News media companies · Content marketing

Sell sponsored content that reads like your outlet and is marked as paid.

Content marketing for a news media company has two sides: the content you publish to win loyal readers, and the sponsored content you produce for advertisers. GullySales works on the formats, the labelling and the briefs that keep the two apart.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What content marketing means

Content marketing is writing articles, guides and pages that answer the questions buyers search before they are ready to enquire. This makes your business visible and trusted before the first call. GullySales plans this content from the first conversation onward, choosing topics that match real search demand rather than guesses.

For news media companies

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “Sponsored content fails when it reads like a press note”

An advertiser hands over a brochure and expects it printed. Readers see the difference at once. A story built around a local question the advertiser can answer holds attention and serves the sponsor better.

  • “The label is part of the product”

A clear mark that content is sponsored protects the reader's trust and your name. Advertisers who understand that keep returning, and those who object are asking you to spend trust you cannot rebuy.

  • “Owned content builds the audience you sell”

A series on civic budgets, school admissions or local sport gives readers a reason to return. Advertisers then buy space beside content their customers already seek.

  • “A single story rarely suits print, portal and video”

A sponsor series planned for one format and later stretched across others looks thin. Plan the story for each format from the first brief.

What we do

What we deliver for news media companies.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A sponsored content menu

Formats on offer, such as a feature, a Q&A, a video explainer and a supplement page, described with what each needs from the advertiser.

Result: A one-page menu the ad team sends with the rate card.

  2. A brief template for advertisers

Questions that draw out a local angle: what the buyer asks, what the advertiser knows and what the reader should do next.

Result: Briefs arrive with a story angle rather than a brochure.

  3. A labelling standard

The wording and placement of the sponsored mark across print, portal and video.

Result: Every paid piece carries the same clear mark.

  4. Two or three owned series

Recurring formats chosen with your editor, such as a civic explainer or a results guide, that give readers a habit.

Result: A named series with a place in the publishing plan.

  5. A reuse plan across formats

How one sponsored story is adapted for the portal, the WhatsApp channel and the video channel.

Result: One brief becomes several pieces without repeat work.

  6. A sample set for sales

A few finished pieces, with the advertiser's permission, that the ad team can show.

Result: The ad team shows examples, not promises.

How the result is measured

  • Pages published
  • Organic traffic
  • Enquiries from content pages

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

How it works

How the content marketing work runs

The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.

  1. 1

    Confirm the plan

Topics and formats for the coming month are confirmed against the content strategy.

  2. 2

    Produce and review

Content is written or filmed, then reviewed by someone who knows your trade before it goes out.

  3. 3

    Publish and distribute

Finished content is published to the site and pushed through the channels your buyers actually use.

  4. 4

    Track enquiries

Enquiries are traced back to content where a direct line exists, and reported honestly where it does not.

  5. 5

    Report and adjust

We report results and adjust the next topics based on what actually worked.

Where this fits

Three pieces of sales work, in this order.

This work sits inside sales process design, at stage 0, foundation. The audit comes before it, and sales management keeps it running.

  1. Step 1

    Sales audit

Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.

Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.

  2. Step 2 · you are here

    Sales process design

One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.

Start here if every salesperson sells differently.

  3. Step 3

    Sales management

A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

Start here if the team has targets and no routine.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Who writes the sponsored content?
That is your call. Either your own writers do it on a clear separation from the newsroom, or GullySales prepares the brief and your team writes. Editorial independence stays with you.
Can an advertiser approve the story before it runs?
Agree this up front in writing. A sponsor may correct facts about its own business, while the angle and the label remain yours.
Does content marketing mean we publish more?
It means publishing with a purpose. A few standing series that readers return to are worth more than extra stories that disappear in the feed.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
