Patent attorneys · WhatsApp marketing

Use WhatsApp to answer first questions and send status, and keep the invention off it.

WhatsApp for a patent practice means the number inventors use to ask a first question and the way the office replies. GullySales works on a short set of replies, a handover to the intake sheet and a rule on what is never sent in a chat.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What WhatsApp marketing means

WhatsApp marketing is sending updates, offers and reminders to customers on the app most Indian buyers already check daily. GullySales sets up business WhatsApp, writes the message templates and keeps the list consented and current.

For patent attorneys

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “The first message is a one-line question”

An inventor writes asking if their idea can be patented. The reply either moves them to the intake sheet or leaves them waiting, and the practice that replies with a clear next step is remembered.

  • “Chat is not a place for the invention”

A student may paste a full description or a drawing into the chat. The practice should ask for it through a secure route set up by the office, and say so in the first reply.

  • “Status updates suit chat, advice does not”

A note that a filing has been made, or a report received, is fine in a message. Advice on patentability needs a call or a written opinion, and a chat is a poor record of it.

What we do

What we deliver for patent attorneys.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A set of first replies

Short written replies for a field enquiry, a price question and a disclosure question, each moving the person to the intake sheet.

Result: Whoever answers sends the same clear next step.

  2. A confidentiality line

A sentence in the first reply asking the inventor not to send technical detail until the office has set up a route for it.

Result: Technical detail does not arrive in an open chat.

  3. A status message routine

Short messages telling a client a filing was made or a report received, with the attorney's name.

Result: Clients hear about each stage from the office.

  4. Linking chats to the record

Every chat enquiry is logged against the CRM with its source and field.

Result: The register shows the enquiries that began on WhatsApp.

  5. A business profile

The business number set up with the practice name, a short description and the fields covered.

Result: Inventors see a practice, not an unknown number.

How the result is measured

  • Messages delivered
  • Reply rate
  • Enquiries from WhatsApp

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

How it works

How the whatsapp marketing work runs

The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.

  1. 1

    Understand current WhatsApp use

We review how customers currently message you and how consistently, if at all, it is answered.

  2. 2

    Audit common questions

We identify the questions that come up repeatedly, which decide what should be automated first.

  3. 3

    Set up automation and templates

An automated first response and quick reply templates are built for the most common needs.

  4. 4

    Connect to the CRM

Conversations are linked to customer records so context carries over between team members.

  5. 5

    Measure and optimise

We track response time and conversion, refining automated responses based on what customers actually ask.

Where this fits

Three pieces of sales work, in this order.

This work sits inside sales process design, at stage 0, foundation. The audit comes before it, and sales management keeps it running.

  1. Step 1

    Sales audit

Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.

Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.

  2. Step 2 · you are here

    Sales process design

One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.

Start here if every salesperson sells differently.

  3. Step 3

    Sales management

A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

Start here if the team has targets and no routine.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Can we send promotional messages to past clients?
Send marketing messages only to people who agreed to receive them, and check the platform's current rules and your professional body's guidance on advertising. Status messages about their own case are a different matter.
Should attorneys use their own phones?
A business number shared by the team keeps records with the practice, not with one person. If attorneys use their own phones, agree what is recorded and where.
Do we reply at night?
Set the hours in the profile and say them in the first reply. Inventors accept a reply the next working day if they are told so.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
