GullySales

E-commerce · Fresh & Frozen Food

My customers want sabzi that morning, and a basket that is never the same twice.

Vegetables are bought for the next meal. The buyer wants a few kilos of what the family cooks, wants it to be fresh and clean, and has no wish to log in and fill a form for it. Whoever makes ordering easiest, and gets the greens there looking fresh, gets the repeat.

A 90-minute audit call and a written, scored report. Turnaround, reporting and term are agreed in writing after the audit.

In one paragraph

Vegetable e-commerce is the online sale of fresh vegetables, leafy greens and herbs, as a weighted basket or a subscription, to households that buy on a rhythm. GullySales works on how your basket is presented, how buyers choose and change what is in it, and how a first order turns into a standing one.

Prices change with the mandi, and so does what is available. A page that shows tomatoes at one price and then charges another is more damaging here than in any other food category.

Last updated 7 Oct 2026. Product, labelling and advertising rules for fresh & frozen food differ by product and change. We describe them in general terms, so check the current position with your own adviser or the regulator before you publish a claim.

Who it is for

This is written for you if you sell vegetables online.

  • Farmers and farmer groups delivering vegetables directly to city apartments
  • Mandi traders and shop owners starting home delivery in their own neighbourhood
  • Organic vegetable growers who sell by subscription basket
  • Residential community suppliers who deliver to gated societies on fixed days

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • A seller who cannot say what will be in the basket when the buyer orders
  • Anyone who wants to cover many cities from a single farm with no local partner for the last mile

How buyers choose

What decides the sale of vegetables.

  1. Fixed basket or choose your own

Some buyers want a basket picked for them at a set price and some want to name each vegetable. Offering one without the other loses a kind of buyer.

  2. Greens and herbs

Palak, methi, coriander, curry leaves. Wilted bunches are the first thing a buyer mentions in a review, so photographs of how the bunch is tied and packed matter.

  3. Local and country varieties

Buyers ask for country tomatoes, ridge gourd, raw banana or a vegetable particular to their kitchen. A seller who stocks them and says so is searchable.

  4. Substitution and missing items

When something is out, the buyer wants to be asked, not given a stranger's choice. The page has to state what you do about it.

Where sales are lost

What usually goes wrong when you sell vegetables online.

In the words sellers use on the first call.

  • “The basket is different each time and customers complain”

A basket that changes with the harvest is a good thing if the buyer expected it. A line on the page about how contents are chosen, and a message before dispatch, turns a surprise into a feature.

  • “Margins disappear on small orders”

A small basket with a long delivery run loses money. A minimum order and a delivery-day rule per area are a better fix than a price rise.

  • “Societies and apartments are hard to reach one flat at a time”

Gated communities group buyers in one place, so a message on the resident group or a pilot with the association reaches many families in one stop.

What we do

What you get for vegetables.

Each deliverable and what it is there to change.

  1. A basket menu with contents and weights

A page for each fixed basket, saying what usually goes in, how it is chosen and what happens when an item is short.

  2. An order and delivery-day calendar by area

Which locality gets which day, with the cut-off for orders, so packers plan the run and buyers see their day.

  3. A society pilot plan

The first gated community to approach, who to speak to, what is offered and how the first orders are collected.

  4. A missing-item message

A set of WhatsApp lines for a missing or substituted vegetable, so the buyer is asked before they are surprised.

How the result is measured

  • Purchases
  • Conversion rate
  • Customer acquisition cost
  • Repeat purchase rate
  • Return rate
  • Orders per delivery route

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Free audit call

90 minutes with whoever handles your enquiries: how they arrive, how fast they are answered, where they are lost.

  2. After the call

    Written, scored report

Six areas scored, fixes ranked by return and cost. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come with it, in writing.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

Enquiries by source, reply time, conversion and cost per order, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

Usually the cheapest one on the report: reply time, a follow-up sequence or the marketing-to-sales handover.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

What we need from you

What to have ready before the audit call.

None of it has to be tidy. We read what you have.

  • Your current price list and the baskets you sell
  • The localities and societies you deliver to now
  • Your order sheet or WhatsApp chats for the last few weeks of orders
  • Complaints about quality, wilted greens or missing items
  • Your delivery staff, vehicles and the routes they run

Selling in India and abroad

Selling vegetables beyond your own market.

Where you sell decides sizes, units, seasons and returns. We work from Bengaluru and have no overseas office, so for a new country we start from your own sales and the platforms you already use.

  1. Vegetables are a local business

Fresh vegetables do not ship to households overseas. If your farm exports, buyers are importers and the work is finding them, which sits outside this page.

  2. Dried and frozen vegetable lines

Dehydrated and frozen vegetable products travel differently and carry different rules, which are checked with your adviser before any overseas push. Begin with the countries your wholesale enquiries already come from.

FAQ

Questions about selling vegetables online.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

How do I get my first customers for vegetable delivery?
Start in a few apartment societies near you, not the whole city. A first-order offer and a fixed delivery time work better than a general ad. Once one society is steady, the next one is easier.
Should the basket price be fixed or change with the market?
A fixed basket price with a changing mix is easier to sell and to pack. Per-kilo prices suit buyers who name each vegetable. Many sellers offer both, with the rate shown and the date it was set.
How do I handle vegetables that are out of stock?
Ask the buyer before you substitute, by a short WhatsApp message with a few options. Buyers forgive a missing item if they are asked and not told afterwards.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after the audit, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
Fixes to reply time, follow-up and your Google Business Profile are the quickest to show, because the enquiries already exist. Ads can follow soon after follow-up is in place. SEO and content take longer. How long each takes depends on your business, and the audit tells you which applies to you. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you meet on the audit call. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
For the audit, last month's enquiries in any format and 90 minutes with whoever handles them. After that, access to the accounts the work touches, such as the website, Google Business Profile or CRM, and time for the review meetings.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.
