Restaurants · Search engine optimisation

Be found for the dish people search at seven in the evening.

SEO for a restaurant decides whether you appear when somebody nearby searches for biryani or a birthday dinner venue an hour before they eat. GullySales writes a page for the dishes and occasions you want the covers for, and fixes a site that loads too slowly on a phone.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What search engine optimisation means

Search engine optimisation (SEO) is the work of getting your website to appear when a buyer searches Google for what you sell. GullySales builds pages around real search terms, fixes technical issues that block ranking, and tracks which searches actually bring enquiries.

For restaurants

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “The search is a dish, not a restaurant”

Nobody types multi-cuisine family restaurant. They type Andhra meals near me, and one page about that meal answers it.

  • “The decision is made an hour before eating”

Your page has to open on a phone in a car park and show today's price for two, not a PDF menu from 2021.

  • “Occasions are searches too”

Birthday party place for twenty and kitty party venue each bring one organiser and fifteen covers. Almost no restaurant has a page for either.

What we do

What we deliver for restaurants.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A page for each dish you want to be known for

One page for the biryani, one for the thali, one for the weekend buffet, each carrying today's price, the photographs and how far ahead to come.

Result: A search for that dish can land on you.

  2. An occasion page for groups and parties

A page for birthday dinners, kitty parties and office team lunches, showing the set menus per head, the private area and how many it seats.

Result: The organiser searching for twenty seats finds you.

  3. Today's menu and prices as text, not a PDF

The current menu written into the page with prices, so search engines can read it and a customer does not have to download a file in a car park.

Result: The price for two stops being a mystery.

  4. A site that opens on a phone in a few seconds

Heavy images, dead plugins and broken links cleared out of a site built when you opened, because the whole decision happens on a phone.

Result: Nobody gives up waiting and opens Zomato instead.

  5. The FSSAI number and the details a guest checks

Licence number, hours, parking, whether a cake may be brought in and whether there is a lift, put where somebody looks for them.

Result: The questions that cost a booking are answered on the page.

  6. Reporting by dish page and occasion page

Which pages brought calls, bookings and direction requests, set against the baseline recorded before work started.

Result: You know which dish is worth its page.

How the result is measured

  • Ranking positions
  • Organic traffic
  • Enquiries from organic search

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

Searches your buyers type

What a hungry guest types before choosing where to eat, and the page that answers it.

best biryani near me
A page for your signature dish. Show the dish with a photograph, the style it is cooked in, the portion sizes and whether it is available for dine-in, takeaway and delivery.
restaurant for a birthday party for a large group
An occasion page. State the seating, the private area if you have one, how to reserve, what advance you take, and what the group can and cannot bring, such as a cake.
pure veg restaurant near me open now
A page and a Maps listing that agree. Say whether the kitchen is wholly vegetarian, the opening hours including the break between lunch and dinner, and parking.
Sunday lunch buffet in Indiranagar
A page for the buffet. Show the dishes that rotate, the price and the timing as text, and the days it runs, so the page can be checked before the family leaves home.
restaurant with a private dining room
A page for business and family hosts. Show photographs of the room, how many it seats, the set menus you offer, and the number to call for a booking.
jain food in Bengaluru
A dietary page. Say which dishes you can make without onion and garlic, how the kitchen keeps them separate, and what to tell the waiter, so a guest with this need can trust you.

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • You want a guaranteed Google ranking or a guaranteed number of leads. Nobody honest can promise either.
  • You need enquiries by next week and have nobody to answer them.
  • You want posts and reach reported, not enquiries and orders.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Your brief

You tell us what you need in a few short steps: your business, what you want, where enquiries come from and how they are handled.

  2. After the brief

A conversation and a written scope

We read it, then talk with whoever handles your enquiries. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come in writing, and nothing starts before you have read them.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

Enquiries by source, reply time, conversion and cost per order, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

The fix we agreed to start with is put in place and measured against the baseline, whether that is reply time, a follow-up sequence, the page buyers land on or the handover between marketing and sales.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

How the search engine optimisation work runs

  1. 1

    Audit and baseline

We record where the site stands today: positions, traffic, technical faults and the enquiries search currently produces. Nothing starts until this number is written down.

  2. 2

    Decide what to rank for

We map the searches your buyers use, in your words and theirs, and pick the ones worth the effort for your margin and your capacity.

  3. 3

    Fix the foundations

Technical faults first, because the cheapest gains are usually there. Then the Business Profile and directory consistency.

  4. 4

    Build the pages

A page for each thing you do, written to answer the question it is searched for, with a clear next step at the end.

  5. 5

    Publish and earn mentions

Content goes out on the calendar. Links and mentions are earned from real relationships, not bought.

  6. 6

    Measure, report, adjust

At the interval agreed at the start we report what moved and what did not, and change the plan when the numbers say so.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.

#257, 3rd floor, Sri Nanjundeshwara Complex, Nagarbhavi 8th Block, Outer Ring Road. How we work.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

We are on Zomato. Why do we need our own site?
Zomato ranks you against everybody who pays it. Your own pages carry the party menus, the exact prices and the FSSAI details, and a booking that comes through them costs no commission.
How long before this shows results?
A few months for the dish pages. The Business Profile moves sooner, which is why we start there while the pages build.
Should every dish on the menu have its own page?
No. Pick the few dishes you want to be known for and give each a real page with a photograph and a description. The rest of the menu works better as one page of text that a guest can read on a phone.
We have several outlets. Can one page serve them all?
Give each outlet its own page with its address, hours, phone number and photographs. One shared page confuses a guest looking for the nearest one. Keep the Maps listing for each outlet consistent with its page.
Should we leave Swiggy and Zomato?
Rarely. The apps bring new customers you would not reach otherwise. The aim is to rely on them less by moving repeat customers to direct orders and filling tables in the restaurant.
Are paid food blogger visits worth it?
They can put a new restaurant on people's lists, but a bump in followers is not the same as covers. We choose creators whose audience lives nearby, ask for honest content with clear disclosure, and check the following weeks' footfall.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
