Electronics and appliance stores · Local SEO

Maps decides who gets the call when an air conditioner dies at noon.

Local SEO puts your store in the Maps results a family checks before driving out on a Sunday evening. For an appliance dealer that means the right categories, photographs of the floor, and hours that hold through the season, which GullySales sets up and keeps answered.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What local SEO means

Local SEO is the work of making your business show up for searches that name your town or locality, such as a service plus an area name. GullySales sets up locality pages, local citations and map listings so nearby customers find you before a competitor across town.

For electronics and appliance stores

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “Hours are the field that quietly costs money”

Maps showing you closed at seven, when the shutter is up until nine, sends the evening buyer to somebody else. Festival timings and the Sunday you stay open have to go in before the week starts.

  • “Photographs of the floor, not the facade”

People open Maps to judge whether the model is likely to be there. Pictures of the rows of machines, the demo wall and the billing counter do more than a picture of the signboard.

  • “Strangers answer the questions on your listing”

Anyone can reply to a question on your profile, and a wrong answer about a brand or a warranty sits there for years. Post the common questions yourself and answer them properly.

  • “The godown is not a second shop”

A pin on the warehouse splits your reviews and sends customers to a shuttered gate. Only the place a buyer can walk into belongs on the map.

What we do

What we deliver for electronics and appliance stores.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. Categories set to what you sell

A primary category matching the main business and secondary ones for appliances, televisions and mobile phones, without the repair categories that bring service calls.

Result: The listing is shown to buyers rather than to repair traffic.

  2. Photographs taken on the floor

The rows of machines, the demo wall, the billing counter, the delivery van and the staff, refreshed when the range changes.

Result: A family can see the shop is worth the drive.

  3. Hours kept ahead of the season

Festival timings, the weekly closing day and the extended evenings loaded in advance, with public holidays entered before they arrive.

Result: Nobody is turned away by a listing that says closed.

  4. Questions answered by the shop

The questions people keep asking about brands, EMI, delivery charges and fitting, posted and answered on the profile by your team rather than by a passer-by.

Result: Wrong answers stop sitting on your listing.

  5. Posts timed to the offer weeks

Short Maps posts for the season offer, the exchange scheme and new stock, put up in the weeks the enquiries are there anyway.

Result: The listing shows a shop that is trading now.

  6. Calls from the listing counted

Calls and direction requests from the profile recorded against the baseline, with the counter asking new customers what brought them in.

Result: You can see what Maps is worth to the shop.

How the result is measured

  • Map pack ranking
  • Local search visibility
  • Enquiries by locality

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

What Google weighs here

How a family nearby finds an appliance store before a Sunday drive, and what to fix first.

Appliance store or electronics store
Set Appliance store if TVs, ACs and refrigerators lead, or Electronics store if mobiles and audio do. Add the narrower category, such as Air conditioning store, for the line you most want to be found for.
Brands you are authorised for
Name only the brands you hold as an authorised dealer, and check each maker's store locator for your address and hours. A family that arrives from a locator to a closed shutter writes a review you must answer.
Installation, EMI and exchange
List installation, EMI, exchange and extended warranty as services or attributes where the platform allows. Families decide on these before the price. If EMI is through a finance partner, check the partner's store locator also shows you.
Floor photographs
Show the TV wall, the AC section and the display of washing machines, taken with lights on. A family picks a showroom that looks stocked. Replace pictures when the layout changes.
Justdial and Sulekha
Keep both listings with the same shop name, hours and number as Maps. For a franchise store, use the name on the signboard and the brand's own wording, since a mismatch with the franchisor's list confuses customers.
Reviews at installation
Ask when the installation is complete and the household has used the product, not at billing. A review about delivery and installation tells a new family what happens after the sale.

Who it is for

This is written for these electronics and appliance stores.

  • Multi-brand consumer electronics showrooms
  • Home appliance stores
  • Mobile phone and accessories retailers
  • Home theatre and audio specialists
  • Telecom counters selling SIM, broadband and DTH connections
  • Brand-exclusive stores run by franchisees
  • Kitchen appliance and small appliance retailers
  • Electronics stores with service and repair centres

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • Your shop address or opening hours are not settled, so a listing would send families to a closed door
  • The store does not stock the brands the listing names, and a family would arrive for a model you cannot show

How it works

How the local SEO work runs

The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.

  1. 1

    Write down what is true

Each branch's real address, signboard name, phone, hours and owning Google account go into one record you sign off. Every later listing is copied from it.

  2. 2

    Search as your buyer does

We search each branch on a phone from points around it, in your buyers' words, and note who appears with what reviews and photos.

  3. 3

    Fix the profile first

Ownership first, then name, address, pin, phone, hours and business type. Google can suspend a profile with extra words in its name or an address that is not a real premises.

  4. 4

Build the branch pages and match the listings

Each real branch gets its own page, and the other listings are changed to agree with it. We write none for towns without a branch, because Google treats near-identical pages as doorway pages.

  5. 5

    Ask, reply and measure

We agree with each branch who asks for reviews, when and how. Results are set against the baseline recorded before work began, and the branch that is behind gets the next round.

Where this fits

Three pieces of sales work, in this order.

This work sits inside sales process design, at stage 1, prospecting and lead generation. The audit comes before it, and sales management keeps it running.

  1. Step 1

    Sales audit

Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.

Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.

  2. Step 2 · you are here

    Sales process design

One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.

Start here if every salesperson sells differently.

  3. Step 3

    Sales management

A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

Start here if the team has targets and no routine.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Should we put every brand we sell in the listing?
Name them in the products and the description, and keep the categories to what you really are. It helps the search that begins with a brand and a locality. Stuffing brand names into the business name gets the listing suspended.
Does the shop need to open on Sunday to rank well?
Ranking does not turn on it, but the calls do. Sunday evening is when families drive out to look at a television, and a listing that says closed hands the visit to the next shop.
Can we show the offer price on the listing?
Avoid fixed prices on the profile, since offers end and the listing goes on. Use a post with a clear end date for an offer, and take the price down when it ends. A customer who arrives for a price you no longer hold writes about it.
Should the service centre and the store share a profile?
If they are at the same door with the same hours, one profile listing both services is fine. If the service centre has its own premises, hours and phone, give it its own profile, so a customer with a broken fridge is not sent to the showroom.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
