Plumbing and sanitaryware distributors · Local SEO

A plumber looks on Maps for a counter that is open at seven, and yours says ten.

Local SEO for a plumbing and sanitaryware distributor is a Google Maps listing that tells a plumber, a retailer and a family which counter is open, what it stocks and whether it delivers. GullySales sets the categories, hours, photographs and brand list, and checks that every directory carries the same name and number.

A 90-minute audit call and a written, scored report. Turnaround, reporting and term are agreed in writing after the audit.

What local SEO means

Local SEO is the work of making your business show up for searches that name your town or locality, such as a service plus an area name. GullySales sets up locality pages, local citations and map listings so nearby customers find you before a competitor across town.

For plumbing and sanitaryware distributors

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “Counter hours are what the plumber is searching”

A site starts early and the part is needed before the first cut. A listing that opens at ten sends him to the counter that opens at eight.

  • “A godown is not a shop to Google”

If buyers do not visit the stockyard, the listing may have to be set up as a service-area business with the address hidden. Google's current guidelines decide which, and a wrong choice gets the listing suspended.

  • “Three searchers share one listing”

A plumber wants the counter, a new retailer wants a supplier, a family wants a bathroom to look at. One set of categories and photographs has to speak to all three.

  • “The brand's dealer locator holds an old number”

Brands copy dealer details into their own locators once and rarely update them. The phone nobody answers is the one the household enquiry rings.

What we do

What we deliver for plumbing and sanitaryware distributors.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. Categories set for the trade

A primary category for the counter business and a secondary one for the bathroom display, chosen from Google's current list, with product families added.

Result: The listing appears for the right searches and the wrong ones fall away.

  2. Counter hours and delivery cut-off

Early opening for the trade counter, showroom hours, the weekly closing day and the time after which dispatch moves to the next day.

Result: Nobody is sent to a locked shutter.

  3. Photographs of stock, counter and display

Racks of pipes and fittings, the counter in use, the bathroom displays lit, and the vehicle that delivers.

Result: A new retailer can see a real operation before he rings.

  4. Brand locator and directory corrections

Each brand's dealer locator, JustDial and IndiaMART checked and corrected to the same name, address and order desk number.

Result: Enquiries routed through those listings reach a phone that is answered.

  5. Questions and posts handled by staff

Stock and brand questions on the profile answered by a named person, with posts when new ranges arrive.

Result: The listing stops carrying wrong answers.

  6. Maps calls and direction requests counted

Calls, messages and direction requests recorded beside the baseline, with the counter asking each new face how they found the shop.

Result: You can see what Maps brings to the counter and to the showroom.

How the result is measured

  • Map pack ranking
  • Local search visibility
  • Enquiries by locality

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

What Google weighs here

What decides whether a plumber or a retailer nearby sees your counter before the next one.

Relevance: the category and the products
Choose the category that matches most of your sales and add the bathroom display only if visitors can see it. List product families, such as CPVC fittings and wash basins, not every item code.
Distance, which you cannot move
Google ranks counters by how far the searcher is. You cannot move the shop, but you can give a retailer in the next town a reason to look past the nearest one: stock, delivery and a stated delivery area.
Prominence: who else points to you
Dealer locators of the brands you hold, JustDial, IndiaMART and builders' supplier lists all count. Ask each brand's area officer to confirm that your entry is correct and current.
Name, address and phone, identical everywhere
One spelling of the firm's name, one address, one number the order desk answers. A distributor listed as three different names on three directories splits what Google knows about it.
Reviews from the buyers who matter
A review from a plumber or a retailer reads like a reference to the next one. Ask after a delivery that went well, and check Google's current rules on how reviews may be requested.
Delivery area, said once
Name the towns you deliver to in the description and the service area, where Google allows it. A sub-dealer two towns away should not have to ring to find out whether you reach him.

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • You want a guaranteed Google ranking or a guaranteed number of leads. Nobody honest can promise either.
  • You need enquiries by next week and have nobody to answer them.
  • You want posts and reach reported, not enquiries and orders.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Free audit call

90 minutes with whoever handles your enquiries: how they arrive, how fast they are answered, where they are lost.

  2. After the call

    Written, scored report

Six areas scored, fixes ranked by return and cost. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come with it, in writing.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

Enquiries by source, reply time, conversion and cost per order, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

Usually the cheapest one on the report: reply time, a follow-up sequence or the marketing-to-sales handover.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

How the work runs for plumbing and sanitaryware distributors

  1. 1

    Assess

We look at how orders and enquiries arrive, who answers them, what the sales register shows about each retailer, and what happens to a builder's quotation after it is sent.

  2. 2

    Register the trade

The retailers, plumbers and projects go into one record, cleaned of duplicate spellings and tagged by route and salesman.

  3. 3

    Answer and quote

A reply rota for the order desk, a quotation format that says what is included, and a callback date on every quote.

  4. 4

    Show up where buyers look

The Maps listing, the brand locators, JustDial and IndiaMART set right, and a website that shows the brands and the towns you serve.

  5. 5

    Keep the route

Calls to lapsed retailers, thanks to the plumbers who send work, and a review sheet the owner uses on each route.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Our godown is on the outskirts and the counter is in town. Which address goes on Maps?
The one customers visit. If buyers come to the counter, list that. If they never see the godown, do not list it as a shop. A stockyard that takes no visitors may need a service-area listing, so read Google's current guidelines before choosing.
We share a building with a sister firm. Can both have listings?
Only if each is a separate business with its own signage, staff and a phone answered under its own name. Two listings for one counter get flagged. If the sister firm sells different goods, give each its own category and its own number.
A competitor has listed a fake branch near us. What can we do?
Report it through Google's own tools, with evidence that no such premises exist, and keep your own listing accurate. Replying with a fake of your own risks the suspension of your real listing, which costs more than the competitor's branch ever will.
We have counters in two towns. One listing or two?
Two, one for each place where a customer can walk in and be served, each with its own address, hours and local number. A single listing for both confuses searchers and ranks neither well. Keep the brand and range list the same on both.
The brand brings the demand and fixes the rates. What is there for a distributor to market?
Your name. The brand decides what is sold, but a retailer chooses between distributors on stock, reply, delivery and how claims are handled. Those are yours to improve and to show, and they are what the retailer remembers when two of you hold the same range.
Does a distributor need a website?
Yes, a plain one. A retailer or builder checks the brands, the towns you deliver to and a working number before opening an account. It does not need an online shop, and a quote request that reaches a named person does more.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped in the free audit and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after the audit, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
Fixes to reply time, follow-up and your Google Business Profile are the quickest to show, because the enquiries already exist. Ads can follow soon after follow-up is in place. SEO and content take longer. How long each takes depends on your business, and the audit tells you which applies to you. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you meet on the audit call. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
