Flower shops · Referral marketing

Get the wedding planner to put your name in front of the bride.

Referrals for a florist come from two places: the customer whose arrangement was admired, and the planner, venue or caterer whose client asks who did the flowers. GullySales builds the introduction those partners can forward, and works out what a fair fee looks like in this trade.

A 90-minute audit call and a written, scored report. Turnaround, reporting and term are agreed in writing after the audit.

A back alley between two brick yard walls with washing lines strung across it: sheets pegged out on the near line, the newest still swinging on one differently coloured peg, the next line along completely empty, a prop pole holding the line up and the back gate standing ajar

What referral marketing means

Referral marketing is asking an existing customer to recommend you to someone they know, usually with a reward for both sides. It differs from a loyalty scheme because it brings in a new customer rather than a repeat purchase. GullySales builds the ask and the reward into a point where a customer is already satisfied.

For flower shops

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “The planner gets asked at the venue, so the planner is the source”

A guest asks who did the flowers and the answer comes from the planner or the venue manager, not from the couple. That relationship is the one worth working on.

  • “The card in the bouquet is a referral if you let it be”

Your name is read by a recipient who had no part in choosing you. That is a warm introduction sitting on somebody's dining table.

  • “Trade commissions are normal here and belong in writing”

Planners and decorators expect a trade rate or a commission on flowers. Agree the number and how it is invoiced before the first job rather than after the wedding.

What we do

What we deliver for flower shops.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A partner list of planners, venues, caterers and decorators nearby

The people who get asked about flowers, listed with who to speak to, what they handle and which of your arrangements suits their clients.

Result: You know exactly who to visit instead of waiting to be found.

  2. A portfolio a planner can forward without editing it

A short set of past arrangements by budget and style, with your delivery area and terms, in a file that opens properly on a phone.

Result: Your work reaches the bride through somebody she already trusts.

  3. A written trade rate and commission agreement

The discount or fee offered to planners and decorators, how it is invoiced and when it applies, agreed in writing with each partner.

Result: Nobody argues about the number after the wedding.

  4. Referral tracking by partner

Each enquiry marked with the planner, venue or customer who sent it, and followed through to the order and its value.

Result: You know which partner deserves the attention and which never sends anything.

  5. A customer ask after the arrangement that was admired

A short message to the sender days after a large order, asking them to pass your number on, with a discount for both sides on the next order.

Result: A happy customer becomes an introduction instead of a memory.

  6. A thank-you routine for partners who send work

An arrangement, a note or a settled commission going back to the planner within the same week, every time.

Result: The planner keeps saying your name because you noticed.

  7. Referred orders read against the baseline

Referrals received, what share became orders, and what they were worth, set beside the baseline recorded before work started.

Result: You can see whether the partner round is paying for itself.

How the result is measured

  • Referrals received
  • Referral conversion rate
  • Cost per referred customer

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

Who it is for

This is written for these flower shops.

  • Neighbourhood flower shops
  • Wedding and event florists
  • Corporate and hotel flower suppliers
  • Online flower delivery services
  • Florists specialising in funeral and sympathy arrangements
  • Florists inside malls and commercial complexes

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • You want a guaranteed Google ranking or a guaranteed number of leads. Nobody honest can promise either.
  • You need enquiries by next week and have nobody to answer them.
  • You want posts and reach reported, not enquiries and orders.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Each step has a point in time and something you receive.

  1. 01 · Day 1

    Free audit call

90 minutes with whoever handles your enquiries: how they arrive, how fast they are answered, where they are lost.

  2. 02 · After the call

    Written, scored report

Six areas scored, fixes ranked by return and cost. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come with it, in writing.

  3. 03 · Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

Enquiries by source, reply time, conversion and cost per order, written down so every later month has an honest comparison.

  4. 04 · Month 1

    The first fix goes live

Usually the cheapest one on the report: reply time, a follow-up sequence or the marketing-to-sales handover.

  5. 05 · As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. 06 · At the end of the term

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

How the work runs for flower shops

  1. 1

    Assess

We look at how the shop appears for the same-day, urgent search, how wedding enquiries are quoted, and whether corporate standing orders are being pursued at all.

  2. 2

Fix the profile and the delivery promise

Google Business Profile set up for the delivery radius and hours, and a clear, honest same-day delivery promise the team can actually keep.

  3. 3

Build the wedding and event portfolio

A page of real past arrangements organised by style and budget, so a couple can judge quality before asking for a quote.

  4. 4

    Win same-day and planned orders

Local search and Google Ads for urgent searches, and outreach with the portfolio for wedding planners and venues.

  5. 5

    Win and keep corporate accounts

A pitch for standing weekly arrangements to hotels and offices, and a reliability record that protects the account at renewal.

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Should we pay wedding planners a commission?
It is common in event work and there is nothing improper about it, provided the couple is not told your flowers cost less than they do. Put the rate in writing with each planner and make sure your quoted price still stands on its own.
Our customers say lovely things but never refer anyone. Why?
Because nobody asked, and because they do not know what you want. A specific ask beats a general one. Ask the bride to send your number to the two friends getting married next year, not to recommend you to anyone.
How is marketing different for same-day orders versus weddings?
Same-day orders need speed and a strong local search presence; weddings need a portfolio and patience over weeks. We build both, tracked separately.
Do we need ads for Valentine's Day and Mother's Day?
Usually yes, in the week before. Searches for flower delivery jump around these dates, and many orders are placed only a day or two ahead. A small, radius-limited ad budget then catches buyers your profile alone would miss.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped in the free audit and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after the audit, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
Fixes to reply time, follow-up and your Google Business Profile usually show in weeks, because the enquiries already exist. Ads show in days once follow-up is ready. SEO and content take months. The audit tells you which applies to you.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you meet on the audit call. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
For the audit, last month's enquiries in any format and 90 minutes with whoever handles them. After that, access to the accounts the work touches, such as the website, Google Business Profile or CRM, and time for the review meetings.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
