Plumbing and sanitaryware distributors · Lead generation

An enquiry here is a call to somebody's own number, and it goes when he does.

Lead generation for a plumbing and sanitaryware distributor means finding the retailers, contractors and builders who are not yet buying from you, and catching the enquiries that already reach you by call, WhatsApp, IndiaMART and the brand. GullySales records every source in one place and sets who replies.

A 90-minute audit call and a written, scored report. Turnaround, reporting and term are agreed in writing after the audit.

What lead generation means

Lead generation is the combined work of every channel that brings in a new enquiry, whether from search, adverts, referrals or a stall at an exhibition. GullySales runs these channels together and reports the number of enquiries each one produced, not the activity behind it.

For plumbing and sanitaryware distributors

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “Enquiries from the brand land on whoever picked up”

The area officer gives your number to a family or a builder and the call goes to a salesman on route. Nobody else sees it, and the brand never hears what happened.

  • “IndiaMART enquiries go to four distributors at once”

The buyer sent the same quantity list to several. A reply that carries a rate and a delivery date stands out beside the others, and the rest are forgotten.

  • “The shop that said not now is not written down”

A salesman visits a new retailer, hears 'come after Diwali' and moves on. Without a note and a date, nobody comes back.

  • “New projects are visible before they buy”

Site boards and a builder's launch announcement show where bathrooms will be fitted next. The list of those sites is kept, if at all, in one man's memory.

What we do

What we deliver for plumbing and sanitaryware distributors.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. One enquiry sheet for every source

A sheet the order desk and salesmen both fill: source, name, product, quantity, area, who replied and when.

Result: Enquiries stop depending on one person's phone.

  2. A list of shops in your area not yet buying

Hardware, plumbing and sanitary shops drawn from Maps, directories and route knowledge, marked against your sales register.

Result: The salesmen call on shops chosen from a list, not from habit.

  3. A project watch list for builders and contractors

Sites in your supply area with the builder, the stage and the person who buys, kept and dated.

Result: You ring before the bathroom fittings are bought.

  4. A reply routine for IndiaMART and directory enquiries

Who answers, the first message with rate and delivery, and a second call if there is no answer.

Result: Directory enquiries are answered by a person with a reply to give.

  5. A first-order note for new retailers

Brands carried, the rate sheet, credit terms in writing, delivery arrangement and a contact name, sent after the first visit.

Result: A shop can say yes to a first order without ringing back for details.

  6. Sources counted against the baseline

Enquiries by source, time to first reply and orders from each source, set against the baseline taken before work started.

Result: You know which source brings orders and which only brings calls.

How the result is measured

  • Enquiries generated
  • Cost per enquiry
  • Enquiries by source

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

Where enquiries come from

The ways an enquiry reaches a plumbing and sanitaryware distributor, and what to record for each.

A retailer rings the order desk
Write down the shop, the area and what was asked for, including what you could not supply. That list is who to call when the stock arrives.
The brand passes on an enquiry
Ask the brand's area officer which number the enquiries go to. Reply with the stock position and a visit date, record the source as the brand, and tell the officer what came of it.
IndiaMART or JustDial enquiry
Record the platform, the item and the quantity. Reply with rate, delivery and a named contact in the first message, and ring if there is no answer, because the buyer has asked others.
A builder's quantity list
Record the project, the tower or floor, the approved makes and the date the material is needed. Send a written quote and put a callback date against it.
A walk-in at the counter or showroom
Ask how they found the shop and take a name and number before the bill is made. A visitor who buys nothing today is the sheet's most useful entry.
A route visit that ends in not now
Note the shop, who was met, the reason given and the date to go back. The new retailer list improves only when the shops that said no are kept on it.

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • You want a guaranteed Google ranking or a guaranteed number of leads. Nobody honest can promise either.
  • You need enquiries by next week and have nobody to answer them.
  • You want posts and reach reported, not enquiries and orders.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Free audit call

90 minutes with whoever handles your enquiries: how they arrive, how fast they are answered, where they are lost.

  2. After the call

    Written, scored report

Six areas scored, fixes ranked by return and cost. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come with it, in writing.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

Enquiries by source, reply time, conversion and cost per order, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

Usually the cheapest one on the report: reply time, a follow-up sequence or the marketing-to-sales handover.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

How the work runs for plumbing and sanitaryware distributors

  1. 1

    Assess

We look at how orders and enquiries arrive, who answers them, what the sales register shows about each retailer, and what happens to a builder's quotation after it is sent.

  2. 2

    Register the trade

The retailers, plumbers and projects go into one record, cleaned of duplicate spellings and tagged by route and salesman.

  3. 3

    Answer and quote

A reply rota for the order desk, a quotation format that says what is included, and a callback date on every quote.

  4. 4

    Show up where buyers look

The Maps listing, the brand locators, JustDial and IndiaMART set right, and a website that shows the brands and the towns you serve.

  5. 5

    Keep the route

Calls to lapsed retailers, thanks to the plumbers who send work, and a review sheet the owner uses on each route.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Should we buy leads from a portal that sells distributor enquiries?
Be careful. The same enquiry is often sold to several distributors, and a bought name is not a buyer in your supply area. Try one with a small commitment, record the source, and count the orders. If nothing converts, the portal has told you.
The same plumber appears from IndiaMART, a call and WhatsApp. How do we avoid counting him three times?
Match on the mobile number and enter it once, with the first source marked as the origin and the later contacts added as notes. Counting him three times makes every source look better than it is and hides which one found him.
What counts as a qualified enquiry for a distributor?
A buyer in your supply area who wants an item you carry, a person who can place or approve the order, and a date by which the material is needed. A price-only call from outside the area is a contact, not a lead.
How do we count a retailer who says come back after Diwali?
Enter him with the source as the route visit and a follow-up date. He is a lead with a stated time, not a lost one. If he is still not buying after the date, record the reason and move him down the list.
The brand brings the demand and fixes the rates. What is there for a distributor to market?
Your name. The brand decides what is sold, but a retailer chooses between distributors on stock, reply, delivery and how claims are handled. Those are yours to improve and to show, and they are what the retailer remembers when two of you hold the same range.
Does a distributor need a website?
Yes, a plain one. A retailer or builder checks the brands, the towns you deliver to and a working number before opening an account. It does not need an online shop, and a quote request that reaches a named person does more.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped in the free audit and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after the audit, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
Fixes to reply time, follow-up and your Google Business Profile are the quickest to show, because the enquiries already exist. Ads can follow soon after follow-up is in place. SEO and content take longer. How long each takes depends on your business, and the audit tells you which applies to you. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you meet on the audit call. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
