E-commerce · Smart Home & Security

My flat has a bell wire from 1998 and a door that I am not allowed to drill.

A video doorbell sits at the one spot every visitor, delivery rider and neighbour passes. The buyer thinks first about whether it will fit the door frame and wall, and whether the building will mind. A flat in a gated society, a rented one and an independent house raise different questions.

A 90-minute audit call and a written, scored report. Turnaround, reporting and term are agreed in writing after the audit.

In one paragraph

Video doorbells are camera doorbells with a chime that show the visitor on a phone, powered by battery or by the existing bell wiring, and sold for houses, flats and apartments. GullySales works on what the buyer needs to know before fitting: power, mounting, chime, society rules and the visitor footage, and on turning a single doorbell sale into a camera and lock sale.

The doorbell usually comes with a wired chime of its own, which many buyers have never heard of until they read the box.

Who it is for

This is written for you if you sell video doorbells online.

  • Brands selling battery and wired video doorbells on Amazon and Flipkart
  • Sellers of doorbells with a bundled indoor chime for flats
  • Smart home sellers who want doorbell buyers to add a camera or a lock
  • Dealers who fit doorbells for builders and apartment societies

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • A seller who cannot say how the doorbell is powered and what is needed to fit it
  • Anyone who wants the page to say the product stops delivery theft or break-ins

How buyers choose

What decides the sale of video doorbells.

  1. Power: battery, wired or both

A battery unit suits a rented flat, but the buyer wants to know how often it is recharged and what the warning looks like. A wired unit needs a transformer that the building may not have.

  2. Mounting without drilling

Adhesive, a door-edge bracket, a peephole mount or screws. Tenants and apartment owners look for the option that leaves no hole.

  3. Does it ring inside the house

A chime unit that plugs into a socket, a phone alert only, or a link to a smart speaker. A buyer who does not hear a visitor with the phone in another room returns it.

  4. Visitor view and two-way talk

The camera angle, whether a parcel at the floor level is visible, the quality of the talk-back and delay on a mobile network.

Where sales are lost

What usually goes wrong when you sell video doorbells online.

In the words sellers use on the first call.

  • “Tenants ask if they can fit it and we say nothing”

The buyer worries about the landlord and the damage deposit. A page that says what can be fitted without drilling takes the worry away.

  • “People think it rings only on the phone”

A buyer without an indoor chime hears nothing when the phone is on silent. The review says it is useless.

  • “The wired version needs a transformer and we sold it to a flat”

A buyer who cannot connect it needs an electrician, and the return is booked before the electrician arrives.

The scope

The work we would propose for video doorbells.

Measured on purchases, conversion rate, cost to win a customer, average order value and repeat purchases. Anything here that needs a platform or tool we have not used with you is confirmed in the audit before it goes in the scope.

What we do

What you get for video doorbells.

Each deliverable and what it is there to change.

  1. A power and mounting chooser

Battery, transformer or no-drill adhesive against the type of home, so that buyers pick the unit that suits and installation is realistic.

  2. A chime explainer

What rings where, with and without the indoor unit, and how to add a second chime, said once and clearly.

  3. A tenant's guide

What to ask a landlord, how to fit without a hole and how to put the old bell back, in plain words.

  4. A footage and view sample

Clips of the view from the doorbell at standing and floor level, day and night, with the talk-back shown working.

How the result is measured

  • Purchases
  • Conversion rate
  • Average order value
  • Customer acquisition cost
  • Return rate
  • Returns for wiring, mounting and chime confusion

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Free audit call

90 minutes with whoever handles your enquiries: how they arrive, how fast they are answered, where they are lost.

  2. After the call

    Written, scored report

Six areas scored, fixes ranked by return and cost. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come with it, in writing.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

Enquiries by source, reply time, conversion and cost per order, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

Usually the cheapest one on the report: reply time, a follow-up sequence or the marketing-to-sales handover.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

What we need from you

What to have ready before the audit call.

None of it has to be tidy. We read what you have.

  • Your doorbell models and how each is powered
  • Returns and reviews mentioning chimes, wiring or fitting
  • Society or landlord restrictions customers have mentioned
  • Bundles you sell or could sell with the doorbell
  • Installer availability in your main cities

Selling in India and abroad

Selling video doorbells beyond your own market.

Where you sell decides sizes, units, seasons and returns. We work from Bengaluru and have no overseas office, so for a new country we start from your own sales and the platforms you already use.

  1. Doorbell wiring is different elsewhere

Transformer voltages and bell wiring standards vary, so a wired doorbell is not always a plug-and-fit product abroad. Battery models travel better, and radio approvals are confirmed with your adviser.

  2. Footage rules

Rules on recording a public street or a neighbour's door differ by country. The listing wording is checked with your adviser for each one.

FAQ

Questions about selling video doorbells online.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Does a video doorbell need a drill?
Not always. Adhesive plates and door-edge brackets exist for battery models. Wired ones need to be screwed to the wall. Say which applies to which model, and show the no-drill option on its own page for people in rented flats.
Why do buyers say the doorbell does not ring?
Because the alert goes to the phone, and the phone was on silent or in another room. An indoor chime fixes it, and the listing should say clearly whether one is included.
Can I sell a doorbell without taking on installation?
Yes, if it is a battery model with a no-drill mount and a clear setup guide. A wired one needs an installer route or a very clear page. Your return data shows which you have.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped in the free audit and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after the audit, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
Fixes to reply time, follow-up and your Google Business Profile are the quickest to show, because the enquiries already exist. Ads can follow soon after follow-up is in place. SEO and content take longer. How long each takes depends on your business, and the audit tells you which applies to you. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you meet on the audit call. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
For the audit, last month's enquiries in any format and 90 minutes with whoever handles them. After that, access to the accounts the work touches, such as the website, Google Business Profile or CRM, and time for the review meetings.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.
