Manufacturing · Food Processing

Bakers and hotels buy the flour that behaves the same way every time.

A baker changes flour with reluctance. The dough, the rise and the colour of the product depend on it, and a bad batch costs a day's output. So a baker's trial is slow and careful, and the mill that supports it wins.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

Food processing staff inspect grains, spices and packed foods

In one paragraph

A flour mill grinds wheat and other grains into atta, maida, rava and other flours, sold in bulk to bakers and caterers or packed for shops. GullySales gives a mill a way to show its flours, its consistency and its packing to commercial buyers, and a routine for samples, trials and repeat orders.

Household atta is a different sale, made through shops and a brand. Most mills do both and need to keep the two conversations apart.

Last updated 16 Oct 2026. Licence, certification, labelling and advertising rules for food processing differ by product and change. We describe them in general terms, so check the current position with your own adviser or the regulator before you publish a claim.

Who it is for

This is written for you if flour mills is what you make or sell.

  • Mills selling maida, rava and atta to bakeries and sweet shops
  • Mills supplying hotels, canteens and caterers in bulk
  • Mills with a packed atta brand for kirana shops
  • Multi-grain and speciality flour mills

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • A mill with variable wheat sourcing that cannot hold flour behaviour steady.
  • A trader who buys flour and relabels it.

How buyers choose

What decides the sale of flour mills.

  1. Trial batch in the baker's own recipe

A bakery tests a small lot in its own bread, biscuit or sweet. They compare water absorption, dough handling and the finished product.

  2. Flour type and use

Maida for bakery, atta for rotis, rava for sweets and snacks. The buyer expects the page to say which flour is for which job.

  3. Pack size and weight accuracy

Bulk sacks for bakers, small packs for shops. Dealers check the weight and the sealing.

  4. Delivery reliability

A bakery runs out of flour at the worst moment. The mill that delivers on the promised day keeps the account.

Where orders are lost

What usually goes wrong when you sell flour mills.

In the words owners use on the first call.

  • “The baker trialled us and went back to the old mill”

Without follow-up, you never learn what failed. A call after the first batch tells you whether it was the flour or the price.

  • “Our atta is good but shops stock the big brands”

A shopkeeper stocks what customers ask for. Local search and a reason to switch are your tools.

  • “Hotels and caterers do not know we deliver”

A delivery area and a minimum order should be stated plainly. Buyers search by area.

The scope

The work we would propose for flour mills.

Measured on qualified enquiries, quotation requests, follow-up on each quotation, orders won and, where you sell through dealers or shelves, repeat orders by channel. Anything here that needs a platform, directory or tool we have not used with you is confirmed with you before it goes in the scope.

What we do

What you get for flour mills.

Each deliverable and what it is there to change.

  1. A flour-by-use guide

One page a baker can check: which flour, which job, which pack.

  2. A trial-batch form and feedback sheet

Records what was sent and what the baker reported.

  3. A delivery-area page

States where you deliver and the minimum lot.

  4. A bakery target list

By area, with the type of product each makes.

How the result is measured

  • Trial batches sent
  • Feedback calls completed after each trial
  • Orders won from trials
  • New bakery and caterer accounts
  • Repeat orders
  • Packed brand shop listings

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Your brief

You tell us what you need in a few short steps: your business, what you want, where enquiries come from and how they are handled.

  2. After the brief

A conversation and a written scope

We read it, then talk with whoever handles your enquiries. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come in writing, and nothing starts before you have read them.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

The numbers this work is meant to move, such as enquiries, quotations, orders, visits or renewals, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

The fix we agreed to start with is put in place and measured against the baseline, whether that is a reply, a follow-up, a page, a listing or the handover between marketing and sales.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

What we need from you

What to have ready before we talk.

None of it has to be tidy. We read what you have.

  • Flours you mill and their pack sizes
  • Current bakery and caterer customers
  • Delivery vehicles and areas covered
  • Photographs of the mill, packing and storage
  • Any lab reports or licences you hold

Export and new regions

Selling flour mills beyond your home market.

Where you sell decides standards, documents, payment terms and freight. We work from Bengaluru and have no overseas office, so for a new region we start from your own enquiries, your existing buyers and the directories you already use.

  1. Importers and bakery suppliers

Overseas buyers include importers and distributors serving Indian communities. They ask for specifications and samples.

  2. Packing and shelf life

Flour travels with questions about shelf life on arrival and pest control. Settle your answer first, and check destination requirements with your adviser.

FAQ

Questions about selling flour mills.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

How do I win a bakery from another mill?
Offer a trial lot and ask for the feedback. Bakers change on proof, and a mill that follows up stands out.
Should we sell packed atta?
Only if you can support shops and the brand. It is a different business from bulk and needs its own time.
How far should we deliver?
As far as you can deliver reliably. State the area on your page and extend when the first area is steady.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on what is being changed and how many of the people who matter see it. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever the work touches, such as your profiles, your website or your accounts, and time with the people who can answer our questions.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

Engagement options

Ways to work with us.

Pick the size of commitment that fits. Every option starts with your brief and a conversation.

  1. Option 1

  2. Option 2

Start with the fix that matters most, such as reply time or follow-up. The fee is in writing before anything starts.

  3. Option 3

We run the work, report against the baseline, and you renew on the numbers. The term and the reporting are agreed in writing first.

  4. Option 4

Guidance for your own team or agency

We plan, brief and check the work of your in-house team or current agency, instead of replacing them.
