Borewell and drilling contractors · Lead generation

Write down every owner who asks, before the rig moves to the next site.

Lead generation for a borewell contractor is the work of bringing in enquiries for drilling, flushing and pump jobs, and recording where each came from. The sources are a call to the rig, a neighbour's referral and a search. GullySales sets each up so the enquiry is logged, answered and followed until it is a signed job or a clear no.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What lead generation means

Lead generation is the combined work of every channel that brings in a new enquiry, whether from search, adverts, referrals or a stall at an exhibition. GullySales runs these channels together and reports the number of enquiries each one produced, not the activity behind it.

For borewell and drilling contractors

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “Leads come when the owner is at the rig”

A caller with a dry tap wants an answer in minutes. The owner is on a site with the compressor running and rings back the next morning.

  • “Bought leads go to five contractors at once”

A portal sells the same enquiry to every contractor nearby. The customer has heard from four before you ring.

  • “No record of the season's callers”

Callers from last summer who did not book are in nobody's list, though some of them still have a failing bore.

What we do

What we deliver for borewell and drilling contractors.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. List of sources with a code

Call to the rig, referral from a pump dealer, search, a society proposal, a builder's request and an IndiaMART enquiry, each written separately.

Result: You know which source brings jobs and which brings only calls.

  2. WhatsApp number for enquiries

A business number on the profile and the rig, with a first reply that asks the place, the survey number and the problem.

Result: The caller sends details while the owner is on site.

  3. Reply routine for the foreman and the owner

Who answers a missed call, who calls back and what to say, written for two people and one phone.

Result: A call is not left to chance.

  4. Site visit booking

A fixed way to book a visit, with a day, the point of contact and a note on what the customer should have ready.

Result: The visit happens and the quote follows.

  5. Targeted local search and message campaigns

Search advertising and messages limited to the areas your rig covers, with spend agreed in writing.

Result: The enquiries come from places you can reach.

  6. Enquiry report by source

Enquiries, visits, quotes and jobs by source, with media spend recorded separately against the baseline.

Result: The owner sees where signed jobs come from.

How the result is measured

  • Enquiries generated
  • Cost per enquiry
  • Enquiries by source

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

Where enquiries come from

Where a borewell contractor's enquiries come from, what to write down for each and how to reply.

Call to the rig or the owner's mobile
Note the place, the plot or survey number and what the problem is before the call ends. If you cannot talk, send a WhatsApp reply that says when you will ring back, and ring then.
Referral from a pump dealer or plumber
Write the referrer's name against the lead and call the owner the same day. Tell the referrer once the job is signed, and keep the name for a thank-you.
Neighbour of a past customer
Ask the name of the neighbour who recommended you and the job done next door. Offer to look at the earlier bore's record. The owner trusts you more than a stranger, so confirm it quickly.
Search and Business Profile call
Count calls from the profile and the website separately. Ask every caller how they found you, and add the answer to the register, because a profile call may never be tagged otherwise.
Society or apartment secretary
Record the society, the secretary's name, the number of bores and the problem. Send a written proposal and ask when the committee meets, so you can call after it.
Builder, layout developer or architect
Note the project, the number of plots or blocks and who decides. Send a one-page capability sheet with your rig details and terms, and ask for the schedule so the crew can plan.

Who it is for

This is written for these borewell and drilling contractors.

  • Domestic borewell contractors
  • Agricultural borewell and drip-line contractors
  • Rotary and DTH rig operators
  • Housing society and apartment borewell contractors
  • Industrial and commercial borewell contractors
  • Borewell flushing, cleaning and repair contractors
  • Pump installation and motor repair firms
  • Rainwater harvesting and recharge pit contractors

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • Nobody notes the caller's village, plot and need when the owner is at the rig, so a new channel would add unrecorded calls.
  • You plan to buy leads that go to five contractors at once and cannot give a better quote than the others.
  • You have no way to tell the season's callers apart from last season's, so figures would be counted twice.

How it works

How the lead generation work runs

The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.

  1. 1

    Understand your capacity

We ask how many enquiries your team can answer well, who answers after hours, and what a good enquiry looks like. Without this, the system fills a funnel nobody is watching.

  2. 2

    Audit current sources

We read your call log, WhatsApp chats, enquiry sheet and platform dashboards. The baseline is recorded: enquiries by source, reply time, conversion and cost per order.

  3. 3

    Strategise the channel mix

Search and maps are chosen for people ready to buy, ads for people who are not yet looking, and content and referrals for trust.

  4. 4

    Implement capture and follow-up

Pages, forms, tags, the lead record and the first-reply message are built and tested end to end. We submit test enquiries ourselves before any media money is spent.

  5. 5

    Measure and optimise

Enquiries are traced to source and judged by what became orders, not by volume alone. Channels that fill the sheet with poor enquiries are cut back. How often you are reported to is agreed in writing.

Where this fits

Three pieces of sales work, in this order.

This work sits inside sales process design, at stage 1, prospecting and lead generation. The audit comes before it, and sales management keeps it running.

  1. Step 1

    Sales audit

Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.

Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.

  2. Step 2 · you are here

    Sales process design

One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.

Start here if every salesperson sells differently.

  3. Step 3

    Sales management

A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

Start here if the team has targets and no routine.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Should we buy leads from a portal?
Try it only on a small scale and count what you get. Portal leads are shared with other contractors, and many are people comparing rates. Track each lead to a signed job, and stop if the count does not pay for the spend.
What counts as a qualified lead for a borewell?
A person with a plot or farm in your area, a clear need and the means to pay, who has agreed to a site visit. A caller asking only a rate per foot is an enquiry. Log it as one and answer it, but do not count it as a job.
How do we stop the same person being counted twice?
Save each caller by phone number and village in one register before you reply. If the caller rings again, add a line to the entry. Customers often call two contractors and then you again, so one name should hold all contacts.
Do referrals from pump dealers count as leads?
Yes, and they are often the best. Record the dealer's name against the job, tell the dealer when it is signed and thank them in person. A dealer who sees nothing back stops sending people.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
