Furniture manufacturers · Sales training

Train the showroom team to explain material trade-offs without sounding evasive.

Sales training for a furniture manufacturer teaches showroom staff and dealer-facing reps how to explain material and price differences honestly. It also covers running a tender conversation with the right documents ready, using your actual product range rather than a generic course. GullySales trains your team and reviews real conversations afterwards.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What sales training means

Sales training teaches a sales team a skill it does not yet have, such as handling a specific objection or running a proper site visit, usually through a structured session. GullySales runs these sessions around real objections and calls from your business rather than generic sales theory.

For furniture manufacturers

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “Explaining material trade-offs plainly”

A customer asking why one dining set costs more than another wants a clear explanation of wood type and joinery. A vague answer about quality does not satisfy them.

  • “Dealer conversations need different training from showroom sales”

Negotiating margin and credit terms with a dealer is a different skill from closing a walk-in showroom sale, and training addresses them as separate conversations.

  • “Corporate tender presentations rehearsed in advance”

A team presenting to a tender evaluation committee should rehearse with the actual sample pieces and references. The first real run should not be in front of the buyer.

What we do

What we deliver for furniture manufacturers.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A material trade-off script for showroom staff

Clear, honest wording explaining wood type and joinery differences, ready for staff to use when a buyer questions price.

Result: A price question gets a confident answer instead of a vague one about quality.

  2. A separate module on dealer negotiation

Training that treats margin and credit-term negotiation as its own skill, distinct from closing a walk-in showroom sale.

Result: Dealer-facing staff negotiate with the right skill for that conversation.

  3. A rehearsed tender presentation with real samples

A practice session using your actual sample pieces and references before the team presents to a real tender committee.

Result: The team walks into a real tender presentation already rehearsed.

  4. A WhatsApp response guide for photo enquiries

Ready wording for responding to a buyer who sends a photo of a desired style over WhatsApp.

Result: A WhatsApp enquiry gets the same considered reply as a phone call.

How the result is measured

  • Skill assessment scores
  • Objection handling improvement
  • Conversion rate after training

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

Situations to practise

Six conversations a furniture maker's team should practise, and what good looks like.

A dealer asks about margin and credit
State the dealer price list, payment terms and display support, and ask the expected volume. Practise holding the terms in writing before agreeing anything.
A showroom customer asks whether it is solid wood
Say what it is made of: solid wood, engineered wood, plywood, MDF, laminate or veneer, and where each suits. Practise one plain sentence for each range.
A buyer compares with a branded modular kitchen
Ask the layout and the hardware. Compare carcass material, hinges and finish. Practise naming your own hardware honestly.
A corporate buyer or tender committee
Prepare the document set: samples, test certificates, warranty terms, GST details. Practise answering both the purchase and the facilities team.
A dealer reports damaged goods
Ask for photos, the delivery note and the packing condition. Log it and name who will respond. Practise not blaming the transporter in the first call.
A WhatsApp photo asks for the price of a sofa
Ask size, fabric, quantity and city. Reply with a range and what is needed to firm it. Practise this reply for the photos you receive most.

Who it is for

This is written for these furniture manufacturers.

  • Modular kitchen and wardrobe manufacturers
  • Office furniture and workstation manufacturers
  • Home furniture manufacturers, sofas, beds and dining sets
  • Outdoor and garden furniture manufacturers
  • Custom and made-to-order carpentry units

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • You want a guaranteed Google ranking or a guaranteed number of leads. Nobody honest can promise either.
  • You need enquiries by next week and have nobody to answer them.
  • You want posts and reach reported, not enquiries and orders.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Your brief

You tell us what you need in a few short steps: your business, what you want, where enquiries come from and how they are handled.

  2. After the brief

A conversation and a written scope

We read it, then talk with whoever handles your enquiries. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come in writing, and nothing starts before you have read them.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

Enquiries by source, reply time, conversion and cost per order, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

The fix we agreed to start with is put in place and measured against the baseline, whether that is reply time, a follow-up sequence, the page buyers land on or the handover between marketing and sales.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

How the sales training work runs

  1. 1

    Assess current skill levels

We review the team's current strengths and gaps, by observing calls and talking to managers.

  2. 2

    Build the curriculum

Content is developed around your product, customers and sales cycle.

  3. 3

    Schedule and deliver

Sessions run on a set calendar, with practice built into each one.

  4. 4

    Check understanding

Short knowledge checks confirm what has actually stuck.

  5. 5

    Review and refresh

The curriculum is revisited periodically and refresher sessions are run for the wider team.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.

#257, 3rd floor, Sri Nanjundeshwara Complex, Nagarbhavi 8th Block, Outer Ring Road. How we work.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

How long does training take?
A half-day session covering showroom, dealer and tender conversations, followed by a review a few weeks later against real enquiries.
Does this cover WhatsApp enquiries too?
Yes, since many buyers now send a photo of a desired style over WhatsApp first, and staff need a consistent way to respond there.
Should dealers join our training?
Invite dealers' counter staff to a product session and keep sales-conversation practice for your own reps. Dealers sell several brands, so what helps most is clear material and price talk they can repeat, with a one-page reference.
Do showroom staff and dealer reps need separate sessions?
Yes. A showroom salesperson talks to a household, and a dealer rep talks to a business buyer who cares about the price list, credit and display. Run two sessions with different practice cases, even if the product content is shared.
Do we need to market to dealers and to consumers differently?
Yes. A dealer decides on margin and whether your trucks arrive on time, so he needs a rep and a margin sheet. A consumer decides on material and finish, so she needs a catalogue page that answers those plainly.
How do we win a corporate furniture tender?
A prompt, complete proposal with a sample piece and a past project reference usually matters more than being the lowest quote. Buyers are wary of a cheap quote that cannot deliver on time.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
