GullySales

Manufacturing · Food Processing

Everyone's chilli powder looks the same until the buyer smells yours.

Spice buyers judge by colour, aroma and consistency, and none of that travels in a photograph. So the sale depends on getting a sample into a buyer's hand and then asking them how it compared.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

Spices product collection

In one paragraph

Spice manufacturing is the cleaning, grinding, blending and packing of whole spices into powders and masalas, sold loose, packed or in bulk. GullySales shows a spice maker's range, sourcing and packing to wholesalers, retailers and export buyers, and runs the sample and follow-up routine that turns them into regular orders.

The sample is the expensive step. A maker who posts twenty and follows up on two has paid for twenty.

Last updated 16 Oct 2026. Licence, certification, labelling and advertising rules for food processing differ by product and change. We describe them in general terms, so check the current position with your own adviser or the regulator before you publish a claim.

Who it is for

This is written for you if spice manufacturing is what you make or sell.

  • Chilli, turmeric and coriander powder makers selling to wholesalers
  • Blended masala and regional spice brands
  • Makers of whole spices cleaned and graded for bulk buyers
  • Spice makers packing for private labels and institutional kitchens

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • A trader who buys ground spice and repacks it. Your claims on sourcing would not be true.
  • A maker who cannot keep colour and aroma steady from lot to lot.

How buyers choose

What decides the sale of spice manufacturing.

  1. Sample for colour, aroma and heat

Wholesalers and institutional kitchens test a small pack for colour, aroma and pungency, side by side with the spice they use now.

  2. Sourcing and grade

Which origin, which variety, how it is cleaned and graded. Buyers ask where the chilli or turmeric comes from.

  3. Pack size and shelf life

Retail sachets, one-kilo packs, thirty-kilo sacks. Buyers choose the pack that suits their trade and ask how long it keeps.

  4. Licences and test reports

Bulk and export buyers ask for the licence number and a lab report on the lot. Say what you hold, checked with your adviser.

Where orders are lost

What usually goes wrong when you sell spice manufacturing.

In the words owners use on the first call.

  • “The wholesaler tried our sample and went quiet”

Each sample needs a call that asks which spice he compared it with and what he would pay. Silence is usually a no for a reason you can fix.

  • “Small brands cannot get shelf space”

A kirana shopkeeper stocks what shoppers ask for. Local search, a Google profile and a visible pack create that pull.

  • “Export buyers ask for reports we do not have ready”

Test reports, origin details and pack specs should sit in one folder, current, before the first message arrives.

The scope

The work we would propose for spice manufacturing.

Measured on qualified enquiries, quotation requests, follow-up on each quotation, orders won and, where you sell through dealers or shelves, repeat orders by channel. Anything here that needs a platform, directory or tool we have not used with you is confirmed with you before it goes in the scope.

What we do

What you get for spice manufacturing.

Each deliverable and what it is there to change.

  1. A spice catalogue with pack sizes

One document a wholesaler can show their partner.

  2. A sample tracking sheet

Buyer, spice, date sent, call due and what they said.

  3. A sourcing and quality page

States origin, cleaning and checks in plain words.

  4. A wholesaler target list

By town, with the products each carries.

How the result is measured

  • Samples sent
  • Sample follow-up completed
  • Trial orders won
  • Wholesaler and retailer accounts opened
  • Repeat orders
  • Export enquiries

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Your brief

You tell us what you need in a few short steps: your business, what you want, where enquiries come from and how they are handled.

  2. After the brief

A conversation and a written scope

We read it, then talk with whoever handles your enquiries. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come in writing, and nothing starts before you have read them.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

The numbers this work is meant to move, such as enquiries, quotations, orders, visits or renewals, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

The fix we agreed to start with is put in place and measured against the baseline, whether that is a reply, a follow-up, a page, a listing or the handover between marketing and sales.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

What we need from you

What to have ready before we talk.

None of it has to be tidy. We read what you have.

  • Your list of spices and blends with pack sizes
  • Where you source each spice
  • Lab reports and licences you hold
  • Current wholesalers and what they buy
  • Photographs of cleaning, grinding and packing

Export and new regions

Selling spice manufacturing beyond your home market.

Where you sell decides standards, documents, payment terms and freight. We work from Bengaluru and have no overseas office, so for a new region we start from your own enquiries, your existing buyers and the directories you already use.

  1. Importers and ethnic-food distributors

Overseas spice buyers include importers and distributors serving Indian communities. They ask for samples, lab reports and labelling in their market's format.

  2. Origin and testing

Buyers abroad look closely at test results and origin. Check destination rules with your adviser before quoting.

FAQ

Questions about selling spice manufacturing.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

How many samples should I send?
Send fewer, to buyers you have qualified, and follow up each one. Ten sample calls beat fifty parcels.
Can I say my spice is pure or natural?
Only if you can back it, and the wording on a pack is regulated. Check it with your adviser before it goes on a page.
Do I need a brand name for bulk sales?
Not for bulk, though a name helps buyers remember you. Retail sales depend on it.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on what is being changed and how many of the people who matter see it. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever the work touches, such as your profiles, your website or your accounts, and time with the people who can answer our questions.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.

Engagement options

Ways to work with us.

Pick the size of commitment that fits. Every option starts with your brief and a conversation.

  1. Option 1

    The conversation on its own

A call after you send your brief. It says honestly whether you need outside help, and many fixes are ones your own team can make.

  2. Option 2

    One fix, scoped

Start with the fix that matters most, such as reply time or follow-up. The fee is in writing before anything starts.

  3. Option 3

    An ongoing programme

We run the work, report against the baseline, and you renew on the numbers. The term and the reporting are agreed in writing first.

  4. Option 4

Guidance for your own team or agency

We plan, brief and check the work of your in-house team or current agency, instead of replacing them.
