B2B wholesale marketplaces · Buyer persona

Describe the shop owner, the purchase manager and the seller as three different buyers.

A buyer persona for a B2B wholesale marketplace describes who is deciding on each side of the platform and what they weigh. GullySales builds a persona for the seller, the small retailer and the procurement buyer from your own registrations, calls and order records.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What buyer persona means

A buyer persona is a plain description of the kind of customer who actually buys from you. It includes what they search, what worries them and who else they ask before deciding. GullySales builds this from real enquiries and past sales rather than a generic template, then uses it to write every page and advert.

For B2B wholesale marketplaces

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “The kirana owner buys on habit, credit and trust”

A small shop owner restocks from the same salesman for years. They switch only when the platform has the item, a fair rate against the local wholesaler and a way to pay that fits their cash flow. Range comes before design.

  • “The factory purchase manager buys on specification and paper”

A purchase manager needs the right grade, a quotation, a purchase order process and an invoice that clears the accounts desk. A consumer-style checkout does not suit them. A named contact for quotes can decide the vendor.

  • “The wholesaler as seller weighs risk, not features”

The owner of a wholesale business thinks about existing dealers, price conflict, settlement and the quality of orders. The person who decides may be a family head who is not on the app, so the pitch has to travel by phone and paper.

  • “The brand sales head wants proof of reach”

A manufacturer's regional sales head asks which towns and shop types the platform reaches. The persona is a person under pressure to cover territory, and the answer has to come from your own order data.

What we do

What we deliver for B2B wholesale marketplaces.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A seller persona

The wholesaler or manufacturer who decides to list, with the worries, the family or partner involved and the proof they ask for.

Result: Your team can write a pitch that answers the real worry.

  2. A small retailer persona

The kirana, hardware or boutique owner, with how they restock today, what they compare you with and what makes them order again.

Result: Messages and offers match how the shop owner actually buys.

  3. A procurement buyer persona

The purchase manager at a factory or institution, with the documents, approvals and quotation steps they follow.

Result: Outreach to purchase desks uses their process and their words.

  4. A brand and manufacturer persona

The regional sales head and what they need to see before agreeing to a distributor tie-up.

Result: The partnership note answers the questions a brand asks.

  5. A persona check against your records

Each persona compared with registrations, call notes and orders, with lines that do not fit rewritten.

Result: Every persona line has a source in your own data.

How the result is measured

  • Enquiry match to persona
  • Conversion rate by persona
  • Content aligned to persona

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Your brief

You tell us what you need in a few short steps: your business, what you want, where enquiries come from and how they are handled.

  2. After the brief

A conversation and a written scope

We read it, then talk with whoever handles your enquiries. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come in writing, and nothing starts before you have read them.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

The numbers this work is meant to move, such as enquiries, quotations, orders, visits or renewals, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

The fix we agreed to start with is put in place and measured against the baseline, whether that is a reply, a follow-up, a page, a listing or the handover between marketing and sales.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

How the buyer persona work runs

  1. 1

    Understand the current view

We start with how your team currently describes the customer, since the gap between belief and reality is often the finding itself.

  2. 2

    Audit past enquiries and sales

We look at recent enquiries and closed deals to see who actually bought, not who was assumed to buy.

  3. 3

    Interview customers and staff

Short, structured conversations surface the real language, worries and triggers behind a purchase.

  4. 4

    Build the personas

Findings are written into short, usable persona documents rather than a long report.

  5. 5

    Apply to your marketing

We show exactly where each persona should change a page, an ad or a script you already have.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.

#257, 3rd floor, Sri Nanjundeshwara Complex, Nagarbhavi 8th Block, Outer Ring Road. How we work.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

How many personas do we need?
One for each decision-maker you pitch to, starting with a seller, a small buyer and a procurement buyer to start. We build each from your own registrations and calls, and add more only where the data shows a distinct group.
Can we use a persona before we have orders?
Yes, as a draft to test. Write it from sales calls and field visits, then correct it against the first orders. Treat the early version as a set of questions to check, not a fact about your buyers.
Who is the real decision-maker in a wholesale business?
A family or partner group, not only the person who answers the phone. Ask on the first call who else decides and note it in the record. We build that into the persona so the pitch reaches the right person.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
