Amazon and Flipkart advertising (retail media) · Marketing

Run sponsored ads on Amazon and Flipkart as a budget of their own.

Sponsored ads inside a marketplace are a different purchase from the listing itself. The listing decides how a product looks once a buyer lands on it. The ad decides whether the buyer reaches it at all, and you pay the platform for that placement out of a budget that sits apart from your website and search spend.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

In one paragraph

Amazon and Flipkart advertising, also called retail media, is the paid placement of your products inside a marketplace's own search and product pages. GullySales plans and runs it as a separate buy with its own budget, apart from listing and catalogue work. Scope and fee are agreed in writing after the requirements brief.

That separation matters because an ad sends more buyers to a page, whatever state the page is in. A product with thin content, a weak rating, patchy stock or a margin that cannot carry the ad cost loses money faster once it is advertised. Listing and catalogue work is covered by our e-commerce and marketplace marketing service. This service starts where that work ends.

We name Amazon and Flipkart here as ordinary tools. Ad formats, bidding rules, fees and eligibility on each platform change, so every plan starts by checking the platform's current rules rather than relying on what was true last year.

The problem

Does this sound like your business?

What owners tell us on the first call, in their words.

  • “Ad spend and organic sales are reported together, so nobody knows what the ads did.”

A sale that would have happened anyway is counted as an ad sale. The budget keeps growing on a number that does not separate the two.

  • “Products are advertised before they are ready to convert.”

Thin content, a low rating or a price above comparable listings turns paid clicks into wasted spend. The ad is blamed when the page was the weak point.

  • “The budget is set without counting platform fees and returns.”

A sale that looks profitable on the dashboard can lose money once the commission, shipping, returns and the ad cost are taken out of the margin.

What we do

Everything that is included.

Each deliverable, and what it gets you. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. Readiness check before any spend

Stock, ratings, content and margin are reviewed product by product, so advertising starts only on products that can carry it.

  2. Amazon sponsored advertising

Sponsored placements set up and managed on Amazon within the formats the platform currently offers to your account.

  3. Flipkart advertising

Sponsored placements set up and managed on Flipkart within the formats and rules the platform currently sets for sellers.

  4. Keyword and product targeting

Search terms and product placements chosen from how buyers search inside the marketplace, then pruned as real data comes in.

  5. Marketplace promotions

Platform-run offers and deal slots weighed against sponsored ads, so a promotion is funded only where it makes sense for the margin.

  6. Budget and return tracking

A separate budget line with ad-attributed sales kept apart from organic, reported against the baseline recorded before work starts.

How the result is measured

  • Ad-attributed sales kept separate from organic sales
  • Advertising cost as a share of the sales it is credited with
  • Margin per advertised product after fees, returns and ad cost
  • Rating, review count and stock availability on advertised products

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

Who it is for

This is written for you if these sound familiar.

  • Manufacturers, brands and sellers already selling on Amazon or Flipkart who now want paid placement
  • Sellers who tried sponsored ads on their own and cannot tell which spend paid for itself
  • Businesses that treat marketplace advertising as part of the same budget as Google or Meta and want it planned separately
  • Brands launching a new product on a marketplace that need visibility before reviews exist
  • Owners comparing marketplace promotions against ads and unsure which to fund first

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • You have no live marketplace listings yet; start with listing and catalogue work first
  • Your product margin is thinner than the platform's fees plus an advertising cost, so there is nothing to spend
  • You are out of stock or cannot fulfil orders reliably, so extra buyers would only meet disappointment

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Your brief

You tell us what you need in a few short steps: your business, what you want, where enquiries come from and how they are handled.

  2. After the brief

A conversation and a written scope

We read it, then talk with whoever handles your enquiries. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come in writing, and nothing starts before you have read them.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

The numbers this work is meant to move, such as enquiries, quotations, orders, visits or renewals, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

The fix we agreed to start with is put in place and measured against the baseline, whether that is a reply, a follow-up, a page, a listing or the handover between marketing and sales.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

How the work runs

  1. 1

    Requirements brief

You send the requirements brief with your marketplaces, products and goals. We read it and talk to you before anything is proposed.

  2. 2

    Check the platform's current rules

Formats, eligibility, fees and policies on each marketplace are checked at the start, and we do not assume they match an earlier account.

  3. 3

Agree scope and fee in writing

Which products and platforms are advertised, how the budget is split and what GullySales charges are written down and agreed before any campaign goes live.

  4. 4

Set a baseline and launch carefully

Current sales, ratings and ad spend are recorded first. Campaigns begin on the products that passed the readiness check.

  5. 5

    Measure and adjust

Results are reported against the baseline. Spend moves to what pays back, and products that do not pay back are paused.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.

Engagement options

Ways to work with us.

Pick the size of commitment that fits. Every option starts with your brief and a conversation.

  1. Option 1

    The conversation on its own

A call after you send your brief. It says honestly whether you need outside help, and many fixes are ones your own team can make.

  2. Option 2

    One fix, scoped

Start with the fix that matters most, such as reply time or follow-up. The fee is in writing before anything starts.

  3. Option 3

    An ongoing programme

We run the work, report against the baseline, and you renew on the numbers. The term and the reporting are agreed in writing first.

  4. Option 4

Guidance for your own team or agency

We plan, brief and check the work of your in-house team or current agency, instead of replacing them.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

How is this different from your e-commerce and marketplace marketing service?
That service covers listings, catalogue quality, ratings and review handling. This one covers the paid placement itself, with its own budget and its own reporting. Some sellers need both, and we say plainly when the listing work should come first.
Do you guarantee sales or rankings from the ads?
No. Sponsored ads buy visibility. They do not promise sales, ranking or any particular return, and we do not state one.
What will it cost?
There are two costs: the platform's own ad spend, which you set and which is paid to the platform, and our fee. Our fee is agreed in writing after the requirements brief. Check the platform's current rules and fees for its side.
When should I not advertise yet?
When stock is unreliable, the rating is poor, the content is thin or the margin cannot carry the fees. We would rather tell you to fix those first than spend your budget on them.
Can you also manage IndiaMART or other marketplaces?
IndiaMART lead handling is a separate service on this site. Other marketplaces are discussed in the first conversation, and scope is agreed in writing.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
