the group and the coaching suit them, and it reaches the academy before the parent decides to leave.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
