GullySales

E-commerce · Fresh & Frozen Food

The mangoes were perfect on the farm and bruised by the time the buyer opened the box.

Fruit is sold by season, variety and ripeness, and the buyer knows all three matter. Someone searching for Alphonso in April wants to know if it is ripe now or in four days, whether it is from Ratnagiri or Devgad, and whether a dozen means twelve fruits or a box of a given weight.

A 90-minute audit call and a written, scored report. Turnaround, reporting and term are agreed in writing after the audit.

In one paragraph

Fruit e-commerce is the online sale of fresh fruit by the kilo, the dozen or the box, from farms, orchards, wholesalers and fruit shops, to buyers who cannot touch what they order. GullySales works on how your listings describe variety, ripeness and packing, how buyers find you when a season opens, and how the first box earns the second.

A fruit seller has a short window. When the variety is in season, searches spike and buyers compare several farms. Out of season, the same store has to survive on what it grows or imports.

Who it is for

This is written for you if you sell fruits online.

  • Orchard owners selling mangoes, grapes, pomegranates or oranges directly to city buyers
  • Fruit wholesalers moving into home delivery and gift boxes
  • Fruit shops that take orders on WhatsApp and want a store
  • Importers of apples, kiwi, cherries and other imported fruit selling to consumers

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • A seller who has no control over ripeness at dispatch. If the box can arrive green or overripe by chance, fix that before you advertise.
  • Anyone shipping soft fruit long distances in an ordinary carton

How buyers choose

What decides the sale of fruits.

  1. Variety by name and origin

Alphonso, Kesar, Banganapalli, Nagpur orange, Shimla apple. Buyers search by variety and place, and judge you on whether the page knows the difference.

  2. Ripe now or ripe later

A box of raw mangoes that ripen in a few days suits one buyer, and a ready-to-eat box suits another. The page has to say which one it is.

  3. Weight in the box and fruit count

A buyer works out the price per kilo and wants to know how many pieces come in the box. Sold by the dozen in one listing and by the kilo in another, you look as if you are hiding something.

  4. Gift boxes and the occasion

Fruit baskets for festivals, hospital visits and office gifts are bought for a date and a recipient, with a card and a delivery address that is not the buyer's.

Where sales are lost

What usually goes wrong when you sell fruits online.

In the words sellers use on the first call.

  • “Customers say the fruit was not sweet”

Sweetness is a promise buyers carry in their head. Describing the variety honestly, and when in the season it is at its best, stops the comparison with last year's box.

  • “The season ends and so do the orders”

A mango farm sells for a few months and then has a list of buyers it never speaks to. Nothing is planned for them until next summer.

  • “Fruit is damaged in transit and buyers want a full refund”

Without a photograph on arrival, you cannot tell a rough courier from an unripe fruit. A simple unboxing photo request settles most cases quickly.

What we do

What you get for fruits.

Each deliverable and what it is there to change.

  1. A variety guide for your orchard or range

A page for each variety describing taste, ripeness stage, season and how to store it, in plain words that match what buyers type.

  2. A box specification for each size

Weight, count, packing method and ripening stage on every listing, so a dozen means the same thing across the store.

  3. A season waitlist form

A signup that asks which varieties and pincode, used to announce the first harvest by WhatsApp or email.

  4. An unboxing and claim process

A request for a photograph on arrival and a stated route to a replacement or refund, so a bad box does not become a bad review.

How the result is measured

  • Purchases
  • Conversion rate
  • Customer acquisition cost
  • Repeat purchase rate
  • Return rate
  • Waitlist signups before the season opens

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Free audit call

90 minutes with whoever handles your enquiries: how they arrive, how fast they are answered, where they are lost.

  2. After the call

    Written, scored report

Six areas scored, fixes ranked by return and cost. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come with it, in writing.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

Enquiries by source, reply time, conversion and cost per order, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

Usually the cheapest one on the report: reply time, a follow-up sequence or the marketing-to-sales handover.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

What we need from you

What to have ready before the audit call.

None of it has to be tidy. We read what you have.

  • The varieties you sell and the weeks each is available
  • Photographs of a packed box and the same box opened
  • Your last season's damage and refund requests
  • A list of past buyers, with their areas
  • Your delivery partners and the pincodes they handle

Selling in India and abroad

Selling fruits beyond your own market.

Where you sell decides sizes, units, seasons and returns. We work from Bengaluru and have no overseas office, so for a new country we start from your own sales and the platforms you already use.

  1. Fresh fruit leaves India as an export

Mangoes, grapes and pomegranates go abroad through exporters who follow the destination's import rules. If you export, the work is finding importers and the enquiries they send, which is different from selling to a household.

  2. Indian buyers abroad

Families in other countries ask for Indian varieties they cannot easily find. Whether any fresh fruit can legally enter is checked with your adviser, and the first step is looking at which countries your existing orders come from.

FAQ

Questions about selling fruits online.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

How do I describe ripeness on a fruit listing?
State it as a stage, such as raw and ripens in a few days, or ready to eat on arrival. Buyers compare your box with a memory, so a stage is better than the word fresh. We also add a card to the box with storage notes.
Should I sell by the dozen or by the kilo?
Pick the unit your buyers use and show the other beside it. Mangoes and bananas are asked for by the dozen, grapes and apples by the kilo. Showing both removes the arithmetic buyers do in their head.
Can I send fruit gift boxes to another city?
Only if the fruit travels well and your courier can deliver by the date promised. We would check your carrier and the route before putting a gift page live, because a late box ruins the occasion.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped in the free audit and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after the audit, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
Fixes to reply time, follow-up and your Google Business Profile are the quickest to show, because the enquiries already exist. Ads can follow soon after follow-up is in place. SEO and content take longer. How long each takes depends on your business, and the audit tells you which applies to you. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you meet on the audit call. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
For the audit, last month's enquiries in any format and 90 minutes with whoever handles them. After that, access to the accounts the work touches, such as the website, Google Business Profile or CRM, and time for the review meetings.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.
