Hospitals · Buyer persona
Write down who actually decides, the patient, the family or the referring doctor.
A buyer persona for a hospital describes who makes the admission decision for a given department. A young patient chooses for themselves, while an elderly patient's admission is usually decided by their children. GullySales builds a persona per priority department so the pages and calls speak to the right person.
Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What buyer persona means
A buyer persona is a plain description of the kind of customer who actually buys from you. It includes what they search, what worries them and who else they ask before deciding. GullySales builds this from real enquiries and past sales rather than a generic template, then uses it to write every page and advert.

For hospitals
Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.
“For elderly care, the adult child is the persona”
A son or daughter searching for a cardiac specialist for a parent reads reviews and calls on their own time, often from another city.
“For maternity, the couple researches together”
Both partners look at doctor profiles and delivery packages, so the page needs to answer questions for two readers.
“The referring doctor is a persona too”
A GP choosing where to send a patient cares about turnaround and communication back to them, not the hospital's tagline.
What we do
What we deliver for hospitals.
Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.
A persona per priority department
A written profile of who actually decides for each department, the patient, the family or the referring doctor.
Result: Each department's pages and calls speak to the person who is really deciding.
An adult-child persona for elderly care
A profile of the son or daughter who searches and calls on behalf of an elderly parent, often from another city.
Result: Content answers the questions an adult child actually has.
A couple persona for maternity
A profile written for both partners researching doctor profiles and delivery packages together.
Result: The maternity page answers questions for both readers, not just one.
A referring doctor persona
A profile of the GP who chooses where to send a patient, focused on turnaround and communication back to them.
Result: A referring doctor gets what they actually care about, not a tagline.
A persona-matched page and script review
A check of existing department pages and call scripts against each persona, with rewrites where the tone does not match.
Result: Every department reads and sounds right for the person actually deciding.
How the result is measured
- Enquiry match to persona
- Conversion rate by persona
- Content aligned to persona
Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.
A persona card for this family
Here is a typical card for the family of a patient advised to have planned surgery.
An example, not a fact about your patients. Check each line against helpdesk and admission desk notes, and change what does not match.
- Who they are
- Typical: an adult with a planned procedure advised after an outpatient visit, whose family holds a health insurance policy. Check against your planned admissions by payer type.
- What starts the search
- Typical: the consultant says surgery is needed, and the family searches for the cashless list and the likely bill. Ask the helpdesk to note where the first call came from.
- What worries them
- Typical: a bill that grows past the estimate, insurance approval refused at the desk and the preferred surgeon unavailable. Read your complaints for these worries.
- What they compare you with
- Typical: a larger hospital across the city, a government hospital and the one the doctor suggested. Ask which names the family wrote down.
- Who else decides
- Typical: the adult child who handles the insurance, the spouse who stays through the admission and a family doctor whose advice counts. Record each person who calls the desk.
- What makes them say yes
- Typical: a counsellor who explains the stay and the approval steps in plain words, and a named person to ring. Ask admitted families what settled the choice.
Who it is for
This is written for these hospitals.
- Multi-speciality hospitals
- Single-speciality hospitals, maternity, orthopaedic or eye
- Nursing homes
- Day-care surgery centres
- Corporate hospital chains with several branches
- Diagnostic-centre-led hospitals
- Hospitals attached to medical colleges
- Government-empanelled private hospitals
Not for
It is not the right fit if.
- You plan to describe patients from their case files, which is not a use of that information the hospital should make.
- No one at the hospital talks to families or referring doctors, so a persona would be written from imagination.
- The hospital runs one department only, and the people who decide are already known to every member of the staff.
How it works
How the buyer persona work runs
The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.
- 1
Understand the current view
We start with how your team currently describes the customer, since the gap between belief and reality is the finding itself.
- 2
Audit past enquiries and sales
We look at recent enquiries and closed deals to see who actually bought, not who was assumed to buy.
- 3
Interview customers and staff
Structured conversations with recent buyers, held as talk about the last purchase and not a questionnaire. We ask what happened before they called, who else was involved and what they compared. Customers agree before we contact them, and their answers are reported without names.
- 4
Build the personas
Findings are written into short, usable persona documents rather than a long report.
- 5
Apply to your marketing
We show where each persona should change a page, an ad or a script you already have. The sales team reads the drafts and says which ring true. A persona they do not recognise is rewritten.

Chord Road Hospital
- Situation
- Patients who knew the hospital trusted it. Patients who searched for a department or a treatment in the area did not find it.
- What we did
- Website rebuilt around patient needs
- Search visibility
- Social media on a schedule
- Review management
- Result
- Organic traffic increased 60% within six months
- Online appointment bookings increased 40%
- Social following grew 45%, and engagement on it rose 70%
Nanda Arthritis and Rheumatology Center
- Situation
- There was no website, so a patient looking for a rheumatologist had no way to learn about the centre. Enquiries were few, and the ones that arrived came by word of mouth.
- What we did
- A website for patients
- Search work
- Google Business and reviews
- Lead capture and advertising
- Result
- No numbers were recorded for this engagement. The work is described in full in the case study.

Where this fits
Three pieces of sales work, in this order.
This work sits inside sales process design, at stage 0, foundation. The audit comes before it, and sales management keeps it running.
Step 1
Sales audit
Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.
Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.
Step 2 · you are here
Sales process design
One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.
Start here if every salesperson sells differently.
Step 3
Sales management
A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.
Start here if the team has targets and no routine.
