E-commerce · Heating, Cooling & Air Quality

The buyer has a damp wall and a ruined wardrobe, and has never heard of a dehumidifier.

Few people search for a dehumidifier by name. They search for mould on the wall, how to stop a musty smell, how to dry clothes in a flat in July. The seller who answers those searches is the one the buyer learns the product from.

A 90-minute audit call and a written, scored report. Turnaround, reporting and term are agreed in writing after the audit.

In one paragraph

Dehumidifiers online are appliances that draw moisture out of room air, sold as compressor and desiccant models, and bought in the monsoon, in coastal cities and in homes with damp walls, wardrobes or a basement. GullySales works on how your listings meet the buyer where the problem shows, such as mould on shoes and a smell in cupboards, and on how capacity, drainage and running cost are explained for one room.

The product is also misunderstood. A small desiccant unit and a compressor unit are different machines for different rooms, and a buyer who picks the wrong one thinks the whole idea does not work.

Who it is for

This is written for you if you sell dehumidifiers online.

  • Brands selling compressor and desiccant units in coastal and monsoon-heavy cities
  • Importers of dehumidifiers for homes, studios, godowns and clinics
  • Sellers of wardrobe and small-space dehumidifiers on marketplaces
  • Sellers who supply dehumidifiers to offices, archives and cold-storage rooms

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • A seller who promises to cure damp walls that need a repair, not a machine
  • A brand that gives no capacity or room-size basis for its claims

How buyers choose

What decides the sale of dehumidifiers.

  1. Litres per day and the room

The capacity figure is read against the room, and buyers ask in what conditions it was measured. Humid coastal rooms and dry rooms give very different results.

  2. Compressor or desiccant

A compressor unit suits warm, humid rooms, while desiccant units are used in cooler spaces and for small enclosures. Buyers need the difference stated plainly.

  3. Where the water goes

A tank that has to be emptied, or a drain pipe to a bathroom. Buyers ask how often the tank fills and whether continuous drainage is possible.

  4. Noise, heat and the electricity bill

It runs for hours, in a bedroom or beside a wardrobe, so the buyer reads for noise, warmth from the unit and running cost.

Where sales are lost

What usually goes wrong when you sell dehumidifiers online.

In the words sellers use on the first call.

  • “Customers bought a small unit for a big damp room”

A cupboard-sized unit in a hall does little, and the review says it does not work. A room-size guide is the cheapest fix.

  • “We are searched for only after the rains start”

By the time the monsoon has damaged a home, buyers want a unit in hand. A listing that was live and well-stocked before the rains takes the order.

  • “People want to cure a damp wall and ask us”

A dehumidifier lowers humidity in the room. Seepage through a wall is a building problem. Without a clear line, a buyer feels the product failed them.

What we do

What you get for dehumidifiers.

Each deliverable and what it is there to change.

  1. A damp-problem finder

A page that separates humid air from seepage, so the buyer learns what a dehumidifier will and will not fix.

  2. A capacity and room table

A simple table of room size and conditions against the unit that suits, using the figures you can support.

  3. A drainage guide

A picture guide to emptying the tank and fitting the drain pipe, shown on the listing and in the box.

  4. A pre-monsoon readiness plan

Stock, listings and campaigns ready by city before the rains reach it.

How the result is measured

  • Purchases
  • Conversion rate
  • Customer acquisition cost
  • Return rate
  • Business quotation requests
  • Returns citing size or results

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Free audit call

90 minutes with whoever handles your enquiries: how they arrive, how fast they are answered, where they are lost.

  2. After the call

    Written, scored report

Six areas scored, fixes ranked by return and cost. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come with it, in writing.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

Enquiries by source, reply time, conversion and cost per order, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

Usually the cheapest one on the report: reply time, a follow-up sequence or the marketing-to-sales handover.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

What we need from you

What to have ready before the audit call.

None of it has to be tidy. We read what you have.

  • Your dehumidifier range with type and capacity
  • How the capacity figure was measured
  • Sales by city and month in earlier monsoons
  • Reviews and returns mentioning size or results
  • Business customers you already supply, if any

Selling in India and abroad

Selling dehumidifiers beyond your own market.

Where you sell decides sizes, units, seasons and returns. We work from Bengaluru and have no overseas office, so for a new country we start from your own sales and the platforms you already use.

  1. Humid markets with their own makers

Dehumidifiers are common in damp climates abroad and in Gulf and coastal markets. Capacity ratings, plugs and approvals differ by country, so they are checked with your adviser before you list.

  2. Heavy to ship

A compressor unit is heavy and the freight can exceed the margin. Smaller desiccant units and spare parts are likelier to work, and your own order data should say where to look first.

FAQ

Questions about selling dehumidifiers online.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Can a dehumidifier cure damp walls?
No. It lowers the humidity in the room, and if water is entering through a wall or roof, that needs a repair. Say so on the page. A buyer who knows this is still a buyer, and not a return.
How do I explain compressor and desiccant units?
In two sentences. One, a compressor unit cools the air to pull water out and works best in a warm, humid room. Two, a desiccant unit uses a drying material and is used in cooler rooms or small spaces. Then show which of yours is which.
Is a dehumidifier worth selling outside the monsoon?
In some places, yes. Coastal cities, basements and rooms for clothes, books or equipment have a year-round reason. Look at where your off-season orders come from and build from there.
What should the listing say about mould?
Describe the room humidity and what the machine does, and leave out promises about mould or health. Claims on mould and allergy belong with your adviser.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped in the free audit and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after the audit, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
Fixes to reply time, follow-up and your Google Business Profile are the quickest to show, because the enquiries already exist. Ads can follow soon after follow-up is in place. SEO and content take longer. How long each takes depends on your business, and the audit tells you which applies to you. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you meet on the audit call. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
For the audit, last month's enquiries in any format and 90 minutes with whoever handles them. After that, access to the accounts the work touches, such as the website, Google Business Profile or CRM, and time for the review meetings.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
