Vacation rental properties · Search engine optimisation

Be the villa a searcher finds before they open the booking app.

SEO for a vacation rental is the work of making the home's own site show up when a guest searches for a stay near a city, a lake or a hill. GullySales works on the pages, the wording and the technical set-up behind that search.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What search engine optimisation means

Search engine optimisation (SEO) is the work of getting your website to appear when a buyer searches Google for what you sell. GullySales builds pages around real search terms, fixes technical issues that block ranking, and tracks which searches actually bring enquiries.

For vacation rental properties

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “Searchers name the place and the group, not the property type”

The search is 'villa with pool near Pune for a birthday' or 'farmhouse with caretaker near Bengaluru', not 'vacation rental'. A page that uses the words a lead booker types has a chance. A page that says 'luxury getaway' has none.

  • “Aggregator pages crowd out a single home”

Booking apps and travel directories hold the top of the results for broad searches. A single home wins on specific ones: its village, its road, its pool, its rule about pets. The site has to be built around those specifics.

  • “Seasonal demand moves the searches”

Searches for hill cottages change when the monsoon starts and when a long weekend appears on the calendar. A page that exists before the season, and is updated with the season's facts, is read first when the search arrives.

  • “Thin pages repeat what the app already says”

A site that copies the app description gives the search engine no reason to rank it. The useful additions are things an app cannot hold: the drive from the metro, the last stretch of road, what the caretaker cooks, what the neighbours allow.

What we do

What we deliver for vacation rental properties.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A search map of the stays you can win

A list of the place names, group types and dates guests search with, matched to the pages you have and the pages you lack.

Result: You know which searches your site answers.

  2. A page for each search that matters

Separate pages for the home, the nearest town, the group type and the season, each with its own title and a first paragraph that answers the search.

Result: Each page has one job a searcher can see.

  3. Photographs named and described

File names, captions and alt text that say what the picture shows, such as the pool at dusk or the road to the gate.

Result: Images can be found and read aloud by a screen reader.

  4. Technical checks on the site

Phone speed, page titles, headings, a sitemap and an index check, with the faults found written down and fixed.

Result: The site is readable by the search engine and the phone.

  5. Rate and policy pages that stay current

A page for seasonal rates, house rules and the booking route that is updated when they change.

Result: The search result shows the right rate and rule.

  6. A search-visit report you can read

Visits from search, the pages they landed on and the enquiries that followed, in plain language.

Result: You see whether search is sending guests.

How the result is measured

  • Ranking positions
  • Organic traffic
  • Enquiries from organic search

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

How it works

How the search engine optimisation work runs

The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.

  1. 1

    Audit and baseline

We record where the site stands today: positions, traffic, technical faults and the enquiries search currently produces. Nothing starts until this number is written down.

  2. 2

    Decide what to rank for

We map the searches your buyers use, in your words and theirs, and pick the ones worth the effort for your margin and your capacity.

  3. 3

    Fix the foundations

Technical faults first, because the cheapest gains are usually there. Then the Business Profile and directory consistency.

  4. 4

    Build the pages

A page for each thing you do, written to answer the question it is searched for, with a clear next step at the end.

  5. 5

    Publish and earn mentions

Content goes out on the calendar. Links and mentions are earned from real relationships, not bought.

  6. 6

    Measure, report, adjust

At the interval agreed at the start we report what moved and what did not, and change the plan when the numbers say so.

Where this fits

Three pieces of sales work, in this order.

This work sits inside sales process design, at stage 1, prospecting and lead generation. The audit comes before it, and sales management keeps it running.

  1. Step 1

    Sales audit

Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.

Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.

  2. Step 2 · you are here

    Sales process design

One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.

Start here if every salesperson sells differently.

  3. Step 3

    Sales management

A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

Start here if the team has targets and no routine.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Can a single villa rank above the big booking apps?
For broad searches, no. For a search that names your village, road, pool or rule, a good page can. We build for the specific ones and do not promise a position.
Do we need a blog for SEO?
Not as an end in itself. A page that answers what a guest asks, such as how to reach the home or what is allowed on arrival, does more than a post written to fill space.
How is this different from local SEO?
SEO covers the whole website and the words guests type. Local SEO covers the map listing and nearby searches. A vacation rental needs both, and GullySales keeps their details the same.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
