Manufacturing · Medical Devices & Equipment

A device brand looks for a moulder it can audit, and our shop floor is not on any page.

A medical plastics moulder rarely sells to hospitals. The customer is another maker: a syringe brand, a diagnostics company, an equipment maker who needs a housing or a connector. They look for a supplier by process, resin and cleanliness of the shop.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

Plastics technicians inspect moulded parts and containers

In one paragraph

Medical plastics manufacturing is the moulding or extrusion of plastic parts, housings, tubing and components that go into medical devices and disposables, usually to a device brand's drawing. GullySales builds the capability pages, request-for-quotation handling and follow-up that put a moulder in front of the device makers who source such parts.

Such buyers send a drawing, ask for a quotation, and then arrive to inspect. The moulder with a clear capability page and a quick technical reply is called to that visit. The rest are not.

Last updated 16 Oct 2026. Licence, certification, labelling and advertising rules for medical devices & equipment differ by product and change. We describe them in general terms, so check the current position with your own adviser or the regulator before you publish a claim.

Who it is for

This is written for you if medical plastics is what you make or sell.

  • Injection moulders making housings, caps, connectors and components for device brands
  • Extruders making tubing and profiles for medical products
  • Moulders working in a separated or controlled area who want to be found by device brands
  • General plastic moulders adding medical work to their customer mix

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • Moulders without any separated production area who want to claim a medical-grade status. We cannot state what the shop does not have.
  • Units that cannot accept an audit visit from a customer

How buyers choose

What decides the sale of medical plastics.

  1. Drawing, resin and tool

The device brand sends a drawing, names the resin or asks you to propose one, and either brings a tool or asks you to make it. Your reply decides whether you are asked to a first meeting.

  2. A supplier audit

Buyers inspect the production area, the records and the way you handle material. They look at lot traceability, cleanliness and what happens to rejected parts.

  3. First-article approval

The first parts are measured and approved before a purchase order for volume. The speed and tidiness of that first batch decides the relationship.

Where orders are lost

What usually goes wrong when you sell medical plastics.

In the words owners use on the first call.

  • “Device makers do not know we do this work”

Your website talks about plastic moulding in general. A buyer searching for a medical component moulder sees only makers who say so.

  • “We quote and they pick another moulder”

The quotation went as a figure without notes on resin, cavities, cycle and tooling. The buyer could not tell what the price covered.

  • “One customer is most of our turnover”

A single device brand could change supplier or bring the work in house, and you have no other pipeline.

What we do

What you get for medical plastics.

Each deliverable and what it is there to change.

  1. A capability sheet by process, resin and part size

What you can mould, in what range, so a buyer can screen you out or in within minutes.

  2. A quotation template that states its assumptions

Resin, cavities, cycle, packing and tool ownership written beside the price.

  3. A plant visit pack

A short list of what an auditor sees and the records they ask for, ready before they ask.

  4. A first-article report layout

A standard way to present measured parts and approval status to the buyer.

How the result is measured

  • Drawings received per enquiry
  • Quotations sent and followed up
  • Plant visits and audits arranged
  • First-article approvals
  • Trial orders and repeat orders
  • Customers by share of turnover

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Your brief

You tell us what you need in a few short steps: your business, what you want, where enquiries come from and how they are handled.

  2. After the brief

A conversation and a written scope

We read it, then talk with whoever handles your enquiries. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come in writing, and nothing starts before you have read them.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

The numbers this work is meant to move, such as enquiries, quotations, orders, visits or renewals, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

The fix we agreed to start with is put in place and measured against the baseline, whether that is a reply, a follow-up, a page, a listing or the handover between marketing and sales.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

What we need from you

What to have ready before we talk.

None of it has to be tidy. We read what you have.

  • Machine list with tonnage and any controlled area
  • Resins you currently process
  • Past quotations, won and lost
  • Photographs of the production area and sample parts
  • Customer names you have permission to mention

Export and new regions

Selling medical plastics beyond your home market.

Where you sell decides standards, documents, payment terms and freight. We work from Bengaluru and have no overseas office, so for a new region we start from your own enquiries, your existing buyers and the directories you already use.

  1. Overseas device brands that source from India

Some overseas brands seek moulders for components. Begin with buyers who have written to you and listings where you already appear.

  2. Samples and tooling cost

Overseas buyers ask who owns the tool and who pays for it, plus sample shipping. Decide your position before you reply.

FAQ

Questions about selling medical plastics.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Can I say my moulding is medical grade?
Only if your quality head and the buyer's standards support the phrase. We would describe what the shop actually does and leave grade claims to the people who certify it.
How do I get device brands to find me?
Be specific about the parts you mould and the process, and go to them as well. A researched list of buyers is faster than waiting for a search.
Should I ask for the tool to be owned by the customer?
That is a commercial decision, but state your policy on the quotation. Buyers compare, and silence on tool ownership looks like a hidden cost.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on what is being changed and how many of the people who matter see it. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever the work touches, such as your profiles, your website or your accounts, and time with the people who can answer our questions.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.

Engagement options

Ways to work with us.

Pick the size of commitment that fits. Every option starts with your brief and a conversation.

  4. Option 4

Guidance for your own team or agency

We plan, brief and check the work of your in-house team or current agency, instead of replacing them.
