Locksmiths · Customer retention

The lockout customer is not coming back, and the building might.

Retention barely exists for emergency locksmith work. Somebody locked out at midnight hopes never to call you again, and money spent trying to keep them is wasted. What does repeat is the building: the society, the office, the builder and the customer whose door you have just opened and who now wants a better lock. GullySales concentrates on those.

A 90-minute audit call and a written, scored report. Turnaround, reporting and term are agreed in writing after the audit.

What customer retention means

Customer retention is keeping an existing customer buying again rather than losing them to a competitor after the first purchase, usually cheaper than winning a new customer. GullySales sets a routine of check-ins and renewal reminders aimed at customers before they show signs of leaving.

For locksmiths

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “Say it plainly, the lockout customer is a one-off”

No loyalty card, no membership, no newsletter is going to bring back a man who was standing outside his own flat at 2am. Spend that money on being findable at 2am for the next one.

  • “The relationship is with the building, not the resident”

A society has a main gate, a clubhouse, a hundred flat doors and a committee that changes every year. One maintenance arrangement covering the common locks is worth more than a hundred individual jobs, and it renews.

  • “The week after an incident is the only real upgrade window”

Somebody who has just been burgled, or who has watched you open their door in ninety seconds, is the one person in the city thinking about locks. That is when a digital lock, a second lock or a grille gets bought. Two weeks later the thought has gone.

What we do

What we deliver for locksmiths.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A register of every building you have worked in

Societies, offices, showrooms and sites, with the contact who called you, the doors you touched and what was fitted, built out of past job records.

Result: You can see which buildings already know your name.

  2. A maintenance arrangement written for societies

Common area locks, main gate hardware, the clubhouse and the letterboxes covered under one agreement, with a scope and a rate the committee can approve.

Result: You have work in the building between emergencies.

  3. The upgrade conversation scripted for the same week

What to say, and when, to a customer whose door you just opened or whose flat was broken into, covering the options and what each costs.

Result: The incident turns into a fitted lock rather than a story.

  4. Builder and facility manager accounts approached properly

A way in to the people who fit out whole floors and handovers, with a rate structure for volume rather than a per-job quotation.

Result: One relationship covers dozens of doors.

  5. An honest decision to skip a loyalty scheme

A short reckoning of what a card or discount scheme would cost against what emergency customers actually do, and where that budget belongs instead.

Result: You stop paying for retention that this trade cannot have.

  6. Repeat work measured by building, not by customer

Second and third jobs counted against the addresses and accounts they came from, compared with the figures recorded before this started.

Result: You know which buildings pay you more than once.

How the result is measured

  • Retention rate
  • Repeat purchase rate
  • Customers won back

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

Who it is for

This is written for these locksmiths.

  • Emergency and 24-hour locksmiths
  • Automotive locksmiths and key programming specialists
  • Residential lock and security installers
  • Commercial and office locksmith services
  • Safe installation and repair specialists
  • Smart lock and digital security installers
  • Society and RWA-contracted locksmiths

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • You want a guaranteed Google ranking or a guaranteed number of leads. Nobody honest can promise either.
  • You need enquiries by next week and have nobody to answer them.
  • You want posts and reach reported, not enquiries and orders.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. 01 · First

    Free audit call

90 minutes with whoever handles your enquiries: how they arrive, how fast they are answered, where they are lost.

  2. 02 · After the call

    Written, scored report

Six areas scored, fixes ranked by return and cost. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come with it, in writing.

  3. 03 · Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

Enquiries by source, reply time, conversion and cost per order, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. 04 · After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

Usually the cheapest one on the report: reply time, a follow-up sequence or the marketing-to-sales handover.

  5. 05 · As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. 06 · At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

How the work runs for locksmiths

  1. 1

Audit the call and response process

We check how fast a call or WhatsApp message is answered at different times of day, and whether the listing shows a real response time.

  2. 2

    Fix the local listing

The Business Profile completed with service area, verification details and real job photographs, so the locksmith appears for near me searches.

  3. 3

    Build a 24-hour answer routine

A call and WhatsApp routine that works outside office hours, so an 11pm emergency is answered as reliably as a daytime call.

  4. 4

    Build job-specific pages

A page for car key programming, digital lock installation and other planned jobs, separate from the emergency lockout page.

  5. 5

Offer the upgrade after the emergency

A short follow-up after an emergency call, offering a digital lock or security upgrade while the customer is still thinking about their locks.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.

#257, 3rd floor, Sri Nanjundeshwara Complex, Nagarbhavi 8th Block, Outer Ring Road. How we work.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Is it worth sending festival greetings to past customers?
To societies, offices and builders, yes, because there is a named person who decides. To emergency customers it is money and goodwill spent on people who have already forgotten you. Keep two lists and treat them differently.
How do we get a maintenance contract out of a society?
Do one job well, then go to the secretary with a written scope for the common areas and a rate. Committees change, so get the arrangement on paper and into the society's records rather than living in one man's phone. Ask for a note in the notice board or the group as part of it.
How do you handle trust and verification for a locksmith?
We show your police verification, your technicians' photographs and ID, and real job photos on the listing. A customer about to let a stranger open their door checks those first.
Can this work for a one-person locksmith business?
Yes. Most of the work is the listing, the answer routine and the job pages, which a single technician can keep up. The after-hours routine matters even more when one phone takes every call.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped in the free audit and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How soon will we see results?
Fixes to reply time, follow-up and your Google Business Profile are the quickest to show, because the enquiries already exist. Ads can follow soon after follow-up is in place. SEO and content take longer. How long each takes depends on your business, and the audit tells you which applies to you. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you meet on the audit call. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
For the audit, last month's enquiries in any format and 90 minutes with whoever handles them. After that, access to the accounts the work touches, such as the website, Google Business Profile or CRM, and time for the review meetings.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
