Manufacturing · Furniture & Wood Products

The builder phoned once for a rate on three hundred doors and we were not the ones who answered.

A door is sold by the hundred to builders and by the piece to homeowners, and they are not the same business. The builder asks for a rate per door, a frame size and a delivery schedule per floor. The homeowner asks what it looks like and whether termites will get it.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

Furniture makers review wooden panels and cabinet assemblies

In one paragraph

Wooden door manufacturing covers flush doors, panel doors, solid timber doors, frames and shutters made for homes, apartments and commercial buildings. GullySales works on how door makers are found by builders, contractors and dealers, and how a rate enquiry for a project becomes a supply order.

A maker supplying both through dealers, contractors and walk-ins needs a way to answer each in the form they use.

Who it is for

This is written for you if wooden doors is what you make or sell.

  • Flush door and shutter makers supplying builders and contractors
  • Solid timber and panel door workshops serving architects and homeowners
  • Frame and door-set manufacturers selling through hardware and timber dealers
  • Makers of laminated, veneered and moulded skin doors
  • Units that supply apartment projects with doors, frames and fittings together

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • A maker who cannot hold dimensions across a batch. A builder checking three hundred doors will find the ones that do not fit.
  • A unit whose timber source or treatment is not something you can show a buyer when asked.

How buyers choose

What decides the sale of wooden doors.

  1. The schedule of doors

A builder or architect sends a door schedule: count by size, type, frame section and floor. The quotation is built on that and compared with others.

  2. Sample door and finish approval

Before a project order, they ask for a sample door with the finish, the lipping, the frame and often the hardware, and approve it on site.

  3. Material and treatment

The buyer asks about the core, the skin, the timber species and what protection it has against moisture and termites. They want a stated answer, not a promise.

  4. Dealer recommendation for standard sizes

For retail and small projects, a timber or hardware dealer decides which brand of door is stocked and suggested.

Where orders are lost

What usually goes wrong when you sell wooden doors.

In the words owners use on the first call.

  • “The builder bought on rate and we found out afterwards”

Project doors are priced down to a rupee per piece. If the quotation went out late or without the sizes confirmed, the order was gone before you rang.

  • “Dealers stock us but never push us”

A dealer has three brands of door on the shelf. Without a sample, a price sheet and a reason to recommend yours, it sits at the back.

  • “Homeowners ask for a photo and we send a blurry one”

A door is a visible part of a house. Photographs taken indoors in poor light make a good door look ordinary.

  • “Delivery goes in lots and the paperwork goes missing”

A project is delivered floor by floor. Without a schedule agreed in writing, disputes about count and condition arise at the end.

The scope

The work we would propose for wooden doors.

Measured on qualified enquiries, quotation requests, follow-up on each quotation, orders won and, where you sell through dealers or shelves, repeat orders by channel. Anything here that needs a platform, directory or tool we have not used with you is confirmed with you before it goes in the scope.

What we do

What you get for wooden doors.

Each deliverable and what it is there to change.

  1. A door and frame specification sheet

Core, skin, thickness, frame section and sizes in one table. It lets the architect specify you without a call.

  2. A project quotation template

Built against a door schedule, with delivery by lot. It makes a rate look like a proposal.

  3. A dealer sample kit and price list

Small finish samples and a price sheet by size. It gives the counter something to show.

  4. A builder follow-up sequence

Calls and messages tied to the schedule date and the sample approval, so a quotation does not stand alone.

  5. Delivered-project photographs

Doors fitted in rooms, in daylight, by type. Homeowners and architects choose from pictures.

How the result is measured

  • Door schedules received
  • Quotations sent and followed up
  • Sample doors approved
  • Project orders won
  • Dealers actively ordering
  • Repeat orders from builders

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Your brief

You tell us what you need in a few short steps: your business, what you want, where enquiries come from and how they are handled.

  2. After the brief

A conversation and a written scope

We read it, then talk with whoever handles your enquiries. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come in writing, and nothing starts before you have read them.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

The numbers this work is meant to move, such as enquiries, quotations, orders, visits or renewals, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

The fix we agreed to start with is put in place and measured against the baseline, whether that is a reply, a follow-up, a page, a listing or the handover between marketing and sales.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

What we need from you

What to have ready before we talk.

None of it has to be tidy. We read what you have.

  • Your current door range with sizes and finishes
  • Last five project quotations and which were won
  • A list of builders, contractors and dealers you supply
  • Photographs of doors fitted on site
  • Your timber source and treatment details you are willing to state

Export and new regions

Selling wooden doors beyond your home market.

Where you sell decides standards, documents, payment terms and freight. We work from Bengaluru and have no overseas office, so for a new region we start from your own enquiries, your existing buyers and the directories you already use.

  1. Who imports Indian wooden doors

Doors ship to the Gulf, parts of Africa and island markets through importers and building material distributors. Your existing export enquiries tell us which of these already ask.

  2. Timber questions

Overseas buyers ask which wood, where it came from and what documents come with the shipment. Your adviser or forwarder will confirm what applies to your product and the buyer's country.

  3. Packing a door for a container

Doors can warp or scratch in transit. Buyers ask how each is wrapped, how many fit in a container and who pays for damage.

FAQ

Questions about selling wooden doors.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

How do I get builders to send me their door schedule?
Be on their list and reply fast. A builder sends the schedule to makers who answered the last one, so a short reply with a rate and a sample date counts for more than a brochure.
Should I sell doors through dealers or direct?
Often both, and the two need different pricing and different people. The question is whether your dealer's margin leaves room to compete with your own project price. We would look at your actual invoices before suggesting a split.
Do homeowners search for door makers online?
They search for the door type and the city, and then ask an architect or carpenter. A page that names the type and shows photographs gets you into that conversation.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on what is being changed and how many of the people who matter see it. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever the work touches, such as your profiles, your website or your accounts, and time with the people who can answer our questions.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.

  4. Option 4

Guidance for your own team or agency

We plan, brief and check the work of your in-house team or current agency, instead of replacing them.
