Solar installation companies · WhatsApp marketing

Run the survey, the quote and the net meter chase from the chat the buyer already uses.

WhatsApp marketing for a solar installer is using the Business app or platform to answer enquiries, send quotes and keep customers informed through the paperwork. GullySales works on setting up the number, the catalogue and the message flow, within the rules of the platform.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What WhatsApp marketing means

WhatsApp marketing is sending updates, offers and reminders to customers on the app most Indian buyers already check daily. GullySales sets up business WhatsApp, writes the message templates and keeps the list consented and current.

For solar installation companies

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “The enquiry arrives as a message, not a form”

A homeowner taps the number on the Maps listing and sends a photograph of the bill. If the reply comes a day later or asks them to call the office, the next installer on the list has already asked about their roof.

  • “A quote sent as a loose PDF gets lost”

In a chat that scrolls, a bare attachment disappears under later messages. A short cover note naming the system, the savings and the next step keeps the quote readable and makes forwarding to the family easy.

  • “The paperwork stage is where trust is made”

Customers wait weeks for approval and the subsidy credit, and silence reads as neglect. A message at each stage, naming what has been filed and what is awaited, turns an anxious wait into a visible process.

  • “Broadcasting to everyone burns the number”

Sending the same promotion to every contact irritates people who never asked and risks the number being reported. Messages work when they go to people who agreed to receive them and who care about the topic.

What we do

What we deliver for solar installation companies.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A business profile with catalogue and quick replies

A completed profile with your address, hours, services and saved replies for the questions asked again and again, set up on the Business app or platform.

Result: A new enquirer gets a clear first answer.

  2. Enquiry reply flow

The questions asked first, covering whose roof it is, the last bill and the timeline, and who on the team takes the survey booking.

Result: Serious buyers are separated from casual ones.

  3. Quote cover note template

A short note sent with each quote stating the system, expected generation, subsidy position and what happens next.

Result: The quote is understood without a phone call.

  4. Status updates through the paperwork

Message templates for survey done, application filed, approval received, installation date and net meter fitted.

Result: The customer always knows the next step.

  5. Permission list and message rules

Records of who agreed to receive updates, how to opt out, and what your team may and may not send. Check the platform's current rules before any campaign.

Result: Messages reach only people who agreed to them.

  6. Reminders for cleaning and maintenance

Messages to past customers about panel cleaning and checks, sent only to those who have agreed to hear from you.

Result: Installed customers hear from you for a good reason.

How the result is measured

  • Messages delivered
  • Reply rate
  • Enquiries from WhatsApp

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

What to capture or send

Send and record these so the chat carries the sale from survey to switch-on.

Photo of the electricity bill
Ask for it in the first message. It gives load and tariff and lets the surveyor arrive with a rough size already worked out.
Survey slot confirmation
Name, address, time and the surveyor's first name, sent the day before. A buyer who expects a named person lets them in.
Quote as a file with a short summary
A summary line above the PDF with system size and the options. A loose PDF is lost in the thread within days.
Paperwork stage update
A short message when a DISCOM or subsidy step moves, or stalls. Silence at this stage is what customers complain about.
Opt-in for later messages
Record that the buyer agreed to messages beyond this job. Without it, the old enquiry list stays closed to broadcasts.

Who it is for

This is written for these solar installation companies.

  • Residential rooftop installers working with the PM Surya Ghar scheme
  • Housing society and apartment rooftop specialists
  • Commercial and industrial (C&I) rooftop EPC companies
  • Ground-mounted and open access solar developers
  • Solar water heater and solar pump dealers
  • Off-grid and hybrid systems with battery storage
  • Brand-authorised solar dealers and franchisees
  • Operations and maintenance and panel cleaning services

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • You have not asked past enquirers for permission, and sending offers to an old list gets the number blocked
  • The person who answers chats cannot give a status on a paperwork stage, so buyers would ask and learn nothing
  • You use personal phones for chats, and the history leaves with the person when they move on

How it works

How the whatsapp marketing work runs

The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.

  1. 1

Read the chats you already have

We read how customers write to you, which questions repeat and where a chat goes quiet. The repeated questions decide what gets automated first.

  2. 2

Sort the list and the permission

Contacts who asked to hear from you are separated from numbers that only sit in a phone book. We agree the wording new contacts will see before they say yes.

  3. 3

Choose the app or the API

One phone and a small team can stay on the ordinary app. Several people on one number, templates or a CRM link need the API through a provider, which is its own piece of setup work.

  4. 4

Write the replies and the plan

The greeting, away message, saved replies and handover rule are written in your words and approved by you. The message plan and its templates follow.

  5. 5

    Connect the record and test

Each link carries its source line and each chat lands in the CRM. We test on real phones, including a customer who asks for a person.

  6. 6

    Read the unanswered questions

A question the first reply could not answer becomes a new saved reply or a fixed handover. Stop requests are watched too, with the number's quality rating where the API is used, since both show a message plan that has gone too far.

Where this fits

Three pieces of sales work, in this order.

This work sits inside sales process design, at stage 0, foundation. The audit comes before it, and sales management keeps it running.

  1. Step 1

    Sales audit

Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.

Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.

  2. Step 2 · you are here

    Sales process design

One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.

Start here if every salesperson sells differently.

  3. Step 3

    Sales management

A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

Start here if the team has targets and no routine.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Should we use the Business app or the API?
The Business app suits a small team handling modest volume. The API through a provider suits larger teams needing several agents on one number. We look at your enquiry volume and staff before recommending either.
Can we send offers to our old enquiry list?
Only to people who agreed to receive messages from you. Check the platform's current rules and your own consent records before sending. We help build the opt-in at the survey and at commissioning.
Will WhatsApp replace phone calls?
No. A survey booking and a hard negotiation are better by voice. The chat carries the documents, the confirmations and the updates, so the call can be about the roof.
A buyer sends the bill by chat. Where should it be saved?
Save it to the customer record the same day, with the name and the roof details. A bill left in a chat thread is lost when staff change or the phone is replaced. The bill is personal data, so store it only where your team needs it and restrict who reads it.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
