A working accountant has two hours at night and wants to know the class will not waste them.

The buyer of professional courses already has a job. They study after work, on a Sunday, or between client calls. Their question is whether the course fits a tired evening, what exactly they will learn and whether the person teaching has done the work.

A 90-minute audit call and a written, scored report. Turnaround, reporting and term are agreed in writing after the audit.

In one paragraph

Professional courses are courses in finance, accounting, HR, project management, management and similar fields, taken by working adults for a qualification, a certificate or a step in their work. GullySales works on the pages and the counselling that answer a busy buyer's doubts, and on the employer who pays.

Last updated 7 Oct 2026. Product, labelling and advertising rules for online courses differ by product and change. We describe them in general terms, so check the current position with your own adviser or the regulator before you publish a claim.

Who it is for

This is written for you if you sell professional courses online.

  • Training companies running accounting, taxation, payroll and finance courses online
  • Institutes offering exam preparation for professional qualifications
  • Trainers of HR, project management, supply chain and management certificates
  • Subject experts who sell a short paid course to colleagues in their own trade

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • Courses that say they lead to a particular exam result or a job at a named employer. We cannot write that, and we advise against it.
  • Sellers that cannot say who the faculty are. Professionals check that first.

How buyers choose

What decides the sale of professional courses.

  1. Faculty with a record in the field

A practising person teaching the subject matters more here than a famous name. Buyers look at the faculty's own work and how long they have taught it.

  2. Schedule against working hours

Evening and weekend slots, recordings that stay available and a plan for missed classes decide whether a working person can enrol. The timetable belongs on the first screen.

  3. Syllabus against the exam or the work

The buyer lines the topics up against the exam syllabus or the gap at work. A topic list that matches the wording of the qualification is easier to trust.

  4. Employer approval and a bill

A company may reimburse the fee, and asks for a GST invoice, a fee structure and the course outline on a page it can forward. If these do not exist, the manager says no.

Where sales are lost

What usually goes wrong when you sell professional courses online.

In the words sellers use on the first call.

  • “Professionals ask for the brochure and never reply”

They are in meetings when your call comes. A brochure sent on WhatsApp, a message with a time to speak and a recorded sample class reach them when they are free.

  • “Students stop attending once the office gets busy”

Dropout rises when work peaks, such as at the close of a financial year. Recordings, a catch-up session and a message from the faculty keep the student connected.

  • “Our page promises more than the course does”

Words like certified and assured attract the buyer who will later ask for a refund. Describe what is covered and who recognises the certificate, and only that.

  • “The company pays but we only talk to the employee”

The manager who approves the fee has never seen the course. A short page and a letter written for them, with the fee and a GST invoice, are part of the sale.

What we do

What you get for professional courses.

Each deliverable and what it is there to change.

  1. A faculty page set

A profile for each teacher showing their work and teaching years. It answers the first question a professional asks.

  2. A syllabus table

Topics against hours and against the exam or job skill they serve. It makes the course comparable with another.

  3. An employer pack

A short document with the fee, GST invoice details, schedule and course outline. It gives the manager what they need to say yes.

  4. A missed-class plan

What a student receives when work stops them attending: recording, notes and a catch-up. It keeps enrolment from lapsing in busy weeks.

How the result is measured

  • Registrations for the sample class
  • Sample class attendance
  • Paid enrolments
  • Employer-sponsored enrolments
  • Completion of the course
  • Retention into the next course

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Free audit call

90 minutes with whoever handles your enquiries: how they arrive, how fast they are answered, where they are lost.

  2. After the call

    Written, scored report

Six areas scored, fixes ranked by return and cost. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come with it, in writing.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

Enquiries by source, reply time, conversion and cost per order, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

Usually the cheapest one on the report: reply time, a follow-up sequence or the marketing-to-sales handover.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

What we need from you

What to have ready before the audit call.

None of it has to be tidy. We read what you have.

  • Course list with fees, schedules and syllabus
  • Profiles and teaching history of each faculty member
  • Recent enquiries and what happened to each
  • Any company or group enrolments you have taken
  • Your refund policy and the certificate you give

Selling in India and abroad

Selling professional courses beyond your own market.

Where you sell decides sizes, units, seasons and returns. We work from Bengaluru and have no overseas office, so for a new country we start from your own sales and the platforms you already use.

  1. Indians working abroad study for Indian qualifications

Some buyers live in the Gulf or elsewhere and prepare for Indian professional exams. They need classes at their local evening, a recording and a fee in their own currency.

  2. Local qualifications are another business

A course for a foreign certificate needs faculty who know that body's current syllabus. Do not advertise it until that is true.

FAQ

Questions about selling professional courses online.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Should I show the pass results of my students?
Only if every figure can be proved and is stated with the batch and year. Many pages that quote results cannot back them, and regulators and platforms are strict on claims. Safer to show the syllabus, the faculty and the sample class.
How do I get companies to enrol their staff?
Give the manager a one-page document and a person to call. Corporate buying is slower and goes through approval, so keep a record of who you spoke to and ask when the next budget decision is made.
Do I need to run live classes or are recordings enough?
For exam preparation, live classes with the faculty are often what buyers pay for, since they can ask doubts. For skills courses, recordings with a live doubt session may do. Choose what your faculty can sustain.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped in the free audit and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after the audit, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you meet on the audit call. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
For the audit, last month's enquiries in any format and 90 minutes with whoever handles them. After that, access to the accounts the work touches, such as the website, Google Business Profile or CRM, and time for the review meetings.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.
