Obstetrics and gynaecology clinics · Referral marketing
Physicians refer to the doctor who sends the patient back with a note.
Referral is the main channel in obstetrics and gynaecology and also the most regulated, because fee-sharing and cuts between doctors are restricted and the rules differ and change. GullySales builds the professional relationship, the note back to the referring doctor, and outreach that involves no payment at all.
Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What referral marketing means
Referral marketing in a regulated practice is being the one a physician, a colleague or a former patient names, without being paid to, because paying for a referral is restricted in most of these professions. GullySales builds the ask into the moment a patient is satisfied and into the note that goes back to the referring doctor, and it never involves a fee.

Sales and marketing for obstetrics and gynaecology clinics, the overview.
Last updated 5 Oct 2026. Rules for this trade differ by state and professional body, and they change. We describe restrictions in general terms, so check the current position with your own council or adviser before you publish anything.
For obstetrics and gynaecology clinics
Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.
“Paying for a referral is the part to take advice on first”
Cuts, commissions and fee-sharing between doctors are restricted, and it is your registration rather than a marketing budget that is at risk. Assume nothing and put any arrangement in front of your own medico-legal adviser before it exists.
“What a referring physician wants is not money”
He wants to know his patient was seen, managed properly and sent back to him with a note he can read. Most clinics never send it, which is why the referrals thin out.
“Referrals arrive sideways from people who are not doctors”
The physiotherapist, the nutritionist, the antenatal yoga class, the paediatrician who will see the baby afterwards. That last one is two-way and worth building deliberately.
What we do
What we deliver for obstetrics and gynaecology clinics.
Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.
A referrer list showing what each one sends
Physicians, scan centres and clinics recorded against the patients they have sent, so a relationship that has gone quiet becomes visible.
Result: You know which referrer is worth a visit this week.
The note back, written as a standard
A short consented letter confirming attendance, the management plan and the patient's return to his care, sent after the consultation.
Result: The referring doctor hears back and sends the next patient.
A clinical profile a physician can keep on file
A page on the doctor's specific experience written for another clinician rather than for a patient, in a form he can file and refer back to.
Result: A physician has something concrete to base a referral on.
Outreach with no payment attached to it
Visits, case discussions and a shared protocol for high-risk cases, planned as the whole of the relationship because nothing else is safe.
Result: The network grows without an arrangement you would not want examined.
Patient referrals handled gently
How a sister or a colleague is welcomed when a patient sends her, with no scheme, code or reward attached to the introduction.
Result: Word of mouth gets recorded instead of passing unnoticed.
A written position on inducements
One page on what the clinic will not offer a referrer, checked with your own adviser and handed to whoever does the outreach.
Result: Nobody puts a registration at risk on your behalf.
How the result is measured
- Referrals received
- Referral conversion rate
- Cost per referred customer
Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.
How referrals reach an OBG clinic
Referrals here move between doctors and from woman to woman, and none of it should be paid for.
- The family physician or general practitioner nearby
- Send a short note, with the patient's consent, saying she has been seen and what the next step is. A physician refers again when he learns what happened, and he stops when he hears nothing.
- The paediatrician, anaesthetist and radiologist you work with
- Clinical co-operation is the relationship. Keep a shared list of who attends which deliveries and scans, and agree how a handover is communicated, without any payment between you.
- The antenatal class teacher and the lactation consultant
- They meet couples who are still choosing a hospital. Give them a plain sheet with your visiting hours, how to book and who answers the phone, and no incentive to name you.
- A patient who brings her sister or friend
- Never ask a patient to post about her pregnancy or her care. If somebody arrives on her word, record the source in the register and thank her in person, with a word.
- What never to do
- Never give cash, gifts, free scans or a share of fees to any doctor, clinic, diagnostic centre or agent for sending patients, or a reward to a patient for bringing another. Rules differ by state and body, so check with your council.

How it works
From your first message to the first report.
No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.
First
Your brief
You tell us what you need in a few short steps: your business, what you want, where enquiries come from and how they are handled.
After the brief
A conversation and a written scope
We read it, then talk with whoever handles your enquiries. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come in writing, and nothing starts before you have read them.
Before work starts
Baseline recorded
The numbers this work is meant to move, such as enquiries, quotations, orders, visits or renewals, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.
After the baseline
The first fix goes live
The fix we agreed to start with is put in place and measured against the baseline, whether that is a reply, a follow-up, a page, a listing or the handover between marketing and sales.
As agreed
Report against the baseline
What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.
At renewal
Renew on the numbers
The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.
How the referral marketing work runs
- 1
Understand your margin and customer relationship
We agree what reward is genuinely sustainable and appropriate for your business and customer type.
- 2
Audit existing informal referrals
We check how much word of mouth already happens, to size expectations for the formal programme realistically.
- 3
Design the offer and mechanism
A specific reward and an easy sharing method are built and tested.
- 4
Implement and promote
The programme is surfaced at the right moments in your customer journey.
- 5
Measure and adjust
We track referrals and conversions, adjusting the reward or promotion if uptake is low.
Proof
What happened when owners fixed this.
Real clients, the work we did, and the result as it was recorded. Where no number was recorded, none is claimed.
IVF Solutions
- Situation
- The clinic had next to no presence online. People making one of the most considered decisions of their lives were doing their research somewhere else, and forming a view before the clinic knew they existed.
- What we did
- Social profiles opened
- Educational content on a schedule
- Google Business Profile built out
- A working feedback loop
- Result
- No numbers were recorded for this engagement. The work is described in full in the case study.

Why us
Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.
Marketing and sales, as one job
Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.
The person on the first call does the work
No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.
A baseline before anything starts
Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.
The fee in writing, split three ways
Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.
No guarantees we cannot keep
The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.
One office, and we say so
Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.
#257, 3rd floor, Sri Nanjundeshwara Complex, Nagarbhavi 8th Block, Outer Ring Road. How we work.
Your brief
Tell us what you need, and we will read it before we call.

Everyone here pays for referrals. Why should we not?
Can we advertise to other doctors?
Can we offer a free package to anyone who refers a friend?
Should the referring doctor hear what happened after delivery?
How much does it cost?
How long is the contract?
How soon will we see results?
Who will actually do the work?
What do you need from us?
What if we are not happy with the work?
