Film production houses · Search engine optimisation

Be the page a financier finds when they search your banner and your film.

SEO for a film production house is the work of making the banner, its films and its current projects appear when a financier, distributor or outside unit searches for them. GullySales works on the pages, titles and listings that those searches land on.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What search engine optimisation means

Search engine optimisation (SEO) is the work of getting your website to appear when a buyer searches Google for what you sell. GullySales builds pages around real search terms, fixes technical issues that block ranking, and tracks which searches actually bring enquiries.

For film production houses

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “People search the banner name before the first meeting”

A financier who hears your name searches it that evening. If the results show an old press item, a fan page and a ticketing listing, the first impression is built by strangers.

  • “Film titles collide with other things”

A title that is also a common word or a song competes with reviews, lyrics and other films. The banner page needs the full title, year, language and cast so that the search engine tells them apart.

  • “Service buyers search by place and need”

An outside unit looks for production support in a city or state with permissions handled. A page that names the locations you work in and the work you handle can be found by that search; a poster wall cannot.

What we do

What we deliver for film production houses.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. Banner search audit

A record of what appears when the banner, the founders and the last releases are searched, with what is wrong or missing.

Result: You see what a financier sees before the call.

  2. Film and project pages

One page per film or project with title, year, language, creative team and status, written in plain text beside the poster.

Result: Each title has a page that names it fully.

  3. Production services page

A page for outside units naming locations, crew departments and the permissions work you handle.

Result: A line producer searching for support can find you.

  4. Titles and descriptions

Page titles and descriptions rewritten so they read as a clear listing in search results.

Result: Search results for your pages say what the page is.

  5. Trade listings check

A check that the banner is described the same way on the trade databases and directories that rank for its name.

Result: Name, address and credits match across the places that show up.

How the result is measured

  • Ranking positions
  • Organic traffic
  • Enquiries from organic search

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

How it works

How the search engine optimisation work runs

The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.

  1. 1

    Audit and baseline

We record where the site stands today: positions, traffic, technical faults and the enquiries search currently produces. Nothing starts until this number is written down.

  2. 2

    Decide what to rank for

We map the searches your buyers use, in your words and theirs, and pick the ones worth the effort for your margin and your capacity.

  3. 3

    Fix the foundations

Technical faults first, because the cheapest gains are usually there. Then the Business Profile and directory consistency.

  4. 4

    Build the pages

A page for each thing you do, written to answer the question it is searched for, with a clear next step at the end.

  5. 5

    Publish and earn mentions

Content goes out on the calendar. Links and mentions are earned from real relationships, not bought.

  6. 6

    Measure, report, adjust

At the interval agreed at the start we report what moved and what did not, and change the plan when the numbers say so.

Where this fits

Three pieces of sales work, in this order.

This work sits inside sales process design, at stage 1, prospecting and lead generation. The audit comes before it, and sales management keeps it running.

  1. Step 1

    Sales audit

Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.

Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.

  2. Step 2 · you are here

    Sales process design

One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.

Start here if every salesperson sells differently.

  3. Step 3

    Sales management

A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

Start here if the team has targets and no routine.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Can SEO get us ahead of the big studios?
We do not promise rankings. We work so that a search for your banner and your films shows accurate pages that you control. Competing for broad terms is a separate and slower question.
Do we need text on pages that are mostly posters?
Yes. Search engines read text, and so does a financier. A short written line on each project, with credits and status, is what makes the page findable and useful.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
