Travel agencies and tour operators · Pay per click advertising

Buy the searches a portal cannot serve, in the month people are planning.

Pay per click advertising puts your agency in front of a family while the dates are still being argued about at home. GullySales runs search campaigns on the trips you operate, keeps the budget off flight and hotel searches, and asks for the dates on the form.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What pay per click advertising means

Pay per click advertising (PPC) is paying a fee each time someone clicks your advert on Google or another platform. It puts you at the top of a search page immediately, instead of waiting for ranking to build. GullySales sets the targeting, writes the ad text and checks spend against enquiries received.

For travel agencies and tour operators

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “Bidding on flight tickets is money lit on fire”

The portals will outspend you on every ticketing search, and the click that arrives wanted a fare, not an agent.

  • “Advertise in January for May”

School holiday trips are decided over the winter. The family clicking in May has already booked with somebody else.

  • “The click has to reach WhatsApp”

A landing page with a form and no number loses the father who wants to ask one question before dinner.

What we do

What we deliver for travel agencies and tour operators.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. Campaigns built on trips, not on destinations

One campaign per package you operate, worded the way the trip is actually sold, so a Char Dham budget is never spent on a Goa search.

Result: Each trip gets a budget you can judge on its own.

  2. Flight, hotel and portal searches kept out

Negative keywords on cheap flights, hotel booking, refund, PNR status, visa agent jobs and the portal brand names, reviewed as new ones appear.

Result: The budget stops competing with MakeMyTrip on its own ground.

  3. A landing page per trip with the number on it

The page behind each advert carries that itinerary, photographs from your own departures and a click to chat button beside the form.

Result: A father with one question can ask it instead of leaving.

  4. A form that asks the dates and the headcount

Travel dates, adults and children with ages, departure city and whether passports are ready, all asked before anybody builds an itinerary.

Result: You know whether it is a job before you spend an hour on it.

  5. Spend moved to the months people plan in

Budget raised over the winter for summer holidays, before the muhurtham months for honeymoons and when yatra registration opens, instead of spread flat across the year.

Result: You are in front of them while the family is still deciding.

  6. Cost per booking, not cost per click

Each month's spend read against enquiries, quotes sent and bookings taken for every trip, measured against the baseline from the start.

Result: You can stop advertising the package that never converts.

How the result is measured

  • Cost per click
  • Cost per enquiry
  • Enquiries from paid search

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

Searches to bid on and block

The searches worth paying for as a travel agency, and the ones to keep out.

Package searches, such as Kerala honeymoon package from Mumbai
Bid. A search with the trip and the departure city is a family comparing quotes. Match each advert to one package and show what is included and what is not.
Group tour and yatra searches, such as Char Dham yatra package
Bid ahead of each departure's registration. The page should show the dates, how the group travels and who accompanies it, and let people ask a question on WhatsApp before they pay.
Visa-only and ticket-only searches, such as Dubai visa online or cheap flight
Block unless you sell visas or tickets as a service. A person who wants only a visa will leave when asked about a package, and the click is lost either way.
Corporate and group searches, such as school tour operator
Bid in a separate campaign. The form should ask the group size, the dates and who approves, because these buyers compare several operators and need a written proposal.
Where the click lands
Send the click to the page for that trip, showing the itinerary, inclusions, exclusions and your own departure photographs. Put a WhatsApp button beside the form for a parent who has one question.
Counting a real enquiry
Count a request for a quote with travel dates and a headcount. Mark which ones paid an advance, by trip, because a trip that gets many enquiries but no bookings is not worth advertising.

Who it is for

This is written for these travel agencies and tour operators.

  • Retail travel agencies selling domestic packages
  • Tour operators running their own group departures
  • International holiday and honeymoon specialists
  • Pilgrimage and yatra tour organisers
  • Air, rail and bus ticketing agents
  • Corporate travel and MICE agencies
  • Visa and travel documentation services
  • School and college educational tour operators
  • Local guides and sightseeing operators

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • You want a guaranteed Google ranking or a guaranteed number of leads. Nobody honest can promise either.
  • You need enquiries by next week and have nobody to answer them.
  • You want posts and reach reported, not enquiries and orders.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Your brief

You tell us what you need in a few short steps: your business, what you want, where enquiries come from and how they are handled.

  2. After the brief

A conversation and a written scope

We read it, then talk with whoever handles your enquiries. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come in writing, and nothing starts before you have read them.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

Enquiries by source, reply time, conversion and cost per order, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

The fix we agreed to start with is put in place and measured against the baseline, whether that is reply time, a follow-up sequence, the page buyers land on or the handover between marketing and sales.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

How the pay per click advertising work runs

  1. 1

    Understand the total budget

We agree the full paid advertising budget available across all platforms, rather than planning each one separately.

  2. 2

    Audit current platform performance

We compare existing campaigns on a shared basis to see where the budget currently performs best and worst.

  3. 3

    Build the cross-platform plan

Campaigns are structured across platforms with a shared measurement standard from the outset.

  4. 4

    Implement and monitor

Campaigns run with budget allocated dynamically based on real-time performance.

  5. 5

    Measure and reallocate

We report performance and shift budget toward what is working, within agreed limits.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

How much should we spend on ads?
Enough to test one trip properly in one season, rather than a little spread over everything. We work the number back from what a booking earns you once hotels and transport are paid.
Can we advertise honeymoons and destination weddings?
Yes, and aim it at the city the couple lives in rather than the place they are going. A Bengaluru couple planning Bali searches from Bengaluru, months before the wedding.
Should we advertise for the travel month or for the trip itself?
Advertise the trip, in the weeks that families plan it. Someone who searches for a summer holiday decides well ahead of the month. Match your spend to the planning window for each trip, not to the date of departure.
Our price is higher than a portal's. Will ads still work?
They can, if the page says what you provide that a portal does not, such as a named escort or a plan for the whole family. Do not compete on price alone. Show your own departures and the reasons the cost is higher.
How do we stop people using our itinerary to book on their own?
Send a clear summary first and the detailed hotel-by-hotel plan once the traveller has confirmed interest or paid a small booking amount. Follow up within a day of sending any quote, because the traveller who hears back quickly rarely rebuilds the trip alone.
Should we list our packages on large travel portals?
It can help a tour operator fill group departures, but the portal owns the customer relationship and takes a share. We usually build direct enquiries and repeat business first, then decide on portals for specific departures.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
