E-commerce · Appliances and home comfort

Nobody buys an air conditioner in January, and by May every seller is shouting.

Few categories are as tied to the calendar as heating, cooling and air quality. Fans and air conditioners sell in a rush before summer, heaters when the first cold morning arrives in the north, air purifiers when the smog does. A seller who plans on a flat monthly budget either overspends in the dead weeks or has no stock and no adverts when the rush comes.

A 90-minute audit call and a written, scored report. Turnaround, reporting and term are agreed in writing after the audit.

In one paragraph

Heating, cooling and air quality e-commerce is the online sale of air conditioners, fans, heaters, air purifiers, humidifiers and dehumidifiers, bought for one room in one climate and often only when the weather forces it. GullySales works on how your listings fit the product to the room, how installation and service questions are answered, and how spend is timed to the weeks buyers are actually looking.

The buyer is usually solving one room. A bedroom of a certain size, a baby's room, a flat with a balcony, a shop. Capacity, noise, running cost and fitting are all judged against that room, so a listing that only prints a number does not help.

The products also differ in how they are sold. An air conditioner is a heavy, installed purchase with a technician and a pipe run. A fan is a cheap, fast purchase. A purifier is bought on a worry. The six pages here are written for those differences.

Last updated 7 Oct 2026. Product, labelling and advertising rules for heating, cooling & air quality differ by product and change. We describe them in general terms, so check the current position with your own adviser or the regulator before you publish a claim.

Who it is for

This is written for you if you sell heating, cooling & air quality online.

  • Air conditioner and cooling brands selling through marketplaces and their own site
  • Multi-brand dealers who install air conditioners and want online enquiries
  • Fan, heater and humidifier brands whose sales depend on a few weeks in the year
  • Importers of purifiers and dehumidifiers selling to homes, clinics and offices
  • Brands whose products are sold by dealers and who now want a direct online route

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • A seller who makes health claims about air quality or breathing that cannot be supported
  • A seller who has no installation or service arrangement for products that need one

How buyers choose

What decides who wins in heating, cooling & air quality.

  1. The room and its size

Buyers measure a room in square feet or by its use and ask which capacity suits it. A listing that only gives a rating leaves them calling a dealer to find out.

  2. Running cost and the electricity bill

For cooling and heating, the question is what it will do to the bill. Buyers look at the energy label and at what other owners say about the bill.

  3. Installation and who comes to the house

Air conditioners need a fitter, a stand or bracket, copper pipe and a power point. Buyers ask whether installation is included and who does it, before they ask the price.

  4. Noise, filters and what it costs to keep running

A bedroom product has to be quiet. Purifiers and humidifiers raise another question: what do the filters or the tank cost to replace, and where are they sold.

Where sales are lost

What usually goes wrong when you sell heating, cooling & air quality online.

In the words sellers use on the first call.

  • “The season is short and we miss it”

Searches rise before the weather turns. A listing refreshed after the first hot week, or a campaign set up late, has already lost the buyers who planned ahead.

  • “Customers buy the wrong capacity and blame us”

A unit too small for the room runs all day and disappoints. A guide that asks for the room size is cheaper than the return and the review.

  • “Installation delays turn into one-star reviews”

The product arrives and the fitter does not. The review is about installation, but it sits on your listing.

  • “Off-season, the phone is silent and the stock is not”

Cooling stock sits through winter. Without a plan, the money is tied up and the next season starts with last year's models at a discount.

What we do

What you get for heating, cooling & air quality.

Each deliverable and what it is there to change.

  1. A capacity guide for each product

A page that links room size and use to a model, so buyers stop asking on WhatsApp which capacity to choose.

  2. A seasonal calendar by region

When each product is searched in each part of the country, and when stock, listings and campaigns must be ready.

  3. An installation and service page

What is included, who fits it, what to prepare at home and how to book, for products that need a technician.

  4. A returns and reviews report by cause

Capacity, noise, fitting delays and faults grouped, showing which can be fixed on the page and which need an operations change.

How the result is measured

  • Purchases
  • Conversion rate
  • Customer acquisition cost
  • Repeat purchase rate
  • Return rate
  • Installation requests per enquiry

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Free audit call

90 minutes with whoever handles your enquiries: how they arrive, how fast they are answered, where they are lost.

  2. After the call

    Written, scored report

Six areas scored, fixes ranked by return and cost. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come with it, in writing.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

Enquiries by source, reply time, conversion and cost per order, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

Usually the cheapest one on the report: reply time, a follow-up sequence or the marketing-to-sales handover.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

What the work involves for heating, cooling & air quality

  1. 1

Look at your year, month by month

In the free audit we read your sales by month and city, your returns and your installation arrangements, to see where each product's season really starts.

  2. 2

Fix the pages before the season

Capacity guides, installation information and listing images are put right on the products that sell first, before any extra spend.

  3. 3

Plan the campaigns by region and week

Shopping and Meta spend is planned against the calendar, with a baseline of purchases, returns and installation requests recorded first.

  4. 4

Report against the baseline and prepare the next season

Results are measured against that baseline at intervals agreed in writing after the audit, and the off-season is used for service and renewal contact.

What we need from you

What to have ready before the audit call.

None of it has to be tidy. We read what you have.

  • Your store and marketplace links for each product
  • Your sales by month and by city for the last two years
  • Your installation and service arrangements and where they cover
  • Return reasons and reviews mentioning noise, size or fitting
  • Stock held now and what is hard to move

Selling in India and abroad

Selling heating, cooling & air quality beyond your own market.

Where you sell decides sizes, units, seasons and returns. We work from Bengaluru and have no overseas office, so for a new country we start from your own sales and the platforms you already use.

  1. Climate and standards decide the market

Products made for Indian voltage, heat and humidity do not always suit other markets. Voltage, plugs, refrigerant rules and local approvals vary, so each country is checked with your adviser before you list.

  2. Gulf and Africa are worth examining, where you already sell

Hot-climate markets and Indian communities abroad may show up in your order data. Start with those, and look at who installs and services the product there before you ship.

FAQ

Questions about selling heating, cooling & air quality online.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

When should I start advertising air conditioners or fans?
Before the weather turns, not after. Buyers search and compare ahead of the first hot week, and the weeks differ by city. We look at your own sales by month and city in the audit and plan from that.
Can I say an air purifier cleans the air or protects health?
Be careful. Health and performance claims depend on testing and on rules that change, so your adviser checks them. Describe the filters, the room size it is rated for and what the buyer can see, and leave out the promise.
Do I need to offer installation to sell air conditioners online?
Buyers will ask for it before they pay, so yes, either through your team or a named partner. A listing that is vague about fitting loses the order or earns the review.
How do I sell heaters and fans in a short season?
Prepare early, spend hard in the weeks that count and keep a reason to talk to past buyers the rest of the year. The audit looks at what you sold in each month before we suggest how much to hold for each.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped in the free audit and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after the audit, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
Fixes to reply time, follow-up and your Google Business Profile are the quickest to show, because the enquiries already exist. Ads can follow soon after follow-up is in place. SEO and content take longer. How long each takes depends on your business, and the audit tells you which applies to you. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you meet on the audit call. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
For the audit, last month's enquiries in any format and 90 minutes with whoever handles them. After that, access to the accounts the work touches, such as the website, Google Business Profile or CRM, and time for the review meetings.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.
