Roofing contractors · Buyer persona

Write down who rings, who pays and who signs before you price the shed roof.

A buyer persona for a roofing contractor is a written profile of each kind of person who commissions a roof: the factory owner against a monsoon deadline, the builder specifying a system, the society committee and the homeowner. GullySales works on turning your past sites into those profiles and on using them to decide what each buyer is shown and told first.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What buyer persona means

A buyer persona is a plain description of the kind of customer who actually buys from you. It includes what they search, what worries them and who else they ask before deciding. GullySales builds this from real enquiries and past sales rather than a generic template, then uses it to write every page and advert.

For roofing contractors

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “The caller is not the person who signs”

A plant's purchase or maintenance manager phones for the quotation, while an owner or a partner releases the budget. A quotation written only for the caller stalls on the desk of someone who never saw the shed. Persona work records both people and what each needs to read before agreeing.

  • “A factory owner buys a date, not a roof”

The monsoon sets the deadline, so the owner judges contractors on who visited, measured and wrote the scope clearly. The persona holds the question this buyer asks first, the date that worries them and the finished shed of similar span they want to see.

  • “Builders and architects read method before rate”

They specify the roof system, so they look at the structure drawing, the safety practice at height and projects already finished before they look at a price. A persona for them lists those documents, which a homeowner persona never needs.

  • “Societies and homeowners decide with other people”

A terrace shed or car park roof passes through a committee, a neighbour's opinion and a WhatsApp thread of photographs. The persona notes who forwards the quotation, which pictures get shared and what the committee asks about leaks and noise.

What we do

What we deliver for roofing contractors.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. Persona sheets for each buyer type

One page each for the plant owner, the plant manager, the builder, the architect, the society committee and the homeowner, drawn from your past sites and enquiries.

Result: Your team can say who they are speaking to before they pick up.

  2. A decision map for each job type

A note of who enquires, who inspects, who holds the budget and who signs, written separately for sheds, terrace roofs and repairs.

Result: You can see which person a quotation never reached.

  3. Question lists from real enquiries

The first questions buyers asked on calls and WhatsApp, grouped by persona, with the answer your engineers agree to give.

Result: Whoever answers the phone gives the same answer.

  4. A guide to what each buyer sees first

Which photograph, project page and line of the quotation goes in front of each persona.

Result: Pages and messages are written for a named buyer instead of everybody.

  5. Persona tags in the enquiry sheet

Each enquiry marked with its persona, so signed jobs can be counted by buyer type.

Result: You can check which buyer turns a site visit into a signature.

How the result is measured

  • Enquiry match to persona
  • Conversion rate by persona
  • Content aligned to persona

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Your brief

You tell us what you need in a few short steps: your business, what you want, where enquiries come from and how they are handled.

  2. After the brief

A conversation and a written scope

We read it, then talk with whoever handles your enquiries. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come in writing, and nothing starts before you have read them.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

The numbers this work is meant to move, such as enquiries, quotations, orders, visits or renewals, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

The fix we agreed to start with is put in place and measured against the baseline, whether that is a reply, a follow-up, a page, a listing or the handover between marketing and sales.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

How the buyer persona work runs

  1. 1

    Understand the current view

We start with how your team currently describes the customer, since the gap between belief and reality is often the finding itself.

  2. 2

    Audit past enquiries and sales

We look at recent enquiries and closed deals to see who actually bought, not who was assumed to buy.

  3. 3

    Interview customers and staff

Short, structured conversations surface the real language, worries and triggers behind a purchase.

  4. 4

    Build the personas

Findings are written into short, usable persona documents rather than a long report.

  5. 5

    Apply to your marketing

We show exactly where each persona should change a page, an ad or a script you already have.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.

#257, 3rd floor, Sri Nanjundeshwara Complex, Nagarbhavi 8th Block, Outer Ring Road. How we work.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

How do we build personas without a research budget?
From your own records. We go through past quotations, signed jobs and lost ones, and sit with the person who takes your calls. The sheets come from what real buyers said and did on your sites, and they are corrected as new enquiries arrive.
Should the roof type or the buyer decide how many personas we write?
The buyer. One plant owner can buy a PEB shed and a polycarbonate terrace roof, while a builder and a homeowner buying the same sheet want different proof. Start with the buyers who bring you work now.
Do repeat owners need their own persona?
Yes, as a separate profile. A plant you roofed before knows your work and calls about a leak, an extension or insulation. They need a prompt reply and the record of the earlier job, not an introduction to the firm.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
