Photography and videography studios · WhatsApp marketing

Turn the WhatsApp chat a couple starts into a sent quote and a held date.

WhatsApp marketing for a photography studio means using the number couples and brands already message to share portfolios, send quotes and follow up on dates, with permission from the people you write to. GullySales sets up a business profile, a catalogue and message templates, and checks the platform's current rules before anything is sent in bulk.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

For photography and videography studios

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “The first chat is where the studio is judged”

A couple who messages a studio on WhatsApp expects a personal reply with a portfolio link, not a long wait. The tone, the speed and the clarity of the first answer shape whether they send a second message or move to another studio.

  • “A portfolio sent as a stream of photos is forgotten”

Dozens of images pasted into a chat disappear into the buyer's gallery. A short list of links, one for weddings, one for corporate work and one for product shoots, is something the buyer can find again and forward to the family.

  • “Sharing a past client's pictures needs their consent”

Sending a couple's wedding images to a new enquiry is publishing them to a stranger. Consent written into the booking terms covers it, and a studio without that line should ask before sharing.

  • “A broadcast to every old contact can backfire”

A promotional message to people who never agreed to receive one gets blocked or reported. Send to people who have asked for updates or have booked before, and check the platform's current rules on business messaging.

What we do

What we deliver for photography and videography studios.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A WhatsApp Business profile set up properly

The studio name, description, working hours, website link and shoot types filled in, so the profile itself answers the first questions.

Result: A buyer who opens the profile sees what the studio does.

  2. A catalogue of packages and shoot types

Packages and add-ons listed as catalogue items with a sample image and a short description, for sharing in a chat.

Result: A buyer can browse offerings without waiting for a message.

  3. Quick replies for the first questions

Saved replies for common asks such as availability on a date, package contents and portfolio links, ready to edit before sending.

Result: The first answer goes out with the buyer's name and date in it.

  4. Labels that mirror the booking stages

Chat labels for new enquiry, quote sent, date held and booked, matched to the stages in your record.

Result: The team sees which chats need a reply at a glance.

  5. An opt-in routine for updates

A simple way to ask past clients and planners whether they want occasional news, such as season availability, and a record of who said yes.

Result: You message only people who agreed to hear from you.

  6. Message templates for delivery and review requests

Wording for the day the album or film is delivered, with a link to leave a review.

Result: Every delivery ends with a review request in the buyer's chat.

How the result is measured

  • Messages delivered
  • Reply rate
  • Enquiries from WhatsApp

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

What to capture or send

The chat carries the first questions, the quote and the held date.

First reply with the five questions
The date, venue, event type, number of guests and whether the couple has seen your style, so the quote that follows is accurate.
Package catalogue
A set of cards for each shoot type with what is included and the starting figure, kept in the business catalogue.
Portfolio link for the shoot type
A link to the page for that kind of work, in place of a stream of photographs the client will not return to.
Quote with hold date
The quote as a document with the date held and when the hold ends, so the chat has a clear deadline.
Consent note before sharing past work
A check that a past client agreed before their pictures are sent to a new one, since the chat is easy to forward.

Who it is for

This is written for these photography and videography studios.

  • Wedding photography and cinematography studios
  • Event and corporate videographers
  • Product and e-commerce photography studios
  • Maternity and family portrait photographers
  • Real estate and architecture photographers
  • Drone and aerial videography services
  • Multi-photographer studio chains

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • The studio number is the lead photographer's personal phone, and enquiries and family messages would mix.
  • You plan to send old contacts a broadcast without asking, which risks complaints and the number.

How it works

How the whatsapp marketing work runs

The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.

  1. 1

Read the chats you already have

We read how customers write to you, which questions repeat and where a chat goes quiet. The repeated questions decide what gets automated first.

  2. 2

Sort the list and the permission

Contacts who asked to hear from you are separated from numbers that only sit in a phone book. We agree the wording new contacts will see before they say yes.

  3. 3

Choose the app or the API

One phone and a small team can stay on the ordinary app. Several people on one number, templates or a CRM link need the API through a provider, which is its own piece of setup work.

  4. 4

Write the replies and the plan

The greeting, away message, saved replies and handover rule are written in your words and approved by you. The message plan and its templates follow.

  5. 5

    Connect the record and test

Each link carries its source line and each chat lands in the CRM. We test on real phones, including a customer who asks for a person.

  6. 6

    Read the unanswered questions

A question the first reply could not answer becomes a new saved reply or a fixed handover. Stop requests are watched too, with the number's quality rating where the API is used, since both show a message plan that has gone too far.

Where this fits

Three pieces of sales work, in this order.

This work sits inside sales process design, at stage 0, foundation. The audit comes before it, and sales management keeps it running.

  1. Step 1

    Sales audit

Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.

Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.

  2. Step 2 · you are here

    Sales process design

One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.

Start here if every salesperson sells differently.

  3. Step 3

    Sales management

A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

Start here if the team has targets and no routine.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Can we send our portfolio and quote on WhatsApp?
Yes, and buyers expect it. We help you send links and a PDF quote with a clear package list rather than loose images, so the buyer can forward them to family and compare studios.
Should we use a broadcast list for season offers?
Only for people who agreed to receive messages from you. We set up an opt-in record and check the platform's current rules first. For anyone else, a personal message about a specific date is the safer choice.
Do we need the paid business API?
A small studio can run well on the WhatsApp Business app with labels and quick replies. The API suits a team handling many chats at once. We recommend one after looking at how many enquiries you handle.
What if a couple sends their whole family into the chat?
Welcome them, then ask the couple to name one person to coordinate with you. A big group makes decisions slow and details get lost, so a single contact keeps the dates and the quote straight.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.

Your next practical step

Tell us what you are trying to grow, and we will read it before we call.

Eight short steps, mostly taps. Skip anything you would rather answer on the call.
