Get founders to find you before they hire a CA and a lawyer separately.

A founder finishes a job in Whitefield, tells two friends about the idea, and that night searches ‘how to start a company in Karnataka’. The four pages read name no one who can be called, so the founder may book the CA the family already knows. The startup consultant who wrote the best explainer on the subject never hears of the search.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

Realistic editorial illustration of business consultants at work in India

In one paragraph

A startup consultant helps first-time founders set up and grow a new business: choosing a structure, registrations, Startup India recognition, a first product plan and a first customer. Marketing for startup consultants puts you in front of founders at the moment they decide to start. GullySales builds that visibility and the follow-up that turns a call into a paid engagement.

If your work comes from incubators, CAs and past founders, plus the occasional LinkedIn post that travels, it holds until an incubator changes its panel. First-time founders with an idea and a deadline are searching today, and a consultant with no findable page is not in the running.

How buyers decide

How startup consultants are chosen.

A first-time founder is not buying a service, the founder is trying to stop feeling lost. A friend who has started something gets asked first, then Google and YouTube, then LinkedIn to see who posts sensible things. What they want is one person who can say what to do first, what can wait and what costs money.

Founders with a technical or professional background choose on clarity, since they do not know the paperwork. Family businesses starting a new venture choose on trust and on whether you have worked with someone from their community. Some come through incubators, college cells or a bank's startup desk, with a short list that already includes you or does not.

A call in which you say plainly what they do not need yet tells a founder how you will behave once the fee is paid.

The problem

What usually goes wrong for startup consultants.

What owners tell us on the first call, in their words.

  • “Founders think we only do registration”

The company incorporation is the smallest part of what we do, but our page reads like a form-filling service, so serious founders compare us on price with online registration portals.

  • “Every enquiry is an idea, not a project”

Someone calls with a half-formed plan and no budget. We spend an hour on the phone and cannot tell which of them will become a paying client.

  • “We are invisible outside two incubators”

Most clients come from the same two or three programmes. If one of them changes its mentor panel, our pipeline thins out at once.

  • “Founders vanish after the first call”

They say they will think about it and come back after the pitch or after the first customer. Nobody follows up, and the next consultant they meet gets the work.

  • “We cannot show results without naming founders”

Founders value privacy about their funding and pricing, so our best engagements stay out of our marketing and the website looks thin.

  • “Nobody knows which service to start with”

A founder sees thirty services on a menu and does not know whether to buy registration, a business plan or a pitch deck. The page needs a clear first step.

What we do

What we do for startup consultants.

Everything included for startup consultants.

  1. A founder's first-steps page

A plain page that tells a founder what to do in the first month, what can wait, and where you come in. It carries a short form that asks for the idea, the stage and the city.

  2. Pages for each question founders search

Separate pages for private limited versus LLP, DPIIT recognition, and startup grants in your state, written in the founder's own words and checked by your own people.

  3. An incubator and college introduction pack

A one-page note on how you work with an incubator's cohort, a mentor session you can run on site, and a simple way to refer founders to you.

  4. A first-call script and a record of every enquiry

Questions to ask in the first call, so you can see who is serious, and a sheet that tracks each founder's stage and the next step.

  5. Anonymous founder stories

Short write-ups of the problem a founder arrived with, what you did and what changed, with names and numbers left out unless the founder agrees.

How the result is measured

  • Founder enquiries by source
  • Calls booked from the first-steps page
  • Calls that became paid engagements
  • Founders still in follow-up with no decision
  • Referrals from incubators, CAs and past clients
  • Gap between a founder's enquiry and your first reply

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

Worth a page and a campaign of their own

Company structure and incorporation advice · Startup India and DPIIT recognition support · State startup policy and grant applications · Business plan and financial model for a bank or investor · Pitch deck review before investor meetings · GST, trademark and licence setup · First product and first customer planning · Mentoring retainers for the first year

Priority campaigns

Campaigns for what startup consultants most want to sell.

Each one planned around when your buyers decide, and measured against the baseline.

  • The first thirty days for a new founder

A short run of WhatsApp and email messages that goes to anyone who downloads your checklist, each answering the next question a founder has after registration.

