Laboratory and scientific equipment suppliers · Digital marketing

Plan the year around the department's calendar, not the marketing calendar.

Digital marketing for a laboratory supplier is the decision about where the money goes: the catalogue pages, the daily portal watch, demonstrations, and the reminders that keep consumable accounts reordering. GullySales writes that plan against your two businesses and reports against the baseline recorded before anything started.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What digital marketing means

Digital marketing is the combined work of search, social media, advertising and website channels running together rather than as separate projects with separate people. GullySales runs these as one connected system so a change in one channel, such as a new offer, is reflected everywhere at once.

For laboratory and scientific equipment suppliers

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “Instruments and consumables cannot share one plan”

One sells once in seven years after a demonstration and an argument about calibration. The other sells to whoever reminds the lab before the shelf empties.

  • “June decides what happens in March”

Specifications are drafted when nothing is being bought, so the quiet months carry the demonstrations and the sample packs.

  • “A portal is a job with a login, not a strategy”

GeM and the state portals need somebody opening them every working day, which belongs in the plan with a name against it.

What we do

What we deliver for laboratory and scientific equipment suppliers.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A channel plan by buyer type

What reaches a college department, an accredited testing lab and a factory quality head, written separately, because none of the three is found the same way.

Result: Effort goes where your kind of order actually starts.

  2. A calendar set to the financial year

Demonstrations and department visits from June, budget reminders from January, and delivery and installation capacity held for the last weeks of March.

Result: You stop doing outreach in the month nobody can talk.

  3. A written budget split with what each part owes you

What goes to search, the portal watch, demonstrations and sample packs, and the reorder programme, with the enquiries or orders each is expected to return.

Result: You can turn down the next portal salesman for a reason.

  4. A daily portal routine with a named owner

Categories watched every working day on GeM and the state portals, with authorisations and turnover papers kept current before a bid closes rather than after.

Result: A bid closing while one person is travelling is still seen.

  5. A baseline and a report

Enquiries by source and product group, quotations and bids, demonstrations done, and consumable accounts reordering on time, compared with the figures taken at the start.

Result: You can see which part of the purchase you keep losing.

How the result is measured

  • Enquiries across channels
  • Cost per enquiry overall
  • Channel mix by contribution

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

Where to start for a supplier

Start where a purchase officer is already looking when the indent arrives.

Marketplace and portal catalogue
Check that your GeM and marketplace catalogues list each instrument category with make, model and specification. Record every bid you viewed against the ones you quoted and won.
Datasheet for each instrument
Put a page and a datasheet PDF for every instrument you sell, with specification, accessories, warranty terms and the models it replaces. Note which datasheets buyers ask for.
Quotation and tender log
Keep one sheet for every enquiry and tender: department, indent or tender number, closing date, what you quoted and the result. Review it before the next financial year starts.
Visit list of colleges and labs
List the colleges, hospital labs and factory quality departments within reach, with the purchase contact and the month their budget is released. Visit before the specification is written.
Consumables reorder list
For glassware, reagents and consumables, keep a WhatsApp list of regular buyers with what they reorder and when. Message before their stock runs low, not after.
What to leave until later
Hold back on social media, paid ads for instruments and demonstration videos of every item. Institutional buyers buy against a specification and a tender, so spend your first hours on those.

Who it is for

This is written for these laboratory and scientific equipment suppliers.

  • Laboratory instrument dealers and distributors
  • Authorised importers of foreign scientific instruments
  • Scientific glassware and plasticware suppliers
  • Chemical, reagent and culture media suppliers
  • Consumables and disposables suppliers on monthly reorder

  • Calibration, service and maintenance contractors
  • Turnkey lab set-up contractors for new colleges and hospitals

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • You want a guaranteed Google ranking or a guaranteed number of leads. Nobody honest can promise either.
  • You need enquiries by next week and have nobody to answer them.
  • You want posts and reach reported, not enquiries and orders.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Your brief

You tell us what you need in a few short steps: your business, what you want, where enquiries come from and how they are handled.

  2. After the brief

A conversation and a written scope

We read it, then talk with whoever handles your enquiries. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come in writing, and nothing starts before you have read them.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

Enquiries by source, reply time, conversion and cost per order, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

The fix we agreed to start with is put in place and measured against the baseline, whether that is reply time, a follow-up sequence, the page buyers land on or the handover between marketing and sales.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

How the digital marketing work runs

  1. 1

    Understand the objective

We agree the one thing this campaign needs to achieve before choosing any channel.

  2. 2

    Audit available channels

We assess which channels are realistic to run well within the budget and timeline.

  3. 3

    Strategise the central idea

One message and offer is developed that will work across every planned channel.

  4. 4

    Implement across channels

Each channel receives its own adapted version, launched on a shared timeline.

  5. 5

    Measure as one campaign

Results from every channel are combined into a single report against the original objective.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.

#257, 3rd floor, Sri Nanjundeshwara Complex, Nagarbhavi 8th Block, Outer Ring Road. How we work.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

We already pay for a marketplace subscription. Is more needed?
That subscription earns its keep on consumables. It never reaches the professor drafting next year's specification, and that is where an instrument order begins.
Who should own this inside a ten-person firm?
Name one person for the portals and one for the enquiry register. The drafting and the reporting can sit with us. Without a name on each, both quietly become nobody's work.
Is it better to hire a bid-and-tender person or use an agency?
Reading tenders and preparing the papers is daily work that needs someone who knows your catalogue, so it suits a person on your payroll. An agency can set up the catalogue and product pages. Keep the tender log in your own hands either way.
How do we know whether the marketplace or our own website won an order?
Write the source on the quotation log the day the enquiry arrives, and ask the buyer on the purchase order how they found you. Institutional orders often come after several touches, so look at the pattern over a full financial year, not one order.
A tender's specification matches a competitor's model exactly. Can anything be done?
Raise a pre-bid query inside the window, with the technical reason the clause should be made generic. That works sometimes. The real answer sits months earlier, when the professor or lab in-charge is drafting the specification, and that is when your instrument has to be on the table.
Do we have to be on GeM?
For government colleges, hospitals and departments, yes, and the OEM authorisation has to be in order before you bid rather than after. Private testing labs and most diagnostic chains still buy on three quotations. Both routes need watching, because they run on different calendars.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
