Truck, trailer and commercial vehicle dealers · Sales process

Sell a vehicle in steps that a new salesman can follow and a manager can check.

A sales process for a commercial vehicle dealer is the written order of steps from the first enquiry to the delivery and first service, with what is asked and recorded at each. GullySales writes it with your sales head, tries it on live enquiries and trains the team to follow it.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

For truck, trailer and commercial vehicle dealers

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “Every salesman sells in his own way”

One quotes at the first call, another waits for a visit, and the dealership cannot say which way brings more bookings.

  • “The loan is treated as someone else's job”

The salesman closes at the booking and hands the file to finance, and the buyer is lost between the two desks.

  • “Price is the only conversation”

A buyer asks the lowest price, the salesman gives it, and the talk about running cost, service support and resale never happens.

What we do

What we deliver for truck, trailer and commercial vehicle dealers.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A written sales process in your own words

From enquiry to the first service, with the questions asked and the record kept at each step.

Result: A new salesman can learn it, and a manager can check it.

  2. A first-call script

The four questions on vehicle, use, payment and timing, with the answer to give if the buyer asks about price at once.

Result: The call produces a record, not just a conversation.

  3. A yard visit and test drive routine

What to prepare before a buyer arrives, who meets him and what he is shown, including the papers of a used vehicle.

Result: The buyer feels the dealership is ready for him.

  4. A quotation format

One page with the vehicle, the price, what is included, the exchange value and the validity, ready to send by WhatsApp.

Result: The buyer can compare you fairly with another quotation.

  5. A follow-up plan for buyers who delay

Dates for the next call, the content of the message and the point at which a record is marked lost, with a reason.

Result: You learn why buyers are lost, and some come back.

  6. A handover after delivery

The first service booking, the contact for breakdowns and a call after the first trip, recorded in the register.

Result: The buyer stays with the dealership for service and the next vehicle.

How the result is measured

  • Deals following the process
  • Time spent at each step
  • Drop-off rate by step

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

Steps of a sale

The steps of a commercial vehicle sale, and what to ask or record at each.

Enquiry
Reply at once and write down the source, the vehicle asked about and his number. If the call comes in at night, return it first thing in the morning.
Qualify
Ask about the load, the route, how many vehicles he runs and how he plans to pay. Mark the record as serious, researching or just browsing and say why.
Yard visit and test drive
Fix the time, tell him which papers to bring, and have the vehicle ready. Note what he liked, what he doubted and who else he is consulting.
Quotation
Send the written quote on WhatsApp the same day, with exchange value if he has an old vehicle. Record the date and the amount quoted.
Follow-up and finance
Call on the date you agreed. Check the finance file each day, and tell the buyer what is missing. Write down any objection in his words.
Close and handover
Confirm the booking, the delivery date and the registration steps. Record the delivery, then book the first service and note the date to call him after his first trip.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Your brief

You tell us what you need in a few short steps: your business, what you want, where enquiries come from and how they are handled.

  2. After the brief

A conversation and a written scope

We read it, then talk with whoever handles your enquiries. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come in writing, and nothing starts before you have read them.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

The numbers this work is meant to move, such as enquiries, quotations, orders, visits or renewals, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

The fix we agreed to start with is put in place and measured against the baseline, whether that is a reply, a follow-up, a page, a listing or the handover between marketing and sales.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

How the sales process work runs

  1. 1

    Study current deal flow

We trace how deals actually move today, comparing across reps and outcomes.

  2. 2

    Define the stages

Clear stages and criteria are designed to match how deals genuinely progress and close.

  3. 3

    Configure the CRM

The process is built into your CRM so it is enforced structurally, not just documented.

  4. 4

    Train the team

Reps are trained on the new process and why each stage exists.

  5. 5

    Review adoption

We check after rollout whether the process is being followed and adjust where it is not.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.

#257, 3rd floor, Sri Nanjundeshwara Complex, Nagarbhavi 8th Block, Outer Ring Road. How we work.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

When should a salesman give a price?
After he knows the use, the load and the way the buyer will pay. Give the range on the first message so the buyer stays, and the exact quote after the questions. A bare price loses on the next dealer's call.
How do we handle a buyer who only asks for the lowest price?
Give the range, then ask what he is comparing it with and what he runs now. Talk about running cost and service support in terms of his own route. Some buyers will still go elsewhere, and that is acceptable.
Who should do the finance step, the salesman or the finance desk?
The salesman stays with the buyer, and the finance desk handles the lender. The salesman checks the file status each day and tells the buyer in his own language what is pending.
What should be written down at each step?
Who the buyer is, what he wants, what was quoted, what is pending and the next call date. If it is not written, the next person cannot continue the conversation and the buyer has to repeat himself.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
