Eco resorts · Search engine optimisation

Be the page a traveller finds when they search for your reserve, not just your name.

SEO for an eco resort is the work of appearing when a traveller searches for a jungle lodge, a mangrove stay or a bamboo cottage near a place they have already picked. GullySales works on the pages, the wording and the proof that match those searches to your property.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What search engine optimisation means

Search engine optimisation (SEO) is the work of getting your website to appear when a buyer searches Google for what you sell. GullySales builds pages around real search terms, fixes technical issues that block ranking, and tracks which searches actually bring enquiries.

For eco resorts

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “Travellers search the place before the property”

The query is a reserve, a backwater or a hill town with the word stay beside it. A page that only repeats the resort name is missing from those searches. The page has to say where the lodge sits and what is nearby that a guest came to see.

  • “The word eco gets scrolled past”

Pages that open with eco-friendly and nothing else look like every other board. Search results favour a page that names the solar array, the water system and the village hiring, because those details answer the question the guest typed.

  • “Seasons change what people search for”

A guest looks for tiger sightings before the park opens, for monsoon stays when the hills turn green, for birds when the migrants arrive. Pages built around those moments catch the search at the time the trip is being planned.

  • “Location pages carry weight”

A guest wants to know how far the lodge is from the station, the gate and the nearest town. A plain page of travel directions and distances, with a map, gets read and linked to by travel writers and groups.

What we do

What we deliver for eco resorts.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A search plan built on places and seasons

A list of reserves, regions, birds, animals and festivals that travellers search, matched to pages you own or need.

Result: You can see which search each page is meant to win.

  2. Property and room pages that name the practices

Each room type and each practice written with plain detail: where the power comes from, what happens to waste, who is hired locally.

Result: A visitor finds evidence on the page, not adjectives.

  3. A how-to-reach and what-to-see page

Directions from the nearest station and airport, park gate timings to check, and what a guest will see by season.

Result: Guests and agents have one page to share.

  4. Technical fixes for slow and mobile pages

Image weight, page speed and layout checked on a phone with weak signal.

Result: The site loads for a guest in a poor-coverage area.

  5. Search reporting against a recorded baseline

Impressions, clicks and enquiry-page visits from your own search console, set against figures noted at the start.

Result: You can see whether the pages are being found.

How the result is measured

  • Ranking positions
  • Organic traffic
  • Enquiries from organic search

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

How it works

How the search engine optimisation work runs

The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.

  1. 1

    Audit and baseline

We record where the site stands today: positions, traffic, technical faults and the enquiries search currently produces. Nothing starts until this number is written down.

  2. 2

    Decide what to rank for

We map the searches your buyers use, in your words and theirs, and pick the ones worth the effort for your margin and your capacity.

  3. 3

    Fix the foundations

Technical faults first, because the cheapest gains are usually there. Then the Business Profile and directory consistency.

  4. 4

    Build the pages

A page for each thing you do, written to answer the question it is searched for, with a clear next step at the end.

  5. 5

    Publish and earn mentions

Content goes out on the calendar. Links and mentions are earned from real relationships, not bought.

  6. 6

    Measure, report, adjust

At the interval agreed at the start we report what moved and what did not, and change the plan when the numbers say so.

Where this fits

Three pieces of sales work, in this order.

This work sits inside sales process design, at stage 1, prospecting and lead generation. The audit comes before it, and sales management keeps it running.

  1. Step 1

    Sales audit

Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.

Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.

  2. Step 2 · you are here

    Sales process design

One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.

Start here if every salesperson sells differently.

  3. Step 3

    Sales management

A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

Start here if the team has targets and no routine.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Does a certification help us rank?
A certificate on the page can reassure a guest, but ranking depends on the page content, links and technical setup. Describe the practice behind it in plain words, and check the issuing body's rules before you display a mark.
Should we write a blog about wildlife?
Write about what a guest at your lodge will actually see and do, from your own naturalist's knowledge. General wildlife articles compete with large sites. Local, first-hand pieces are more useful to the guest and to search.
How long before the pages show in search?
Nobody can state that honestly. It depends on the age of the site, competing pages and the work done. We record a baseline and show movement as it appears.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
