Brand story development · Marketing
Your founder's story is told at every meeting and written down nowhere.
Brand strategy decides what you stand for and who you serve best. This page is the smaller piece inside it: the account of how the business got here, written so that somebody other than the founder can tell it.
In one paragraph
Brand story development writes down how the business started, what it refused to do along the way, and why a buyer should believe any of it. GullySales interviews the people who were there and hands back one account in three lengths, for the website, the pitch deck and the salesperson on a call.
Most owners already have one. It comes out at the third meeting, once the customer has relaxed and the price is settled, and it is the reason the order gets signed. It has never been on paper.
So the salesperson who joined in April cannot tell it. Nor can the website, which says established 1998 and committed to quality. What the founder says in a room and what the business says in writing are two different companies.
The problem
Does this sound like your business?
What owners tell us on the first call, in their words.
“Every person here tells the customer something different”
The founder's version, the sales head's version and the brochure disagree on when it started and what you actually do. A buyer who reads all three reads it as sloppiness.
“The About page was written by whoever built the website”
It opens with a line about excellence in service since 1998 and names no person. Nothing in it could not be said word for word by your competitor.
“The story only works when the founder is in the room”
Orders follow a long conversation only one person can have. Growth then stops at the number of meetings that person can sit in.
“Nobody can say why you turned that work down”
The decisions that shaped the business, the order you refused and the line you would not cross, are the most convincing material you own. None of it is recorded.
What we do
Everything that is included.
Each deliverable, and what it gets you. Nothing here is an extra.
Founder and staff interviews
Two or three recorded conversations with the founder, plus a long-serving employee and someone from the first years. The founder's memory is not the only one.
Fact check against your own record
Dates, registrations, the first premises, the first customer and the first product checked against your documents before a word of it is published.
The one-page story
What the business started to fix, what went wrong, what changed and where it stands now. Written to be read aloud without embarrassment.
Three lengths of the same account
One line for an introduction or a signature, one paragraph for a proposal and a profile, and the full page for the website and the press.
The refusals and the turning points
The decisions that prove the claim: the order you declined, the year you replaced a batch out of your own pocket, the switch that cost you a season.
Who tells which part
The founder's first-person version, the company's third-person version, and the two minutes a salesperson uses when a customer asks how long you have been at this.
Where each version lives
The About page, the profile document, the opening slides of a pitch deck, the careers page and the reply a salesperson sends at the start of a deal.
A signed, dated master version
One approved document with the founder's sign-off on it, so the next agency does not quietly invent a fourth version.
How the result is measured
- Salespeople able to tell the story with no founder present
- Time readers spend on the About page and the profile document
- Enquiries that mention something from the story
- Versions in circulation, which should be one
- Deals where the buyer asked about your background
Recorded as a baseline before work starts, then reported every month against it.
Who it is for
This is written for you if these sound familiar.
- Second-generation businesses where the father's name is the trust and nobody has written down why
- Founders who win in the room and lose when the buyer reads the website afterwards
- Manufacturers pitching to a procurement team that wants to know who it is dealing with
- A firm about to build a website, a profile document or a pitch deck and stuck on the About page
- Clinics, practices and studios where the founder's reason for starting is the whole difference
- Businesses whose staff each describe the company differently to the same customer
Not for
It is not the right fit if.
- A business six months old, which has a plan rather than a story and should say so plainly
- Trades where the buyer compares a rate on a WhatsApp group, because no account of your origins moves that number
- Founders unwilling to sit through two or three hours of questions, since there is no other source for this
How it works
From your first message to the first monthly report.
No open-ended retainer. Each step has a point in time and something you receive.
01 · Day 1
Free audit call
45 minutes with whoever handles your enquiries: how they arrive, how fast they are answered, where they are lost.
02 · Within a few working days
Written, scored report
Six areas scored, fixes ranked by return and cost. If you want our help, the scope and fee come with it, in writing.
03 · Before work starts
Baseline recorded
Enquiries by source, reply time, conversion and cost per order, written down so every later month has an honest comparison.
04 · Month 1
The first fix goes live
Usually the cheapest one on the report: reply time, a follow-up sequence or the marketing-to-sales handover.
05 · Every month
Report against the baseline
What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words.
06 · Month 3 to 6
Renew on the numbers
The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. No twelve-month lock.
How the brand story development work runs
- 1
Read what already exists
Old brochures, the current website, the registration papers and anything written for a tender. The gaps between them are where the questions start.
- 2
Interview the founder properly
Two or three hours, recorded, mostly about the years before the business worked. The useful material is rarely in the first thirty minutes.
- 3
Check it with people who were there
A long-serving employee, an early customer and a family member remember the same event differently, and the difference is where the truth sits.
- 4
Draft it and read it aloud
The draft is read back to the founder in the room. Anything the founder would not say to a customer across a table gets cut.
- 5
Approve, then place it
You sign one version. We then put it where it has to live and brief the people who will be telling it.
Proof
What happened when owners fixed this.
Real clients, the work we did, and the result as it was recorded. Where no number was recorded, none is claimed.

Why us
Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.
Marketing and sales, as one job
Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.
The person on the first call does the work
No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.
A baseline before anything starts
Your numbers are written down on day one, so every monthly report compares against something honest.
The fee in writing, split three ways
Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.
No lock-in, no guarantees we cannot keep
Three to six months at a time. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.
One office, and we say so
Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.
#257, 3rd floor, Sri Nanjundeshwara Complex, Nagarbhavi 8th Block, Outer Ring Road. How we work.
Engagement options
Ways to work with us.
Pick the size of commitment that fits. Every option starts with the free audit.
Option 1
The audit on its own
A 45-minute call and a written, scored report. It says honestly whether you need outside help, and many fixes are ones your own team can make.
Option 2
One fix, scoped
Start with the fix the audit ranks first, such as reply time or follow-up. The fee is in writing before anything starts.
Option 3
A three-to-six-month programme
We run the work month by month, report against the baseline every month, and you renew on the numbers. No twelve-month lock.
Option 4
Guidance for your own team or agency
We plan, brief and check the work of your in-house team or current agency, instead of replacing them.
