Medical device manufacturers · Sales training

Train the sales team to answer a compliance question without guessing.

Sales training for a medical device manufacturer prepares the sales and distributor teams to answer technical, regulatory and service questions accurately in a hospital meeting. A wrong answer here can end a deal and raise compliance concerns. GullySales runs this training around your actual device documentation.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What sales training means

Sales training teaches a sales team a skill it does not yet have, such as handling a specific objection or running a proper site visit, usually through a structured session. GullySales runs these sessions around real objections and calls from your business rather than generic sales theory.

For medical device manufacturers

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “A wrong regulatory answer costs more than a lost sale”

A sales representative guessing at a certification detail in front of a hospital audit team risks the manufacturer's credibility, not just that single order.

  • “Objection handling here often centres on service, not price”

Hospitals frequently raise concerns about spare parts availability and service response time, and the sales team needs a confident, honest answer ready.

  • “Distributor sales teams need the same training as your own”

A distributor representing your device poorly in a hospital meeting reflects directly on your brand, making distributor training as important as internal training.

What we do

What we deliver for medical device manufacturers.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. Compliance question rehearsal

Role-play sessions preparing your sales team to answer certification and regulatory questions accurately in front of a hospital audit team.

Result: A representative answers a compliance question without guessing.

  2. Service objection scripts

Prepared, honest answers to common concerns about spare parts availability and service response time.

Result: A hospital's service concern gets a confident, accurate answer.

  3. Distributor training alongside your own team

The same technical and service training given to your internal team extended to distributor representatives.

Result: A distributor represents your device as accurately as your own staff would.

  4. Documentation-based training materials

Training built directly from your own device documentation and certificates, not a generic sales course.

Result: What the team says in a hospital meeting matches what is certified.

How the result is measured

  • Skill assessment scores
  • Objection handling improvement
  • Conversion rate after training

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

Situations to practise

Six hospital and distributor conversations a device maker's team should practise, and what good looks like.

A biomedical engineer asks whether the device is licensed
State the licence and device class shown on the actual document. Practise showing the paper, and never claim an approval you do not hold.
The purchase committee asks for installed base and references
Name only those who have agreed to be named. Offer a visit or a user call. Practise saying we have no reference here yet when that is the truth.
The buyer worries that your service engineer is in another city
Describe the service set-up as it really is: where the engineer sits, what spares you stock, how a call is logged. Practise saying what you can and cannot promise.
A distributor quotes below your list price
Talk through price floor and territory, and put the agreement in writing. Practise this as a calm business conversation, not an accusation.
A clinician asks about use beyond the labelled indication
Say that is for the clinical team and your regulatory person, and stay within the approved intended use. Practise a polite hand-off line.
A demo request arrives
Ask who will attend, what they want to test, and room and power needs. Practise a demo checklist so the visit answers the buyer's actual question.

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • You want a guaranteed Google ranking or a guaranteed number of leads. Nobody honest can promise either.
  • You need enquiries by next week and have nobody to answer them.
  • You want posts and reach reported, not enquiries and orders.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Your brief

You tell us what you need in a few short steps: your business, what you want, where enquiries come from and how they are handled.

  2. After the brief

A conversation and a written scope

We read it, then talk with whoever handles your enquiries. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come in writing, and nothing starts before you have read them.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

Enquiries by source, reply time, conversion and cost per order, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

The fix we agreed to start with is put in place and measured against the baseline, whether that is reply time, a follow-up sequence, the page buyers land on or the handover between marketing and sales.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

How the sales training work runs

  1. 1

    Assess current skill levels

We review the team's current strengths and gaps, by observing calls and talking to managers.

  2. 2

    Build the curriculum

Content is developed around your product, customers and sales cycle.

  3. 3

    Schedule and deliver

Sessions run on a set calendar, with practice built into each one.

  4. 4

    Check understanding

Short knowledge checks confirm what has actually stuck.

  5. 5

    Review and refresh

The curriculum is revisited periodically and refresher sessions are run for the wider team.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Should distributors be included in this training?
Yes, ideally, since they are often the ones in the room with the hospital and need the same accurate answers your own team would give.
How will we know the team has stopped guessing in front of a hospital?
One focused session and role-play on the certification and spare-parts questions is enough for a representative to start answering straight, and the rest comes from repetition in real visits. Sit in on a few visits and listen for the difference.
Who should approve what sales staff say about intended use?
Your regulatory affairs person or quality head. Give the sales team a short list of approved statements about intended use, approvals and claims, and practise staying inside it. Anything outside gets a polite, I will check and come back.
Can we use hospital complaints as training material?
Yes, with names removed. Service and complaint calls show what hospitals really ask, and they test whether the team stays factual when someone is unhappy. Adverse-event reports belong with your quality team and follow your own procedure.
Should our product pages state the device's risk class?
Yes. Under the Medical Devices Rules, 2017, each device falls in class A, B, C or D, and a biomedical engineer checks that class against your licence. Showing both on the page saves a round of emails before the demo.
Can we name the hospitals that already use our device?
Only with each hospital's written permission, and stated as a fact rather than an endorsement. Many hospitals refuse, so we plan the page to work without names. An installation count by city or specialty is a safer form of proof when you can verify it.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