  • Startup grant and scheme season

A page and a Google search campaign built around state grants and recognition schemes when applications open, with a short eligibility check.

  • Campus and incubator sessions

A talk you can give to a college entrepreneurship cell, with registration through a simple page and a reminder before the day.

  • Founder-to-founder referral note

A message to past clients asking one thing, whom they know who is about to start, with a one-line way to introduce them.

Beyond search

Where we reach buyers of startup consultants, beyond Google.

Search matters, but it is rarely the only way this industry's buyers find a supplier.

  • Incubators and accelerators

A list of the incubators, technology business incubators and college cells in your region, and an introduction with a clear offer for their cohorts.

  • CAs, company secretaries and lawyers

A founder's first stop is the professional who files the incorporation. An outreach note explains where your work starts, so they know when to refer a founder to you.

  • Bank and fintech startup desks

A note for the relationship manager who sees a new startup account and a thin business plan, explaining the business-plan work you do.

  • Co-working spaces

Every co-working centre in your city has a community manager looking for founder sessions. Offer one on choosing between a private limited company and an LLP.

Who it is for

This is written for these startup consultants.

  • First-time founders leaving a job to start a company
  • Technical founders building software or hardware products
  • Family businesses launching a new venture or a separate company
  • Women entrepreneurs applying for state and central schemes
  • Student and campus startup teams
  • Small manufacturers starting a product company
  • Professionals turning a practice into a company, such as doctors and architects
  • Agri and rural startups looking for scheme support

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • You want a guaranteed Google ranking or a guaranteed number of leads. Nobody honest can promise either.
  • You need enquiries by next week and have nobody to answer them.
  • You want posts and reach reported, not enquiries and orders.

How it works

How the work runs for startup consultants

The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.

  1. 1

List the founders you want and the work you give away free

Which founders you do best with, how they reach you today, and what you want to stop doing for free.

  2. 2

    Find where enquiries drop

Where founders come from, which calls became engagements, and what became of those who said they would think about it.

  3. 3

    Write the first-steps pages

The founder pages and checklist are drafted, and your team reviews each for accuracy before it goes live.

  4. 4

    Set up the introductions

Outreach to incubators, CAs and co-working managers is drafted for your approval, with a form and a WhatsApp number for founders to reach you.

  5. 5

    Track founders to the outcome

Every enquiry is recorded through to its outcome, and the pages and outreach are revised toward what brought paying founders.

Where this fits

Three pieces of sales work, in this order.

GullySales builds every engagement from three pieces of sales work. This page is not one of them, but the same three steps apply to the business behind it.

  1. Step 1

    Sales audit

Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.

Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.

  2. Step 2

    Sales process design

One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.

Start here if every salesperson sells differently.

  3. Step 3

    Sales management

A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

Start here if the team has targets and no routine.

FAQ

Questions startup consultants ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Can marketing bring me founders who are ready to pay?
Pages built around a moment when a founder needs help, such as a recognition or grant application, draw people with a reason to act. Marketing cannot give a budget to an idea that has none, and the first-call questions are there to show you that early.
Will you write about Startup India and grant rules?
In general terms only. Schemes and eligibility differ by state and change, so your team checks every page against the current notice, and no page promises a grant or recognition.
Do I need ads or is content enough?
Explainer pages and referrals suit this work best, because founders look for an adviser before they buy. Search ads can be added for the weeks when a grant or recognition window is open.
Can you use my founder clients as case studies?
Only with their agreement. Stories are anonymous by default, and funding amounts or results appear only where the founder has approved the exact wording.
I already get work from two incubators. Why add more?
Because two sources are a risk, not a pipeline. Search and CA referrals are sources you control, and they sit beside the incubator relationships rather than replacing them.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
Fixes to reply time, follow-up and your Google Business Profile are the quickest to show, because the enquiries already exist. Ads can follow soon after follow-up is in place. SEO and content take longer. How long each takes depends on your business, and we tell you which applies to you after we have spoken. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
To start, last month's enquiries in any format and time with whoever handles them. After that, access to the accounts the work touches, such as the website, Google Business Profile or CRM.
