Mutual fund distributors · Email marketing

Write to the folio, not to a mailing list.

Email in this practice is a service channel first: the review reminder, the statement note, the message in a falling week. GullySales keeps that separate from anything promotional, records consent properly, and gets the spouse and the adult children onto the list where they are permitted to be.

A post room: a wall rack of pigeonholes with sorted letters and strapped bundles, a loaded mail trolley wheeled up in front of it, and on the bench a franking machine with one envelope under the press arm, franked and cleared

What email marketing means

Email marketing is sending planned messages to a list of past and prospective customers who have agreed to hear from you. It suits offers, updates and staying in touch with someone who is not ready to buy yet. GullySales writes and schedules these emails and tracks who opens, clicks and enquires.

For mutual fund distributors

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • A message about somebody's own folio is not a campaign

Service mail and promotional mail sit under different expectations, and mixing them into one send is how a practice gets into difficulty.

  • The spouse is not on the list and decides anyway

She sat through the first meeting and then hears nothing for three years. Adding her, with permission, changes what happens at the next one.

  • Statement season is a reason to write that needs no excuse

The annual statement arrives and nobody understands it. A covering note from you is the most welcome mail you will send all year.

  • The adult child has already opened an app

The son with a first salary is the client you lose by never writing to him. His parents will introduce him, but only if you ask.

What we do

What we deliver for mutual fund distributors.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A client list cleaned and consented

Addresses verified, duplicates removed and consent recorded per person, with spouses and adult children added where the investor has agreed to it.

Result: You know who you may write to and why.

  2. A review reminder tied to the calendar

Mail going out ahead of each investor's review date, carrying what the meeting will cover and two times to choose between.

Result: Reviews get booked instead of drifting.

  3. A covering note for statement season

A plain explanation of what the annual statement shows and what to check on it, sent when the statements land rather than weeks afterwards.

Result: An unread statement turns into a conversation.

  4. A falling-week mail already approved

Written, reviewed and held ready with the disclaimer in place, so it can go out on the morning of a sharp fall.

Result: You reach everybody before they reach for the app.

  5. Service and promotional mail kept apart

A written rule on what belongs in each and which list each may use, settled with your compliance adviser rather than decided send by send.

Result: Your service mail keeps arriving.

  6. A monthly count of reviews booked from mail

How many meetings and calls came from each send, and how many addresses bounced or opted out, against the figures from the first week.

Result: You can see which mails deserve the time.

How the result is measured

  • Open rate
  • Click rate
  • Enquiries from email

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, then reported every month against it.

Who it is for

This is written for these mutual fund distributors.

  • Individual AMFI-registered mutual fund distributors
  • Distributor firms with a small team of relationship managers
  • Distributors who also sell insurance and fixed deposits
  • Second-generation family distribution practices
  • Distributors serving NRIs and their families in India
  • Distributors focused on business owners and treasury money
  • Sub-brokers and platform-linked distributors
  • New distributors in their first years after NISM certification

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • You want a guaranteed Google ranking or a guaranteed number of leads. Nobody honest can promise either.
  • You need enquiries by next week and have nobody to answer them.
  • You want posts and reach reported, not enquiries and orders.

How it works

From your first message to the first monthly report.

No open-ended retainer. Each step has a point in time and something you receive.

  1. 01 · Day 1

    Free audit call

45 minutes with whoever handles your enquiries: how they arrive, how fast they are answered, where they are lost.

  2. 02 · Within a few working days

    Written, scored report

Six areas scored, fixes ranked by return and cost. If you want our help, the scope and fee come with it, in writing.

  3. 03 · Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

Enquiries by source, reply time, conversion and cost per order, written down so every later month has an honest comparison.

  4. 04 · Month 1

    The first fix goes live

Usually the cheapest one on the report: reply time, a follow-up sequence or the marketing-to-sales handover.

  5. 05 · Every month

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words.

  6. 06 · Month 3 to 6

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. No twelve-month lock.

How the work runs for mutual fund distributors

  1. 1

    Assess

We look at your book, SIP stops, review frequency, referral sources, reply time and what you currently publish.

  2. 2

    Set the review calendar

A schedule and CRM so every investor is reviewed on time, and a routine for market falls.

  3. 3

    Write the explanations

Plain, compliant content on fund categories, risk and goals, checked for disclaimer and nomenclature before it goes out.

  4. 4

    Bring investors in

Referral routines with investors and CAs, local search, and awareness sessions where the audience already trusts the host.

  5. 5

    Keep them invested

Money-event tracking, goal reviews and a steady, calm voice, so SIPs last and families add accounts.

Proof

What happened when owners fixed this.

Real clients, the work we did, and the result as it was recorded. Where no number was recorded, none is claimed.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every monthly report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No lock-in, no guarantees we cannot keep

Three to six months at a time. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.

#257, 3rd floor, Sri Nanjundeshwara Complex, Nagarbhavi 8th Block, Outer Ring Road. How we work.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Can we email somebody who filled in a form on our site?
To answer their enquiry, yes. To add them to a regular mailing, ask first and record the answer. The distinction between replying and marketing is the one that matters, and your compliance adviser can confirm how it should be recorded.
Do investors even read email now?
The ones with folios do, because that is where their statements arrive. WhatsApp suits a short reminder and email suits anything carrying a document. Use both and stop arguing about which one wins.
Can a mutual fund distributor advertise on social media?
Yes, within SEBI and AMFI rules. Content must carry the standard market-risk disclaimer, avoid promising returns, and present you as a mutual fund distributor, not an investment adviser. We check each post against those rules and leave out anything that reads like a personal recommendation.
Can we post fund returns and top fund lists?
We avoid it. Selective past performance and ranking lists invite exactly the complaints regulators watch for, and they attract investors chasing last year's winner. Education on categories and risk builds a steadier book.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped in the free audit and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
Three to six months at a time. There is no twelve-month lock, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
Fixes to reply time, follow-up and your Google Business Profile usually show in weeks, because the enquiries already exist. Ads show in days once follow-up is ready. SEO and content take months. The audit tells you which applies to you.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you meet on the audit call. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
For the audit, last month's enquiries in any format and 45 minutes with whoever handles them. After that, access to the accounts the work touches, such as the website, Google Business Profile or CRM, and time for the monthly review.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Every month is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. Terms run three to six months at a time, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
